I’ll be on NS over for 10 days over Christmas. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in 7 versus 10 day holiday cruises.

Yes, that is what I did. I walked past everyone waiting on line and went to the entrance. My experience was that in order to enter the building I showed the man standing there checking boarding passes mine. When he saw I was 5* I was able to go right in, but then I stood in a line to get through security. Once through security, I walked in to the main part of the terminal where they take your picture. Someone looked at my boarding pass and sent me to the 4/5 star entrance instead of standing in another line. I was able to walk right up, get my picture taken and then go on the ship. Hope that helps.

Well, I have tried to answer you twice in great detail and both times my whole post disappeared after spending about 15 minutes writing it! So, I will just say to not be concerned. You will have a great time. Maybe if I have time tomorrow, I will go in to more detail about what I experienced.

No. The line for Neptune/4 and 5 star is only after you go through security inside.

I was on Koningsdam two weeks ago. I did see lots of cost cutting and it didn’t seem like they had enough help. I still had a great cruise. But, I filled out my questionnaire after I got back and let them know, both pros and cons. I think that’s the best course of action.

Wow. I was on the Zuiderdam last February for 35 days and it was my best cruise ever. 🤷‍♀️

Yes. That is correct. I am 5* and just cruised out of SD last week. You can go at any time, as long as it is after 10:30 am. Only if you are 4 or 5*, though.

I still love HAL. I've seen many changes, but it's the way things are now. I just got off the Koningsdam and it was fantastic.

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to get an Uber when disembarking in San Diego? If so, was it hard to get or did it take a long time before they showed up? Thanks for any info!

I think you would love a Viking River cruise. It is a totally different experience than an ocean cruise. We did Budapest to Amsterdam on three rivers and it was so amazing to be so close to shore and see everything up close while cruising and see how the captain maneuvers around bends in the river with those long boats. They provide a guided excursion in each port, but we opted to do everything on our own. The docks are right in town, so we just walked off the boat and did our own thing. Going through the locks is an amazing experience. The entertainment is nothing like on a cruise ship, though. They bring local talent in to entertain in the evening on some days and other days had no entertainment And, if I remember correctly, the bar wasn’t open all the time. Just in the evening. We met some great people and are talking about doing it again. I just hate the long flights, but, oh, well. 🙂 An unforgettable trip. Go for it!

I really don’t know why. I have the Have It All package and I assumed it was because I went from an interior to a verandah and it was part of that package. But after your question, I went and looked at the benefits included in the HIA again and there is no OBC included in the package. So, it’s a mystery. But, I’ll take it. LOL

I just accepted an upsell from an interior with Have It All to a balcony with HIA and received an additional $100 OBC.

My November 5 cruise on the California coast is sold out. I, for one, will miss the 60% full cruises. They were pretty nice. 😀
