  1. And I just realized I should have followed the instructions and "pinged" Steelers36 with my last message.😕 Mea culpa again!
  2. Steelers36, thank you for the info. I apologize for not knowing how to address a particular CC member. Next time I'll know! 🙂 (And I did get our companions added and got dining times set for the whole cruise. Success!)
  3. Thrak, You always have such good info to share that I thought I'd direct this to you. (I tried looking back through a LOT of posts on this thread, but couldn't find exactly what I need.) We just booked a cruise to Hawaii on the Emerald with some friends. On a previous cruise, I was able to book dining times and a table for 2 for my husband and myself with no problems; however, now I need to book a table for 4 to include our friends, and I don't know how to do that. I will probably pick the same time each night, assuming there are good times available. Can you possibly walk me through how to do this on the Medallion app? Thanks!
  4. I apologize if this has been asked and answered; I tried doing a search without success. We just booked a roundtrip cruise for June on the Emerald to Hawaii in order to accompany some friends. Before trying to book dining, I'd like to know what the times are for the early and late evening shows. If anyone can help with this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
  5. Thanks, everyone. Thought that was true, but wanted to check.
  6. Can anyone tell me whether Princess transfers can also be purchased for John Wayne airport, rather than just LAX? I don't ever remember seeing a choice on previous cruises leaving from San Pedro, but I'm curious.
  7. Speaking of figures, I'm trying to figure out exactly how many drinks one person would have to drink in order to make the Plus pkg a good value. In doing that, I think I'm confusing myself (not hard to do!) Would I simply subtract the standard fare from the Plus fare and that amount would be what would need to be consumed? Or would I first subtract gratuities and wi-fi from the Plus fare (since they are included), then the remaining amount would be what would be needed to be used for drinks? Sorry if this isn't clear--as I said, I am confusing myself!
  8. I tried searching to get an answer for this because I'm pretty sure it's been answered, but had no luck: I'm assuming this answer by wowzz means that both adults in a stateroom have to purchase the Plus pkg even if only one person can drink. (We have friends planning a cruise and one person can't drink alcohol for medical reasons.) Is that correct?
  9. Arctic Kitty, So did Princess require passports because of the stop in Ensenada? I've heard so many different answers to questions about this that I thought I'd ask. Our passports are in the process of being renewed; we didn't expedite them because we had no immediate travel plans. Now, however, we have some older friends who are wanting to do a cruise to Hawaii (possibly at the end of March) and want us to go with them. We can't count on having our passports back in time and aren't willing to take a chance booking. Thanks!
  10. We had an excursion cancelled by Princess on our Med. cruise last fall. We never got ANY notification from Princess. We only knew it was cancelled when some acquaintances we made on the ship, who were scheduled for the same excursion, mentioned it to us a day or two before the port. They had received notification from Princess. No one in Guest Relations or at the Excursion desk could explain the lack of notification.
  11. In 2017, we went with Espiritu Baja and had a wonderful time. They picked us up in a small boat right close to where the ship was docked and took us across to the bay to the excursion office where we paid for our (pre-arranged and booked) excursion to snorkel with the whale sharks. After paying and getting the long wetsuits we wanted, we went out looking for the whale sharks. It was about a 15-minute boat ride and we spotted one right away. We ended up getting into the water 3 different times in slightly different places and had a terrific time.
  12. Both these desserts looked and tasted as they had in the past when we were on the Regal in Sept. Two of my favorites!
  13. No reservations at Ocean Terrace as far as I could see in Sept. It's just a small bar with 5 or 6 stools to pull up to it, then there are some small tables around the area. We didn't try it til fairly late in our 21-day Med. cruise, but wished we had tried it sooner! Reasonable prices for sushi and if you get a drink, you get a free appetizer as well (and we had the Plus package, so just ordered drinks on the package and still got the free appetizers to go with the sushi we ordered.)
  14. We got all the recipe cards in Sept. on the Regal, but they no longer were giving out the t-shirts.
  15. We were on the Regal in Sept. for 21 days and SO agree with you about entertainment in the Piazza. Our favorite bar was Good Spirits at Sea, but the noise from the Piazza often ruined this one for us as well. And we REALLY agree, too, about Victor Rossi! If we walked by and he was "performing", we made sure to go far, far away.
  16. Ours, too, was done on the app and it showed no charge after being reserved; however, it showed up on our onboard account after dining there.
  17. We had a promotionalpackage offer that included 2 specialty dining (total of $58). I had a notice on the app that we each had $29 specialty dining credit. When I booked it, it showed $0 due; however, after we used it onboard, our account was billed $58! We had to go to Guest Services to get the charge removed, so watch your onboard account carefully even if it looks on the app like you aren't charged when you book.
  18. And always read all the way to the bottom of any and all pages. When we got on in Rome on Sept. 10 about 11 AM, a woman and her husband were in the midst of being refused boarding because they didn't get COVID tested before boarding. It was required at that time under "enhanced" requirements because our cruise was visiting Greece and the wording then said "embarking, visiting, or disembarking in Greece". She kept insisting that the website said no testing needed, but evidently simply hadn't scrolled down far enough (or noticed the asterisks). Don't know what happened to them; when we were told to board, Princess staff were sending someone to retrieve their luggage from being loaded onto the ship. I would think they would have had plenty of time to go into Civitavecchia and get tested, then return before sailing that evening. Hopefully, that's what happened.
  19. We also just (September) did 3 tours with them: Pompeii and Serranto, The Classic Amalfi Coast, and Marseille/Aix-en-Provence/Cassis. All were outstanding!
  20. In mid-September, we also did a short Delos tour (no beach break) with the ship (Princess), then just walked around Mykonos on our own. I didn't think the Delos tour was particularly strenuous, though it did involve some walking.
  21. When we were there on Sept. 18, I'm not sure how high the winds were, but when we went to the Princess Theater to meet for our excursion, they first told us all excursions were cancelled due to high winds. We didn't leave, though, and then were told that only some excursions were cancelled; it depended on where their tour started and where the tender had to dock, We were doing "Oia and Fira on Your Own" and our tender was docking near Oia--we got to go, although later than planned. Before we left, we heard that even the people whose tours got cancelled (and I'm not sure where they were originally supposed to tender) got to go ashore on their own to a different dock.
  22. On our recent 21-day Med. cruise, we used WhatsApp onboard (after being encouraged to by our daughter). It worked really well on our Android phones (and we are not at all "tech-y").
