  1. Did the taxi stay with you or come back? Also there is no beach at Coconuts - do you mean great beach at Chen Rio? Did you walk from Coconuts to Chen Rio or did the taxi just stay with you?
  2. I think you are correct. I remember a plant bed close in front. The bed is at the side like yours but it looks smaller overall. To the side they store the floats. it also has the hammock attached to the post. Maybe we will be neighbors one day? 👍
  3. Very similar location and set up. I think ours may be slightly smaller, usually only has two chairs and the bed? I don’t know if they move the chairs around? It is certainly between the bar and the pool. I don’t remember a large piece of driftwood. But I appreciate the shade like you and it is very relaxing set back.
  4. The first one is by the car ferry between International and town. The second one is at Puerto de Abrigo, the marina just north of town.
  5. You will certainly need the cancelled invoice to show what Royal Caribbean have refunded and what you are claiming. Your Travel Agent should have provided you with a copy of this information.
  6. We have had them assigned in the past. Fortunately it wasn’t high sargassum season but it was certainly less shade than I like. The palapa we like is set back and set up like yours, maybe it is #6! In the early days of Maya Chan we were assigned a building on the far RHS with a half-brick wall at the front, on a very wet day. It was great as we had a toddler and he was able to dig in the sand completely undercover. It is a derelict building now - not sure why they stopped using it.
  7. Yes i understand what you are saying. We always try and get the same one each time too. Fortunately they have good records and know which one it is since I never remember the number. However if I saw a map I would be able to identify it or probably even suggest an alternative if it wasn’t available, because I know that one is it is a popular choice. If they suggested an alternative number I wouldn’t have a clue where it was located. I agree it is best to describe your requirements if you are new. I am not keen on the umbrellas close to the water, both because of lack of shade and proximity to sargassum, when it is bad, but those are often what are left for small parties if you book late. If I saw, on a map, I was assigned those I would decline.
  8. I have always thought a plan would be a useful addition to their website like Cabana Beach, Cozumel has. Although I know they designate them according to party size so perhaps that is the problem. I think they used to have one a long time ago before they expanded and rebuilt the cabanas but I don’t think they change and relocate them so often that it would be a problem.
  9. I assume this is the park located on the transversal? It has been there a long time and from the entrance has always looked a little run down. Considering all the activities I am surprised I have never read a review on CC about it. I have asked my local driver about it in the past and he has never told me much about it. perhaps it is under new ownership? I haven’t heard of your tour company either but I see they are located in Royal Village so maybe they are fairly new too. I look forward to your review. It sounds like a fun place.
  10. We have booked directly and through Island Marketing.
  11. I think the previous was just a promotion after Covid in fact they were even lower initially and I am still cross we didn’t have time on our land visit! Prices have been steadily rising but are still not up to what they were when they opened. The inclusions are slightly different I think. I don’t see how the park fee could ever be optional since there is really nothing to stop you accessing the park as far as I could see but perhaps it was just written off/included in the promotional price? Are they still using a back entrance for access? I know sometimes they have private events when the park is closed.
  12. Obviously more than $26, since that is the entrance fee to the park. I see the AI buffet and 2 beers for $39 on viator. I thought it used to be be an option on the Chankanaab site but not seeing it at the moment. If you can’t get a good package, price food and drinks at the beach bars are better, and pay independently. Depends how many in your party but we got a good sale price through the ship which included taxi - about $10-12 each way ( for 4).
  13. Not sure what you are looking for but I don’t think you will find much busier ports of call than those. Both are experiencing record numbers of cruisers. Whilst I personally don’t like the direction Costa Maya has taken, as far as I know there is only the water park that hasn’t re-opened. We have taken several land visits to Cozumel in 2021 and several cruise ship days in 2022 and I can’t think of anything there that hasn’t re-opened. There are several new restaurants that have opened and new accommodations being built.
  14. Nice thought, but we were also on several cruises in 2022 and that was not our experience. Obviously you picked the right ships. Other people on other ships have also reported getting vouchers to coffee shop which was our experience.
  15. I had a problem with that too, I guess unless there is noro?
  16. No that is what they had planned, - not sure exactly how much of a “water park” but certainly lagoon area with water activities and seating. That is what they were making and why the zipline was removed. Just another thing that caused controversy on Roatan regarding workers, contracts etc. i haven’t been since Covid and I am not sure if the plans are still accessible online.
  17. They built the extra pier for NCL. I presume the waterpark and activities at the port have all come to a halt? They were really busy working on it while we sat at Captain Jacks pre- Covid. Hopefully the bar has survived outside the port?
  18. Probably because your sailing is after the repositioning and hasn’t been loaded.
  19. I believe this is at Stingray Beach. We haven’t done it but seen good reviews on TA. Let us know how it goes if you do this. I am not sure whose chocolate they use. We have also done Kaokao. This is further away from the ports and although interesting it focuses just on making the chocolate.
  20. Not sure if you really mean west side, or east side? Personally would arrange for private driver (especially on a cruise ship day), which we have done many times because we like to stop for a drink. If you don’t intend to drink and insist on driving definitely a car and do your homework regarding car rentals, insurance and rental precautions. Some will tell you they always rent and have never had a problem. That’s fine just make sure you are prepared. Be careful you understand one-way system in town. If you really mean west side I would stick to taxis.
  21. Big difference between Nachi and Paradise and who it appeals to. Nachi is fine if you want AI but isn’t really what the OP was looking for.
