  5. That does sound disappointing, I would have expected a bartender to know how to make classic cocktails. I know everyone is having problems with staff but that's poor.
  6. From the What to pack section of the website Smart attire simply means a dress shirt and trousers, skirt and a top, or a cocktail dress. Essentially, choose something along the same vein as you’d wear to a stylish restaurant or the theatre on a special occasion. Red and Gold are the Cunard colours
  7. A combination of Covid and it's a very busy time for me at work. I'll save on the travelling time and I might be able to multitask in the boring bits ! I've got a meeting the following week in North Wales but I can drive to that and it's in the countryside so it feels safer. There are no further train strikes planned for the moment.

  11. That's a shame, we've had reports in the past that the July 4th cruise can be a "different" experience but without specifics it's difficult to comment.
  12. Thank you, little Theo had a ring security box as well but it didn't make it into the photograph. It's forecast to be a warm weekend and it's our village fete. Mr HH and his siblings have been emptying the last of the things out of their former family home. Contracts were exchanged this week and the sale should complete next week. I was due to attend my first in-person Union meeting in London next week but I've opted to attend online instead.

  15. I'm not sure where you are seeing that, the website says - "During your time on board, you’re certain to receive our famous White Star service from all of our crew. Additionally, there are many more people behind the scenes supporting those who look after you directly. For your convenience, a Hotel and Dining charge will be automatically added to your on board account. This charge, which varies for Grills and Britannia guests, will be shared amongst those crew members who helped provide and support your holiday experience, including the restaurant and accommodation staff, stateroom and buffet stewards and others. You can amend these charges any way you wish by contacting the Purser’s Office once on board. For all bar and wine purchases, a 15% service charge is added to your account and this is shared amongst the beverage staff. A 12.5% salon service charge is passed directly to the crew member who has looked after you. This charge is also automatically added to your on board account. Naturally, you are free to tip any member of the crew over and above these amounts, at your discretion."

  17. I don't know, we have 2 other posters who have been posting live and I haven't noticed any particular complaints about the service. What were the problems ?

  20. Others have reported using the allowance to create a hot spot so 2 devices can use one allowance.
  21. It's been a while since I've been in Club but I don't think there's a different room service menu.
