  1. I am wondering why there are no cruises to Mexico or the Caribbean showing yet for 2023 in November or December. Is it possible HAL won’t be sailing there then or is it just too early for those itineraries to show up? I like doing Mexico or the Caribbean over Christmas and New Years.
  2. That is the way I understand it according to the CDC website. You are still considered fully vaccinated for the cruise, just not “up to date”, so you would need to do your test 2 days before the sail date if you are over 50 and you only have one booster. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html#recommendations
  3. Thank you. I ended up having to call Carnival to get it rectified. I’m good to go, now. 👍
  4. I wish you were right, but I think you are mistaken. I copied this from the Carnival website and it says “up to date” is when one has all recommended boosters. TESTING REQUIREMENTS Except where destination requirements differ*, guests who are up to date with their vaccines may take their test within three days prior to sailing. Up to date means a guest has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccinations, including any booster dose, when eligible. Example: For a sailing departing on Saturday, guests may take their test as early as Wednesday and as late as Saturday morning, if guaranteed to receive results in time for check-in. If a guest is fully vaccinated but not up to date with their vaccines, they must take their pre-cruise COVID-19 test within two days prior to sailing. If you are eligible for a booster and have not received one, you are not considered up to date. Example: For a sailing departing on Saturday, guests may take their test no earlier than Thursday and as late as Saturday morning, if guaranteed to receive results in time for check-in.
  5. FYI: CDC now says to be fully “up to date” on vaccines, you must have a 2nd booster if you are over 50 and first booster was more than 4 months ago. I am over 50, had my only booster last January, so I am no longer up to date. So, I have to test two days before sailing.
  6. Thanks. I just reserved with them for our December cruise. I emailed them and got a prompt reply.
  7. Got it! Thank you once again to CC members that post these things. I love CC. I learn so much!
  8. I have called HAL before when I couldn’t access my boarding pass and they have emailed my boarding pass to me.
  9. I usually sail HAL, but I’m booked on Carnival next month. I appreciate the comparisons. It will be interesting. I have also sailed Carnival and on my previous carnival cruises, I have always felt that Carnival’s entertainment is much better, but it’s been a few years since I cruised with them. I’ve seen all the HAL shows many times. I guess that’s what happens when you cruise one line almost exclusively. 🙂
  10. Thank you, ladysail. It did show up right after my post, so I edited it. 🙂
  11. I called and was on the line with a rep for about 40 minutes while he spoke with online support and they sorted things out. He finally came back on the phone and said it was all taken care of and assured me that my steakhouse reservation with time and date would now show up in my booking. I just looked and it’s there! Thanks everyone. I can’t wait for this cruise. Can I leave today?? LOL
  12. It doesn't show in my Booking and Order Details. I figured that is where it would show. I guess I have to call. Thank you all.
  13. I haven’t sailed Carnival in a while. Yesterday I booked a cruise on Panorama. I also made a steakhouse reservation for the first night and I paid for it. I received a receipt by email, but it didn’t show the date or time. When I go to my booking, it isn’t showing on my itinerary. Should I be concerned? I don’t want to get on board and find that they can’t find my reservation. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for any help or insight!
