  1. This is from the current known issue cheat sheet: MedallionNet Rare issue. If MedNet cannot be pre-purchased via MCA, the guest may purchase on embarkation day onboard. It is the same price pre-cruise vs. onboard. If Plat/Elite guest is attempting to pre-purchase and MCA does not reflect 50% off discount, the guest may still purchase (at full cost) and the different will be credited to them onboard by means of OBC Rare issue? Doesn't seem so rare. I'm firmly in the camo of being unable to get the 50% discount for elite in the app. I'm debating paying full price as I would use the OBC, but I don't want to have to fight for it onboard. I'm debating waiting until I'm on the ship, but I'm still concerned the price will be higher despite what it says above...
  2. They didn't mention UK passengers in the webinar but did imply that it would be open to anyone with a paid cruise fare. For those of us who book in CAD, the bid will be priced in CAD but not the "locked in" rate that you get when you book...the current Princess rate (might be good or bad, depending on exchange rate). The other thing to note is that this will start rolling out on Sep 6th for sailings beginning Oct 1st (initially on a few select ships to get the bugs worked out...maybe they are learning from the app disaster?)
  3. FAQs on upgrade process. The webinar is today, so more should come to light afterwards, too... Princess_Upgrade_FAQs.pdf
  4. Oooh, I had forgotten about your NYC trip. Looking forward to it - when I lived in Boston, we would go to NYC once a month for the weekend. One of my fave cities - and the Staten Island ferry is awesome!
  5. 's actually 3/4th guest sail free and doesn't apply to all cruises. If you do a search, the cruises thatqualify have a red banner with the offer!
  6. This is minisuite for 4 on Royal - no issue with getting to balcony
  7. This is from Royal - balcony with pullman down (couldn't use balcony when bed lowered due to it being blocked by the bed BUT if you are ok to crawl under it, it's not an issue)
  8. Technically, yes - you can purchase just the Premier drink package onboard BUT it wouldn't be an upgrade. This means that you wouldn't pay only the difference between Plus and Premiere, you would pay the full cost of the Premiere package.
  9. Agree - I was referring more to knowing what your limit is in terms of $$$ and not to keep upping the bid to the point where you end up losing even if you win (sometimes just calling to pay an upgrade isn't even that much when there are price drops...)
  10. I wonder if the bidding system will work as well as the app...as long as you don't have to use the app to bid I think it's a great idea. I bid with NCL pretty much every booking. Sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not. I have a maximum price I'm willing to pay and won't go higher - it's no different to playing roulette. You have to know when to walk away!
  11. Would the sailings longer than 16 days be under the "enhanced guidelines" cruises? I would assume those longer sailings are Transatlantic/Transpacific/Panama Canal/Special Voyages...
  12. As a fellow Canadian, I agree 100%! I'm in Vancouver and find it completely baffling that I can do anything/everything without showing proof of vaccination/testing (and, here in BC, we are still not able to get 4th boosters if under 65 so the majority of fully vaxxed folks are well past 6 months at this point) but I can't take a cruise without doing so. Equally baffling is the fact that I could take a 7 day cruise Vancouver-Anchorage, would need to test negative prior to boarding but could pick up the virus either on the ship or in port. I could then fly back to Canada without any test... I'm not saying I'm against the testing, etc. I just want it to make sense and be consistent with what is going on everywhere else!
  13. Good luck! Maybe do the math of what it would cost to have Plus added ($50 pp pd) and if it would be worth doing that to use the FCCs - if you plan on buying wifif and a couple of drinks anyways, it might be worth it. You can use FCC for that definitely!!!!
  14. I'm pretty sure you would need to have them do it, but you can try it yourself if you go to payments in your personaliser and choose the prepay grats option. It will come up with the payment options and, if you can do it that way, will deduct FCC from total. If it shows full amount, you would need to call.
  15. You could also use it to add on Plus or Premium if you have enough to cover that. Then you have drinks, wifi, gratuities all paid in advance...
  16. I thought Spotlight Bar on Discovery was pretty awesome, but it's definitely time to change things up a little!
  17. According to my Journey View it's Encore, Colours of The World and Sweet Soul Music. Seen them all before - none are my faves...
  18. Last time I purchased the wine package was on a 2019 Alaska sailing. It wasn't advertised and we were told by several people that the package had been discontinued. We were fortunate to have an outstanding head waiter (Irina) who went above and beyond in getting the package for us and it was worth every penny! I haven't heard anyone mention it recently, but whether that's because it has been discontinued or because no one knows about it, I'm not sure!
  19. Thanks for this! I'm not a huge wine drinker, but do enjoy a glass of Pinot Grigio with dinner - looks as if I only have one choice of that under Plus package. Even Attems (which was one of the limited choices available prior to the package addition) is no longer included.... I'm curious - looking at Crown Grill wine choices, there seems very few listed by glass, and those that are listed are over the $12 covered by Plus. So, if dining at Crown Grill, I assume you could request a wine covered by the package, albeit from another bar?
  20. I don't recall Plus ever including specialty dining? Wasn't it just an added promo? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like I've been buying/selling Plus since it started and don't recall dining being included. There were many times that the dining was an additional promo at time of booking, though...if it were included and now isn't, then yes that blows!
  21. There are quite strict rules - if you are before final payment, you would need to cancel your current booking and rebook under new promo. There is no refaring for this offer so you would need to check which booking is better for you. Anything you have under your current booking would be lost and you would receive whatever promo is offered for this sale instead - sometimes it works better, sometimes not...
  22. Same book - I believe they are all digital now so you should be sent a link or attachment and you can show on your device or print prior to leaving.
  23. Sometimes you can get a great deal as they often have group rates - I just booked a holiday cruise on Ruby and got the group rate that includes plus perks for almost the same price as the Princess standard rate that doesn't include perks. Plus the OBC.
