Have my first ever Panama Canal transit booked for early 2025, ‘Eastbound’ with a full day at Fuerte Amador. Very much looking forward to crossing off another Bucket List item.

This sounds promising. I’d love to have one as an eventual transit souvenir. I have a certificate from having crossed the equator in 1979 from my Navy days.

Lovely review as always and great pictures! Are the Panama Canal Certificates standard issue for everyone aboard when doing a transit on Princess Cruises?

I would have had zero problem in the beginning taking all of the stuff off the table and putting it back up on the shelves, in the corner, or on a window ledge.

Today’s track had ICON arriving at the entrance to the ship channel at 2:15am and at the turning basin at 3am with four ships coming in behind her.

The ship looks absolutely stunning, LOVE the posted video Matt did on Royal Caribbean Blog (I’ve watched it twice). There are so many amazing dining restaurants, bars, lounges, eateries, entertainment venues, and places just to hang out. It’s mind-blowing. I’d spend a week just taking pictures! For someone who has zero desire to sail her, I seriously have to stop watching ICON stuff because I keep checking the prices just to see if I want to cancel my 16-night Panama Canal cruise. Focus, stay with Princess Cruises, I need to focus! 🤣

Anyone know what time ICON is scheduled to arrive at the Miami ship channel entrance tomorrow morning?

So true. I can appreciate just how stunning ICON is, watch in total awe as she maneuvers in and out of Miami, gawk and gape at images of her interiors and upper decks, and eagerly feed off of the FB updates and YouTube videos. But at the same time I can have zero desire to sail on her. I’m booked on something way, way, way smaller than ICON for 16-nights with almost no bells and whistles, and that’s fine by me. ICON is not for everyone, and as one of those people I can still admire what an achievement she is, and know that some people want this ship in their life more than any other cruise ship in the world. And that’s fine too. To each their own. Live and let live. Be kind to each other. 😎

You’re definitely much more learned about these things than I am. Not wanting to overdose on All Things Panama Canal, I need to take a break for a while so that I’m not burned out before my cruise even gets here in a year.
