  1. Yes, that is always an enjoyable past time, esp if it is something I like.
  2. What is your route? Heavy warm clothes will not be required in South Pacific or Queensland. from end of September, 2023.
  3. If I was immunocompromised, I would seek advice from my doctor who knows my medical situation best. You can always delay your cruise for a year, hoping the Covid situation might have improved by then.
  4. I wouldn't book ahead at the moment as there are so many last minute specials around. Just register with cruise lines of interest and they will email you when specials are available.
  5. Sorry you are having a rebound of covid symptoms and are fighting tiredness and fatigue. Thanks for the wonderful job you did sharing information on your cruise. Now is time for you to relax and take good care of yourself.
  6. If you do your research and have a particular area of interest at Te Papa, it would be achievable. However, I agree there is too much to see at Te Papa to do a "see it all" visit.
  7. You will forget the price you paid, but will have treasured memories of your experiences from this unique excursion.
  8. Enjoy your train trip south from Casino.
  9. Welcome back. I hope you had a great cruise.
  10. Welcome back. I hope you had a great time.
  11. Thank you for your photos and information. Welcome back to Brisbane this morning. Hope you had a great cruise.
  12. I agree! Buyer beware! I hope passengers are doing their own research,
  13. I had an elderly friend who used to have fluid drained from her lungs because of Pulmonary Oedema. She used to feel much better afterwards, so I hope you continue to feel much better.
  14. You will be able to see the fireworks in the sky from there. We've watched them from Drummoyne, which is a suburb further west than White Bay. Anywhere you can see the fireworks, away from the crowds, will be special.
  15. Bon Voyage - Weather forecast for Cairns on Wednesday is 24c-32c. Looks like you are going to have great summer weather for your cruise, with no rain forecast. (If you feel the heat, I take a wet washer in a plastic bag with me to put around my neck, as well as to wipe my hands.)
  16. Yes, we all have special memories of arriving in Milford Sound. We were wrapped up in blankets enjoying hot chocolate as we viewed from a special deck opened for the viewing, Aussies are lucky to have NZ so close.
  17. Yes, I thought Manhattan Christmas Lights were the most spectacular until I saw Hong Kong.
  18. North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation Limited is responsible for the ports of Abbot Point, Mackay, Hay Point and Weipa. Would any of these ports be suitable to share with cruise ships? In my youth, Mackay was the hub for tourism in the Whitsundays. Planes flew to Mackay (not Proserpine), small boats left for fishing charters, the island resorts and the Great Barrier Reef. Mackay has half a dozen beaches from which to choose. Mackay has a beautiful hinterland, Eungella National Park. I saw my first platypus in the wild there. Just 20 kilometres north of Mackay lies the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, which includes Seaforth, Halliday Bay, Ball Bay, and Cape Hillsborough. 100 kms north of Mackay is the Whitsundays, And that is just one Queensland coastal town,
  19. The current cruises to the South Pacific Islands don't excite me. Does anyone know which islands aren't accepting cruise ships at present? Or is it a matter of cruise ships wanting to do short cruises until the pandemic is more under control?
