  1. Was that to get a graduation award or is that what you wear at Work to present awards?
  2. I noticed a big change in my level of fitness when I followed the Government advice for the elderly to basically stay safe at home. The Royal Adelaide Show is the first big crowded event I've attended.
  3. It is a lovely trip from Sydney to Brisbane. My friend from NY drives the scenic coastal route from Brisbane to Sydney.
  4. If you are a frequent flyer you may be able to buy air tickets with points. I just bought ff tickets for $8,000 points but there wasn't a big choice.
  5. Anyone booked on this 7 day cruise from Brisbane to Great Barrier Reef, from 4th December, 2022?
  6. Thank you. I had better get serious researching possibilities before they run out.
  7. Maui is one of those places I wish I was there. We always did a stopover in Hawaii. I love the people, the music and the perfume of the frangipanis. Used to feel like I was home in the tropics. How is the weather?
  8. Thank you. With the current high price for domestic airfares, not having to fly is a big advantage for Brisbane passengers to be tempted!
  9. What would be the going rate for a 7 nighter solo balcony for a regular passenger? No airfares for Brisbane departure!
  10. That is a lot of walking! You will be fitter after your cruise. I did 17,000 steps over 3 days at the Royal Adelaide Show recently. No wonder I was exhausted when I got home!
  11. Are you sure? Eden Southern NSW to Airlie Beach, North Qld. mid summer doesn't seem reasonable.
  12. Yes it is definitely worth being there for a show at night, if it is something on you'd enjoy. So check what will be on in March-April, 2023. It is worth getting there early to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the unique architecture whilst looking out of the big sails at the Harbour. If there are no performances when you will be there, it would be worth going on a tour of the Opera House, as you see more of behind the scenes. I enjoy riding the ferries and having lunch at the destination (Manly, Watson's Bay)
  13. Yes they are. The British are unbelievable queuers! The British Police are second to none in their organisational skills handling huge crowds. It all just works like clockwork! I have been watching BBC which has been providing excellent coverage. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy being there!
  14. I like your logic. Hope your granddaughter received commission on the sale.
  15. Happy Birthday Julie. I hope you have an enjoyable catch up today with your granddaughter. Looks like you are blessed with relatives in ports in Australia, as well as NZ. I hope weather conditions improve so your ship can visit Adelaide as well as Kangaroo Island. Wow you must be happy with another cruise so soon. At least it will be warm weather. Bon Voyage!
  16. Yes 2 would have been a little low. When I went through Security last week, the guy commented "from Tasmania?" because of my top. I said no, but every time I visit Tasmania I have to buy extra warm winter clothes (in mid summer). Melbourne was like that also on my annual visit for the tennis in January, with four seasons in one day!.
  17. Will passengers who don't want to cruise north in mid summer be offered a full refund?
  18. Dancers are on the wharf. First cruise ship in Melbourne for almost three years. 10-17 showers, partly cloudy. Hope all passengers have a great day in Melbourne. Might be a good day to tour the Museums or Art Galleries. Otherwise if you have rain wear, touring Melbourne's unique arcades and laneway,
  19. BBC has dedicated live streaming of the public paying their final respects to the Queen as she lies in State in Westminster Hall. Members of the Public can pay their respects virtually, if they are unable to attend in person.
  20. Chanel 9 News is currently showing Coral Princess in Melbourne (Thursday, 15/9/22).
  21. 10.30 pm local time waiting for the Queen's coffin to travel to Westminster Hall from Buckingham Palace. The empty gun carriage has just appeared on the way to Buckingham Palace. The things I remember from these Royal Processions are the sounds of marching feet and the rolling wheels breaking the silence.
  22. What a time to arrive in England. Yes I'm surprised how shocked I was, as it seems were many people. it is 10.20 pm local time, as I wait for the Procession to commence from Buckingham Palace. Have a wonderful holiday at this special historic time.
  23. Thank you. Kings Counsel sounds more impressive that Senior Counsel.
  24. Yes the senior ladies from Tourist Information were quite excited about a cruise ship arriving. "Turned a bit cooler" for someone from Adelaide translates to five layers freezing weather from South Pole to someone from the tropics.
