  1. With due respect, the video clearly shows the person filming walking past the balcony, with the balcony at roughly shoulder height. Sounds like Sapphire doesn’t have them though by your post.
  2. Just watched a Cruise Monkeys review of the Grand. Shocked to see some ‘balcony’ cabins forward on deck 8 which have the Promenade Deck running in front of them and are so covered and set back into the hull I couldn’t class them as a balcony cabin. We’re booking a guarantee, which worries me, but we have 2 itineraries. The other is on Sapphire - does that also have those faux balconies on 8? n N
  3. Looking at a 14 day Alaska cruise, trying to decide between 2 itineraries. Big ticket for DW is whales, are we more likely to see wildlife in GB or Hubbard?
  4. Flew LHR to SFO, UK citizen, was in the hotel in Milbrae inside of an hour of the plane landing at SFO 😲 Never would have believed that possible through a US airport. No forms, short queues, great Immigration staff. The world’s gone weird……😀
  5. Definitely not Dolphin on last cruise. Regularly went to Dolphin on midship elevators, corridor open both ways.
  6. I was just on Enchanted, Dolphin aft, wake facing cabin, no quarantine cabins there now. It was more forward on our cruise, but I can’t remember the deck I saw the closed corridor doors.
  7. On Enchanted there is a euro plug behind the bed, don’t believe the Steward if they say there isn’t. DW currently has her cpap plugged into that very outlet on the left of the bed as you look at it, didn’t notice if there was one on the right too. Just pull the bed forward, it’s quite light, and there it is. The Steward did bring us an extension lead, cos she insisted there wasn’t a plug we could use behind the bed, but it was a real weird one, we left it in the wardrobe.
  8. They do these days: https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/search-cruises/index.html?CType=1&Regions=The Americas %26 Caribbean Haven’t searched to see if US departures have different requirements, but equally haven’t seen anything so far to say they do.
  9. Yeah - I’m being sarcastic. As many have said, we just need to get on with life now. If you don’t want the risk don’t do the thing. That goes for everything including getting on a ship or crossing the street.
  10. One reason is because as soon as you get off at a port stop, and then get back on again that pre-boarding test becomes irrelevant. Maybe they need to require a new test every time people come back on board after a port stop, including ship excursions. If you prove positive they get your luggage from the room and disembark you. I guess that might cut the infection rate. Definitely kill the cruise industry, but - hey - at least we wouldn’t catch covid on a ship.
  11. Yep - on Enchanted USB sockets on the base of the lamps on each side of the bed. I plug my phone in as the clock/alarm just as you describe.
  12. Not had one in our cabin, or at least not noticed one. They’re cheap enough, bring a couple of US and a couple of EU and you’re set for using all the sockets.
  13. Personally totally in favour of getting rid of all restrictions, but here’s some of the weirdness of Princess rules witnessed. Full theatre for performance - no mask required. Queuing to get in theatre for shore excursion - no mask required. Princess staff putting 12 people in a lift to get down to the gangway - no mask required. Sitting on full excursion bus for 1.5 hour trip out and 1.5 hour trip back - no mask required. Queuing 20 minutes to get into MDR - no mask required. ….it’s coming…. Half empty tender vessel with windows and sides open, along with open access to the top deck - Princess staff telling us masks are compulsory. Anyone care to explain that one😀
  14. On Enchanted now - I can confirm the previous post, you’ll need adaptors.
  15. Seriously - don’t bother. I gave up too, there was no blue or green line until you got through the queue into the terminal then the blue was shorter anyway. Just take the docs, screen shot or whatever with you and don’t stress.
  16. With P+ each person gets their own allowance so DW can switch between her 2 devices and so can I.
  17. Go to Medallion app on the device you want to swap to, scroll down to MedallionNet and it gives you the option to swap devices. Took me a little while to work it out, but it swaps immediately.
  18. On Enchanted at the moment. 2 queues for MDR, one for booked, one for walk-ins. Booked queue is generally longer and doesn’t move any faster. 20-25 mins queue to get seated when turning up at around 8.00 - 8.10. No pagers. Met a few people (in the queue!) saying they couldn’t book and were told just to show up. Maitre D did ask us last night how long we queued for so clearly recognise there’s a problem. Buffet tonight cos can’t keep queuing like that. Worried everyone else will have same idea and we end up queuing at the buffet! Other than that (and the hour + queue at the port just to get in the terminal), great ship, great staff, great food. Great to be back on a ship.
  19. So sorry to hear this. Always enjoyed, and was informed by, your husband’s posts. My condolences to you and your family. N
