  1. And a couple extra just for good measure 😉 Looks like were cross-filling the opposite lock in the first picture. 😁
  2. Tuira II at the ‘far end’ of the lock being joined by the vehicle carrier Grand Mark. …from Marine Traffic
  3. Here’s the Tuira II heading into the Pedro Miguel Lock (right edge of the picture)
  4. @BillB48 I’m thinking they may be on the Tuira II and it’s passing now under Centennial Bridge heading for the Pedro Miguel Locks
  5. If and when you get confirmation on which tour ship they are on please post here and tag both myself and @Essiesmom so that we can be on the lookout for the correct ship. 😁
  6. Here are the picture profiles for Pacific Queen and the Tuira II
  7. Same here with the ‘soft spot’ for the original. After my mom passed away in 1997 I took my dad on Royal Princess for a getaway change of scenery - it's one of my fondest memories of being with him and really getting to know him. Dad passed in 2021.
  8. …and today the Artania (ex-Royal Princess; ex-Artemis) of Phoenix Reisen cruises.
  9. Two transits of note recently: The super-yacht styled cruise ship Emerald Azzura of Emerald Cruises passed through yesterday… https://www.emeraldcruises.com/our-fleet/our-yachts/emerald-azzurra-sakara
  10. I’ve actually been watching the Pacific Queen for the last several days, it’s come up on one of the tours that I’m looking at doing next January. Here’s a screen grab I did of her on Sunday with the Tuira II on a southbound tour. I’ll keep an eye out for her tomorrow and take some new screen grabs. 😁
  11. I’ll definitely have to make sure not to miss it then! 🎟️
  12. Pre-COVID pandemic I use to make several trips a year to NYC to see Broadway shows, had yearly Broadway season subscriptions to the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh, and made road-trips to Cleveland, Baltimore, and Philadelphia (saw POTO there again, at the absolutely breathtaking Academy of Music) for the National Tours. Rarely did I ever see a national tour show (most of the sets were quite well done) that matched the Broadway production since the latter are more-or-less long-term where the theater and its stage can be physically altered to match that show. Moulin Rouge at the Hirshfeld Theater is another good example with the entire theater walls being draped in stunning red velvet. Loved seeing all of those the National Tours that I attended, but the pandemic killed that spark in me. I hope ‘On the Bayou’ is as fun as I’ve read. Maybe it’ll rekindle that interest in me. 😉
  13. How many times during a cruise does it show? I’ll be on Coral Princess for 16-nights, so I’m hoping to catch it a couple of times. I also have the Princess Premiere package that offers reserved seating for production shows. Is ‘On the Bayou’ considered a production show instead of a cabaret-type show?
  14. I did see Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theater on Broadway. The sets were stunning - the massive and breathtaking proscenium arch, the huge staircase during the Masquerade ball scene, and especially when the forrest of candelabras rise from the lake in the lair beneath the opera house. All of this specifically designed for that theater. I may have read somewhere that ‘On the Bayou’ was specifically designed for the the Universe Lounge? Albeit on a much smaller stage than POTO, I wonder if that attributes to its longevity.
  15. You’ve been around long enough to know that thread drift is a fact of life on Cruise Critic. And after six pages of opinions, interpretations, and comments it’s safe to say threads like these really need to be locked so that someone can just start another one. However, it’s really, really nice to be allowed to chime in on a thread after someone discovers they’ve deprived themselves from the pleasures of the MDR for no good reason at all. And if that bothers you, and all of the irrelevant posts make you eye-roll, then don’t read them. It is just that simple. 😎
  16. My current variety of food intake is fairly average at best. I’m a simple guy, almost never dine out at restaurants, and don’t cook (everything is microwaved). So I am positive the MDR food even on regular nights will be a step up from any fast food or frozen burrito regiment I’m stuck in. Will have to see if someone will post the MDR menus later this year so I can get a feel on how much Tums to pack. 😉
  17. Well, now I’m getting even more excited! All of that lobster and fancy meals I missed out on lol, can’t wait to see what the MDR menus have in store for me. The planning stages have just begun, this is going to be amazing! 😁
  18. Good question OP, I’ll be needing that laundry room around the corner from my cabin next cruise: plan on packing about 1/2 of what I’ve taken on previous cruises. Anyone know what the washer/dryer cost is per cycle? 😁
  19. Same here. Having not partaken of the MDR ‘better meals’ just to avoid formal night crowds - and expecting three formal nights this next cruise - I wonder what would happen if I showed up dressed in maybe some dockers and a polo shirt? I’d still want to eat solo, not much for being a ‘social butterfly’ (a complete introvert). 😎
  20. I’ll be 65 on my next cruise - 16nts Panama Canal - and I travel solo. Quit wearing suits and tuxes decades ago, it’s my choice. I do stay away from the MDR on formal nights (and for the most part any public spaces where formal night events are happening), just feels weird (and a bit disrespectful) being alongside so many people who have gone that extra mile to sparkle. Personally I mostly use the Specialty Restaurants (earliest seating), lido buffet, burger/pizza joints, or order room service on formal nights, it’s easier and quicker. Will have to use the MDR for dinner more often this next cruise since the ship has a lot fewer dining venues to ‘hide’. 😁
  21. By time I board Coral Princess in early 2025 ‘On the Bayou’ would have been running for over 13 years. Is this the longest show ever to run on Princess Cruises?
  22. Still would have zero problems with moving all of this to ‘another location’. Accord for the OP it sat there for hours and hours and hours. Brings a whole new perspective to ‘the dog ate my homework’ when it becomes ‘I went on a cruise and my homework just disappeared’. If it’s that important, don’t abandon it. 😎
  23. Those maps are really nice! THANKS for the link! 😁 https://vallartainfo.com/downtown-map/
  24. Superb article with really great pictures! I’ll be there in January 2025 traveling solo on a cruise ship. This seems like a very safe and delightful way to spend the day.
