  1. We stayed in 16702. One of the worst rooms ever due to movable wall to the OS to the left. It leaked noise like crazy even though neighbors were talking in normal levels. But if you are sailing with family than maybe ok. The room behind has more of a traditional door and never heard a peep of the family of three. I've only read one or two reports over the years of people booking both and opening the wall. There is a wrap around balcony but they put in a door divider as it turns the corner which even in Port is a safety hazard as it acts like a sail when not latched.
  2. Welcome to CC. Actually you are encouraged to speed as they have a leader board.
  3. At least they are small plastic cups that they fill with ice, serve a weak tap cocktail that costs $13 plus 20% unless have a package.
  4. Sorry for such bad experiences. I don't think much can be done at this point other than to spend money elsewhere. We had one bad sailing on RCCL years ago, wrote office, nothing. Never going to spend a dollar with them again. I think your best bet would have to videoed what you could on social media. From similar stories here over the years there seems to have been little resolution afterwards or if there is, people not sharing. I know on our recent Prima trip a couple was going back and forth about an issue for quite some time with no resolution for what ever their issue was. Their only take away was documenting names of those at the desk and the time. You did a great job documenting here so ignore those that become defensive.
  5. Right, the theatres are nearly identical Star and Dawn unless they have changed in a recent refurb.
  6. Good luck to OP. We, along with a few others, waited 16 months for monies owed on a POA sailing.
  7. Thanks all of those with live experiences and sorry for the experience you had to get on ship. When Epic first sailed out of there it was a disaster but they got things working much better so it is odd things lapsed here. I did check two hours later and it was pretty well opened. We've sailed out of that pier on the Gem and it wasn't really designed for a ship that size or even for two ships at the same time.
  8. I've seen sports drinks in vending machines on NCL in the gyms.
  9. The Dawn and Star used to have OS on 9 & 10 forward. DOS with two layouts were added on 12 around ten years ago when they removed the forward observation lounge. Those DOS have no outside space. Last couple years they changed the ones on 10 to DOS with two balconies so they could charge more as people liked 10 better than 9. Both types on 9 & 10 have a master with full bathroom and heavy pocket doors and drapes to separate from living room. In living room is a couch for guests 3 & 4. There is a small powder room just by door to get into room. It has a toilet and sink. These OS, as well as many existing suites, were expanded from 2 guests to 3 or 4 depending on size of how big of a couch they could fit. That happened right around when rooms on 12 were added. We actually sailed Star in a DOS in 12 when they had a bunch of the white leather type couches staged on a lower deck in a common area.
  10. Gummy bears, peanut mms, milk, fruit, root beer.
  11. Unless recent change, no bts tour. Winemaking capacity controlled.
  12. Our last trip the concierge made more effort in providing a letter that they were not in dsc pool as were the butlers than offering any service while onbord.
  13. We just did the TA. Not sure of your stops but Iceland didn't matter. It was an industrial port where you had to walk five minutes or take a shuttle to meeting point. Few taxis. First day we walked to church as a group and taxi back. Second day was private excursion.
  14. Good for you. Seems NWS and all followers over played this storm for days.
  15. Did Epic just come from a TA?
  16. Epic in San Juan. Traffic crazy busy this late. Unusual at 2:30.
  17. All Haven trips we've been on have a large fabric bag. We send out whenever and back next day or day after. Never had issues with any shrinkage or damage.
  18. The Haven experience can vary widely for people. It sounds like you got a very proactive shoreside concierge which is unusual. The biggest benefits we like are in room breakfast on shore days. You can order off the Haven menu. They won't bring drinks under a package to room though.
  19. Those check in folks are not NCL employees. Not suggesting that what happened was ok, just adding info.
  20. Thanks MKing for the info. Seems like the Grinch is being very active lately, for our convenience, of course. Where we live, the NCL normal food and drink prices are way high to what land based are. We just added a third room to our Feb. MSC YC trip. MSC dsc 1/2 of the new NCL Haven dsc, for our convenience, of course. Is this also going to increase the fees on the 'free' dining packages?
  21. I've found Lats Desk to be a waste of time in responding and comprehension of request lacking. Good luck.
  22. Did they offer return of port fees? If not, I'm sure we'll have someone chime in that due to change they shifted the port fees to Lisbon for extra time there but it does seem proactive to get there before strike. My question is if you stay overnight what is the impact? Maybe have to take own luggage off?
  23. Gold level really gets you nothing. Even highest levels they really could care less. Bottom line, plan in suite getting breakfast and lunch at special restaurant but other two rooms no. Anything beyond that would be upside.
  24. Ships are like food, often subjective to peoples' tastes. We stayed in best room on BA and the ship not our favorite. We would not spend money to go on BA or GA again. BA just too crowded and poor flow. We did Escape and loved it. Also did Prima and a nice ship. That does have observation lounge but the few times we went through it was like a nursing home with folks spread out sleeping taking up every bit of furniture they could put a body part on. It is a tough balance if having public venues and revenue generating spaces. That said, we too love Spirit and have sailed twice and would go again but prices too high.
