  1. Oh dear, thanks for the report and hopefully you will have a better experience for the return crossing.
  2. I have seen evening outdoor dining on Queen Victoria a few years ago but I don't know how busy it was or if it's currently available.
  3. I would have thought this was very likely, the website also mentions that the ships are carrying extra oxygen. I'm not sure Cunard is the only Carnival brand with this ban, Carnival Cruises isn't allowing them for the moment either. A lot can change between now and 2025.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to report back. It's been really good to read all the reports about Queen Victoria since her return to service.
  5. I don't want to worry you but the laundry rooms have been closed when Covid case counts are high.
  6. She's not a regular visitor, let us know if you get any more information once you are on board. We're scheduled to visit next June.
  7. Shame but an overnight in Civitavecchia seems like a good swap !
  8. Thanks for your reports, it's good to hear you're having a great time despite the weather. Sorry to hear about your bag dropping, did they break ?!
  9. Thanks for the update, hope you don't get too wet today!
  10. It's fine as long as it's not a Travel Agent
  11. I've corrected the date of it which might help, there's still time for people to join. You've mentioned that this is your first cruise, is it your first trip to Europe ? If you're a confident traveller then you can certainly get around independently but for example in Civitavecchia Cunard offers a variety of tours including just a transfer to Rome if you prefer some security.
  12. Only for Grills passengers though
  13. Which ship ? There are more options on the smaller Queens
  14. That's a shame as it sounds as if they had looked after you well so far. Who is your insurer ?
  15. We usually do a mixture of tours and our own thing. Have you joined your roll call? It can be useful if you can get a small group together.
  16. We made it to the wedding and back, avoiding the motorway for most of the outward journey so we got there in plenty of time. It was a beautiful day and a lovely venue, although there had been some doubt about whether it would be finished in time. There were workmen finishing off rooms in the courtyard area where we stayed. There was no wifi and very poor mobile reception. Fortunately it was a very mild evening so we could sit outside as the band were very loud !
  17. I'm not sure anyone here can give you a definitive answer
  18. I'm glad to hear that embarkation went well but no pub food isn't good!
  19. Thanks for the update, have a great time
  20. The family is starting to panic about getting to the wedding tomorrow as there are fuel protests planned for the Second Severn Crossing. The wedding is in Wales and so are we so I'm hoping it's not going to be a problem but my sister in law seems to want us to travel today. The wedding isn't until 1 so we'll take our chances!
  21. Initially why Cunard for us was because we wanted to sail on QE2 in her final season. It was supposed to be a one off ! We keep coming back because we enjoy the experience whether in the Grills, Club or Britannia. We have tried other lines but only once each, we haven't found anything else we like as much.
  22. We had it on a P&O ship, it often involved being given a pager. After a few days we realised that the food was so poor in the MDR we gave up and paid for the extra cost options.
