  1. So I called MSC.. and spoke to tech. And she says the TA put our middle names into the first name field..and MSC has to fix it-- and the "damage is done" by the TA... She tells me to email existing reservations etc. to have both reservations fixed--and expect it to "take a week". Emailed as instructed. The boilerplate message back from that box indicates the triage for that mailbox/office and gives a telephone number to call--- that gives me an error beeping. 🤪 none of this makes sense as the one cruise IS connected and linked. The other one is not and the "tech" support" couldn't fix the tech problem Thoughts?
  2. Oh the infamous issues of MSC tech So one of our sailings is linked, the other isn't We've tried through the portal- the MSC side with confirmation number, name etc and we've tried login into our MSC and linking via acct settings link AND we have called TA to ask for help. She called MSC who told her "that some are experiencing this problem-- clear your cache etc" Cleared browser/cache and that not it. Ideas? We can't do preboard check in, luggage tags etc without being linked. The MSC agent told our TA they could link it on the ship--which is absurd.. I can't get into do the preboard stuff. Advice welcome re tech -- I hate to call MSC myself --as we used a TA.
  3. I should think the same applies- healthwise. Fecal matter closes down pools and requires serious steps. Even with hot tubs etc-- and adults - they have to address the pee in the pool problem. 😱 I recall reading about the strong chlorine smell and reaction to urine
  4. Interesting. When we sailed another line-- we had gotten several bottles of champagne etc from CD etc and left them marked with notes to staff along with cash tips. Wrote their name on bottle so they wouldn't be accused of misappropriation etc. There is only so much one can eat/drink on a cruise and despite our best efforts-- 😁-- there is always more As long as one is driving to the port- then I guess one can haul it home. Can't fly with a handle in carryon🙃
  5. Can you please direct me to who/what thread this is-- capt hudson? TYIA
  6. We never use much in our mini bar..and cannot imagine needing full bottles. Everything we could want is at the lounge and our butler will bring us bev to the cabin Same for snacks-- there is so much offered at meals that we never take advantage of all of the snacks in the lounge, tea, etc. And never eat the snacks in the mini bar. Love YC sailing.
  7. You had a better experienced than we did for our first B2B in YC. We got put into the aft dining room (Merav) with all--and then no preference with the rest of the B2Bs--there were several hundred.. and we got stuck waiting in the terminal in a large group waiting. (early 2020) When in 2022 we did b2b2b2b things were much improved and we walked off, down the line past customs/border and back on. Those selfish stragglers really muck up the works for the ship/officers/pax and embarkation for all.
  8. NO It is a health issue and prohibited by all regulatory agencies (if sailing out of US) IDK about other countries.
  9. The carts to YC area on OC are for all YC pax. They are driven by staff and its first come first served Once at the YC area, there are lines of loungers, cabanas (must be reserved and $$$), and the restaurant.
  10. We have had 6 stellar MSC cruises since 2020. 2 in 2020 (2 7 night cruises) right before shut down, and then 4 cruises in 2022. We have booked 2 for 2024 and look forward to them. In the past the landside of things has been difficult and the ship side stellar. Things seem a bit better land side booking and we hope the ship side is as great as we have known it to be in the past.
  11. TYVM We realized the first time we sailed Meraviglia out of Miami -- it was a zoo at disembarkation--and the parking was a hike from the terminal. Can only imagine how the construction impacts traffic. Will be a day for patience both embarkation and disembarking
  12. Thank you. I'll look for that post
  13. We haven't sailed out of Miami in a couple of years. The last time we did we arrived just prior to the crush of traffic that brought things to a standstill. We were sailing Celebrity for that sailing Is MSC's terminal completed? How is traffic-parking?
  14. Have there been any changes to the YC Dinner menus for the Caribbean routes in the last 18 months? The last time we sailed Merav in 2022 for B2Bssss, and we recall the menus were the same from 2020 (we sailed early Feb right before things shut down) Just curious if regular YCers have anything of note to share. TYVM
  15. Thanks for this-- Typically have to use an extension cord at night and then roll up/set aside during the day. Was this a recessed euro plug?
  16. At over 180 views and no response.. I'll take a stab at it From what I have read on the MSC website.. the fun pass is per person..not a group. I don't see a link for a family pass. If you have a paid booking then you can likely see the prices to add that pre cruise and the restrictions. The Premium package is good at champagne bar yet you are limited to brands/vintages in the package by the glass. Some are by bottle only and are not included. There are some nice offerings at the champagne bar yet availability will depend on what was stocked in port at embarkation. Hope this helps Happy Sailing
  17. Does anyone have a link for what have been the dry dock schedules for reg marine reqd maintenance vs interior refurb for the ships? I know that Merav went in 2022 after crossing east.. though don't recall if that was reqd pod etc or refurb. In particular I am wondering about Divinia since she is so old Any insight please
  18. A month later is a big change..we've seen shifts of a day or two and when the ships danced around a change in ports for departure. Did you book directly with MSC or use a TA ? I'm seeing some confusing overlap on the MSC re ships/sailings - which makes trying to choose etc problematic Noticed too a big group event on a sailing. Just stumbled upon it and wish that the lines would note that somehow if one doesn't want to be swept up into a group theme etc
  19. Had not heard of this--sounds great Will look for it next time
  20. agreed.... fwiw, IDK why it lists me as posting that in your quote,... that wasn't my post
  21. 😆 If Carnival will kick off groups for drunk disorderly etc and leave them to get their way home (in contract of carriage) then certainly MSC can address trespassing, stealing and impersonating another pax to gain entry into YC can be addressed. haha-- Keel hauled... Clever
  22. Love your quotes MOTS
  23. Exactly Really they should be put off the ship and not allowed to sail MSC again. They are breaking the contract of carriage and so on
  24. We tip out in cash Butler Asst butler Waiter Asst Waiter Somm Various bartenders in lounge and pool area including the pool attendants. the service is superb. Enjoy
  25. It can be an issue - sadly-- and butlers/security will remove them. Really it is terrible that people who don't pay for YC sneak in and basically "steal" space, food, drinks, service. Disgusting lack of character Best thing to do is be sure door closes behind you coming/going I report them when I see them. On one sailing there was a group of 6 that snuck in for lunch--and security promptly removed them On a sailing before ours-- a group damaged an electronic lock/door trying to get to the One Pool deck. It was widely reported here on CC. We've reported interlopers (as do other YC pax) at the YC Ocean Cay beach-- they try to sneak in... and staff removes them
