  1. And all the girls get better lookin' too. 😊
  2. I'm embarrassed for them. I always try to avoid this dog'n'pony show.
  3. Doing a 3-dayer out of LB, I didn't mind the parking off site. Just went there to begin with, rolled luggage to the bus and the bus dumped us off in front of the dome. A little presumptive maybe in that I didn't have very much luggage. One time this was all done when the Panorama was a day late in debarking because of a Covid scare and the beginning of it all. At the time the reason given was Carnival was adding to the parking garage. I personally think, guests arrive too early at the port and can't find parking in the garage because the passengers from the debarking cruise haven't made their way to the garage yet. Instant mayhem, IMHO.
  4. I have excellent memories of that same hill maybe of Probably 30 years ago.😁
  5. I know you mean well and I thank you, but I fear you have no idea how the tech of today just ricochets around the brain of an 84-year-old reducing the information to marbles . . . . LOL
  6. I found a duck on the PANORAMA years ago and promptly hid it in one of the closets in my cabin. When I posted about it, I caught hell from so many CCers because I didn't put it in plain site. Seems a bit pointless to have them in plain site ! All the grief I took for that friggin' duck I'll probably ignore one if I see one in the future.
  7. I usually give mine away to the first 6-10 year old with their parents on the ship. They don't seem to be all that impressed, but their parents do because they know what it means. The same with the dime store gift when it's appropriate. I did love the insulated glasses though. Eventually acquired a set. Loved them.
  8. Come on, everybody. Admit it. It's the price. I've enjoyed all of my cruises on Carnival, but the main reason I'm there is the price, which, incidentally, isn't always Carnival. Especially for solo cruisers. Finding out there are others, even upscale cruisers like Princess which give me some great pricing out of Galveston. I would like to keep building on my cruise history to get to Diamond shortly, but sometimes you just have to pay homage to the dollar. And always had a great FUN time on every Carnival cruise.😊
  9. Try the Venetian in Vegas.😁Last time I was there $35 and that was probably 10 years ago.😁
  10. If you are booked a year and a half out, how would Carnival collect this SURCHARGE ? Give you the option to pay that added surcharge OR cancel your cruise with full refund ? Put the surcharge on your onboard account ? If this happens, using your tips to cover the added cost is idiotic, at best. And easily perceived as just plain cruel. Apparently Carnival has, but I don't ever remember them doing this.
  11. Absolutely, NOT . . . . . no problem whatsoever.
  12. Many of my 3 and 4 day cruisers were out of the same port with the same ship. Always had a ball and loved being 30 minutes from the port. Many last minute cruisers there.
  13. So true. It amazes me how petty cruisers can be. Drop 3 or 4 grand on a cruise and spend a couple hours of it complaining at the concierge desk.
  14. I also became platinum during this period, although most of mine were on 7 day cruises. There were "newbies" talking about a month of 3 and 4 day cruises to acquire the 10 cruises and qualify for platinum in a month ! πŸ˜— I'm a few cruises away from Diamond and I hope it doesn't sound like SOUR GRAPES, but I see very little difference between platinum and diamond. Number of FREE laundry uses, which I've seldom taken advantage of anyway. I usually give away my pin or little jack-in-the-box gift to younger cruisers. I've always loved Carnival and will continue to cruise with them no matter what happens to the loyalty program, although, of late, Princess has some great priciing, when you consider that some of their cruises have a SOLO adjustment that is guite nice.
  15. I always mentally compare these posts with the "good ole days". Back when PLATINUMS got a free entrance into the slots tournament (not buy one, get one free), I always asked the teller at the casino cage how many PLATINUMS were onboard because she always had a list right there for handiing out free slot tickets. Usually the number was 20 to 35 depending on how new the ship was. At the port in Long Beach a separate building by the DOME housed all the PLATINUMS complete with coffee, croissants, and orange juice. That red PRIORITY stamp on your boarding pass got you to the front automatically of every kind of line. All watered down now, I see major changes into any kind of "loyalty" program. .
  16. Carnival has pitched this card to me in the past. What exactly are the advantages to a Carnival Credit Card ? card fee? interest rate? etc.
  17. Loved that port. For me it was on a Sunday. Quite little town, walked to town. Major bike race going on over the entire island. Very few places open, as everyone was going to church. Great stop.
  18. Congratulations ! I used mine on a Panorama cruise and really enjoyed the WHITE cabin card you get to use for the cruise (a Diamond colored card).
  19. I'm surprised no one has commented on the placement of the whaletail smoke stack on this ship. Is Carnival now placing the engines near the front of the ship rather than the aft ? πŸ˜‰
  20. I took a pic as the Jubilee sailed by, but haven't a clue how to get it into my CC account and post it.
  21. ☺️ If I lived in Laguna Nigel, I wouldn't worry about any incident on a cruise setting me back too much either.
  22. Around 10:00 on the old Conquest out of New York. The ship arrived empty and my cruisemate and I were PLATINUM and at the front of the list. I think a wedding party boarded before us, but we had an empty ship when we boarded. Great for picture taking. πŸ˜„
  23. 🀣 Yes, but Carnival already has your money at this point ! 🀣
