  1. We either do that or use hand sanitizer. We also bring food-service grade gloves for the buffet because the utensils are probably the dirtiest things on the ship.
  2. Maybe true in the U.S., but not here in Canada. We get them all as part of our basic cable package. Depending on where Celebrity sources their TV, they may not have an issue.
  3. Ships are going out full. Whether it's from purchased suites or move-ups makes no difference.
  4. Cruise directors know as much about ship operations as flight attendants know about airline operations.
  5. This is quite common in the industry.
  6. There are posts above that claim this is not true, and that some hosts will not do it.
  7. When we had the back-to-back where we got to E+ after the first, the CC host had no problem with us or anyone else in the same boat (no pun intended) getting new status on the second cruise. Just goes to show that some employees are customer-focused and some are not.
  8. Where is this "rule" defined? Not true, since points for a cruise don't post until after the cruise is completed. Power-Up points are a special case that can cause you to be bumped during a cruise, though booking multiple cruises in close proximity could make it happen as well as the points for the first cruise could post during the second cruise. (Back-to-back is also a special case where they will actually give you benefits before your points actually post.)
  9. True for home microwaves, though industrial microwaves can be problematic.
  10. If you go to the loyalty desk and prove your higher status, they may give you the benefits (at their discretion). They're generally pretty accommodating.
  11. I'll preemptively report that I will receive the points.
  12. I must admit that I often don't wear a black tie on black-tie night. I prefer a white tie with my tails...
  13. Depends on the length of the cruise. The second bag of laundry can be quite valuable.
  14. Which makes no sense to me, as the UK has some great beers. My favourite is Old Speckled Hen. (Though I'm particularly fond of Dunkelweizen, which can be terribly hard to find.)
  15. They say that to scare people. They don't enforce it.
  16. It's the same with Heineken. Someone I used to work with from the Netherlands said they call it "Dutch battery acid".
  17. Yes. My favourite straight-up mixer is Bitter Lemon (Schweppes or Canada Dry), though not all the bartenders even know they have it.
  18. We have nine cruises booked this year with only one on Celebrity. We'll be first-timers on MSC and AmaWaterways, and repeat customers on two Princess and four Cunard cruises. Next year is currently two Celebrity, two Princess, and two P&O (first time for that one). All the Celebrity cruises were booked before the massive devaluations of the past few months.
  19. Misuse of reflexive pronouns is one of my pet peeves... Though the worst is people who type/say "should of", "could of", and "would of" instead of "should have", "could have", and "would have" (or "should've", "could've", and "would've").
  20. I've never had any type of surcharge for charging casino play to my room.
