One of the most exciting aspects of cruising in Australia is new ships coming to Australian waters.
Who has cruised on one of these ships or are booked to cruise on one? Let us know your opinion on any new ships.

Pity they don't ask their passengers what they like. The highlight of my cruise from Singapore to Sydney was sitting on the wooden deck chairs overlooking the ocean. High tea was delivered on a tray mobile each afternoon. Looks like they just want to fit more passengers in!
Enjoy your day with Les at the Bay on Thursday, where I hope it will be cooler You can tell a local when you call it the Bay. My country relatives always called their beach the Bay. Ours is the Coast.
I did get left behind at a small port in Canada. I saw passengers waiting for boat back to ship. Decided to go to toilet nearby - big mistake! When I came out I was surprised to see an empty wharf. i don't know how the system failed as there should have been an unclaimed life jacket on the wharf. A fisherman on a boat called the pilot who came back and took me to the ship. By then the ship had identified that a passenger hadn't clocked on!
Wasn't as scary as the run along the pier in the Caribbean and boarding via crew quarters, in my youth!
Catastrophic Fire warning for Far South Coast NSW with 29 schools closed. Where is actual Far South Coast? Your area Les or your daughter's area? Fires also in Tas and Qld.
Last message from GUT2407 on 7/7, re pie franchise in NY, was on the ball until the end.
I will miss seeing his log on. I hope he knew how much we valued his input to this thread.
So sad to learn of the passing of Mr Gut. I always enjoyed his input to this cruise forum, even though he was often in poor health.
Sincere Condolences to his family. May they draw comfort from happier times spent cruising/dreaming of cruising, which he enjoyed so much.
My favourite rail trip in Canada was from
Prince Rupert overnight journey to Jasper. You book overnight accommodation in Prince George before getting back on train in time for breakfast. We spent time in Prince Rupert
and Jasper. We caught the scenic ferry to Prince Rupert from Vancouver Island.
I was very disappointed by my VIA rail trip from Toronto to Vancouver. It tended to stop in the middle of nowhere then to rush past spectacular views and cut short scheduled stops in interesting towns. Fortunately I had travelled across by Greyhound Bus so got to enjoy the scenery previously.
You might like to consider the train from
Sydney to Perth or visa versa during your travels Down Under. I loved that train trip.
I used to catch the Sunlander to North Queensland annually, which is where I developed my love of train travel.
I was very disappointed to have to cancel my cruise to Canada/Alaska. I was looking forward to meeting you. My daughter said she may be able to come with me next year, which would be wonderful.
Thanks everyone for your kind concern. I haven’t been on cruise critic recently because I was down having to cancel my cruise to Alaska. I just checked in to see how Les was going with his treatment. You are in my thoughts.
I wouldn't worry about lack of travel insurance for NZ! I knew someone who had cancer and wanted to visit NZ again, whose dr told him to go ahead with his travel plans.
Well Done. If you want to visit my favourite place in the Whitsundays, consider hiring a car to drive to Cape Gloucester Resort for lunch, with a cold drink at Dingo Beach Hotel, on the way back.
