  1. I can't say how they work on Prima and Viva. We've had both outside ones and inside, large tub like ones on the ships. Even had tub one at home that we pulled out. Gem outside did not have a heater, water had to be filled, drained nightly. POA had heater and jets. Used it most of 10 day trip on and off during the day - had several sea days. No one got sick and no one used it as a toilet. Was drained daily. Inside ones I usually do a fill, run, empty, rinse before I'll go for a spin. Prima had a ton of jets. Other ships similar. I do understand if there is CDC guidance, don't think I've actually seen it posted here, they should follow it. The problem seems to be no notice at time of booking where the fare should be reduced off the bat.
  2. NCL is paying the guest? Or is the guest getting a slight reduction in fare in form of obc, which when you factor in various markups on whatever they buy, is a fraction of the $500.
  3. You can do all the math you want, but FDR got the $5.00 plus many times over many years ago.
  4. I do recall either a discount or free FR first day. Have not seen mentioned long time.
  5. Welcome to CC. Depends when you go. Summer, spring break, holidays likely yes. However, we sailed once in early June to the Baltics and there were 56 kids total. Luckily the room next door had two kids same ages as ours.
  6. Welcome to CC. I'm working hard to not be sent in the afterlife to a non heaven suite. However, I have visited, treading lightly, that town in Grand Cayman several times. I even have a t-shirt to prove it.
  7. So the usual lack of good management persists on this ship is what I'm reading. That was our experience. We didn't get any post cruise grow operation pictures. Did they all survive?
  8. Buffet has staples and some variety of options. If anything, I've seen buffet have items on previous night mdr the next night in buffet.
  9. Not sure why TV even coming into play. Seeing the channel selection will not induce you to watch it.
  10. Paul Gauguin does it on the end. They arrive back around 5pm and sit overnight. At least they used to. You could catch a late evening flight back or disembark in the morning, explore or go to a resort for flight later that day. That was awhile ago though.
  11. I know question not asked, but note on POA they won't deliver breakfast from Cagneys.
  12. I'd pop in some motors and remote controls and run that baby around the lake. I'll need Ocean's Thirteen to first acquire it for me. Actually, since Italian build, I'll source those from The Italian Job.
  13. Good thinking. Actually Sky and Sun are sisters nearly identical. Sky spent some time as Pride of Aloha mid 2000s when they had three ships in Hawaii. Star and Dawn sisters. Spirit oldest in fleet and we've sailed twice and really like her. They have since done nice drydock on Spirit. They've been doing those Tahiti runs on Spirit last few years. They've been able to command high prices but we'd do Paul Gauguin again if we were to go back. We had a 2012 Baltics booked on Jewel in aft balc but they changed it to the Sun. Was not thrilled and not same room for four available on Sun. They put us in an aft mini which are probably the best in the fleet. Really don't have any interest in Sun or Sky. Star and Dawn we've sailed three times no issues and would go again. They have had issues over the years though.
  14. Our TA I thought it was very odd why we had such steep and high spot to exit ship. It was by the bar, forgot name, deck six. Do they have other, lower options?
  15. No, not on. I believe I saw that. We've sailed MSC like ten times, all YC, between Divinia, Seaside, and Mera. Last trip last October. Nothing booked this year.
  16. Glad you have good memories of the times. I was in Zeebrugge late 80's and recall buying stroopwafels and the canals then watching Miami Vice with English subtitles late in the day. Oh, and the same trip being able to drive on German autobahn.....in a dinky Opel.
  17. You'll want to seek out the stroopwafels. I did see McDs had a stroopwafel coffee but not sure if in US. Got some at Costco a couple years ago. Kids not interested.
  18. Did you steal the tray so you could put your European cans of coke zero on them? I see the waffle place hasn't quite matched US superiority with a place that came up with 31 flavors of ice cream.
  19. Is that lady in first picture laughing at your over packed vest? I don't know what I'm going to do when I can't pick on you next week. Maybe I'll troll the Carnival boards.
  20. Thanks. She is similar as Meraviglia, but Mera plus class, which we've sailed Mera five times. That glass area vertical in front of blue funnel is the panoramic lift if I've got my recollection correct. We had the room right above the bridge for 14 days, not.
