  1. Each cabin will have Carnival beach towels that you can bring with you. BUT, if you don't bring them back, you onboard account will be charged at the end of the cruise
  2. ANd that is exactly my point- stuff happens and stuff gets cancelled. But it is how it is HANDLED is the key. Princess dropped the ball in this instance IMHO.
  3. Possibly, I don't know because I was never told. Like I said, the way it was handled is what really bothered me. I never got a notification, just saw the refund on my account.
  4. Had a similar experience on our May Princess Royal cruise. Our party of 4 had booked a whale watching tour in Juneau right after we booked- over a year out!. Fast forward to the cruise, the other couple we were cruising with asked if we had gotten the letter about out excursion being cancelled. I was like "what letter?" We had been cancelled. All 4 of us. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE EXCURSION. By the time the excursion desk had re-opened and we got to the counter, the only excursion left was a walking tour. One of the main reasons we went to ALaska was to see whales. Adding insult to injury, table mates at dinner the following night were raving about how many whales they saw on this excursion. Never really found out why we were bumped and no explanation as to why hubbs and I were never really notifed and given a chance to book another excursion. We also are seasoned cruisers ( Viking-both river ad ocean, Disney, MSC and Carnival. 29 cruises in all) and have had excursions cancelled before, but because of circumstances. Never been picked out because we were new to a line ( yea first with Princess). So very disappointed not only by the cancelled excursion but the cavalier way it was handled.
  5. We LOVE the Elation. Booked to go on our 5th cruise on her this Feb. And I agree with you about the food in the MDR ( never had a problem, some things I like better than others). Same with the piano bar and getting drinks in the casino. DId you get a chance to visit the Alchemy bar? We snagged a balcony on the Panorama deck and the ALchemy bar is literally around the corner from our cabin😁. Also did you hapen to notice when the coffee shop opens? That too is also very close. Glad you had fun and thanks in advance! baf
  6. No. We had different packages. Hubbs was while playing in the casino ONLY. We were at a bar NOT at the casino, so he would be charged for those drinks.
  7. My understanding that if the gold members are in the same cabin or are minors, they can board with the platinum members. I may be wrong tho.
  8. I have actually had a bartender suggest we do it. I had DOU everywhere and hubbs had DOU while in the casino. We were at another bar ( not in the casino) and the bartender said if we wait 5 min she could make/charge hubbs drink to my DOU everywhere account. We said that it was ok, just go ahead and charge his card ( we had plenty of OBC to use up anyway).
  9. Has anyone heard when Carnival will release 2025 cruise dates? Trying to co-ordinate a transatlantic with a Mediterranean cruise. Thanks in advance! baf
  10. I for one am glad about the changes. While I have never had a bad meal in the MDR ( guess I'm easy to please because I'm not cooking or cleaning up 😏), change is good. I am sure I will find something I like. Wonder if they will offer half portions, hate to waste food...
  11. Never had trouble getting a water the same time as my drink. Never tried to do a soda and alcohol together.
  12. While I understand the op's frustration, policing language would be difficult ( and really not Carnival's job). What is offensive to some might not be to others. Security is to monitor for safety and for breaking the very broad rules. Offensive language does not fall into either category IMHO baf
  13. Whether or not you agree with the situation/parenting is not the issue. The op asked a question and was seeking answers. As more experienced cruisers, some of us may have the answer(s) she needs. To the op, you can stop by guest services and place either a daily limit or cruise length limit on her card. Then you can check you account on your stateroom tv ( or on the ap on your phone) daily as a double check. I have done that many times for our son when he was younger. He had the ability to check himself in/out of the kids club since the age of 10. We had set up check in times thruout the day and a curfew at night ( yea he did try that curfew-once- until he found out we meant business when he was grounded to the cabin the next day😉). We didnt want him to spend a lot buying candy for his new friends. It worked for us-hope this helps
  14. Both hubbs and I are green lane and have an arrival time/group. I can get both of us fo show on the web version of Ocean Ready, but not on my phone ap. Does hubbs have to have is own account and download the ap on his phone? He is tech illiterate and I usually handle all of that for him. Thanks in advance! baf
  15. Just wanted to give a shout out to Capt. John and Island Breeze Charters in Grand Cayman. We booked based on reviews and was sooo glad we did. We were a party of 11- 5 adults and 6 kids (2-14). If we had booked this excursion via the cruise ship it would have been $870 total. For $180 more we chartered Capt John and his boat for a 3.5-4 hour private excursion to Stingray City and Starfish beach. It was sooo much fun and we could go at our own pace. Capt John and his first mate are so knowledgeable and were so patient with our large group. We looked over at one of the ship's excursion groups ( about 35-40 people) and really appreciated the individualized attention we got. HIGHLY recommend this charter!
  16. My health questionnaire is different. I pulled this from my travel documents for my upcoming APril 9 cruise
  17. we are traveling with 6 kids, ages 2-14, so we will have to hit the buffet on embarkation day. Thinking I will just get myself an adult beverage, sit and watch all the frantic activity...😉
  18. Not to mention if one is trying to plan an excursion with an independent tour company......
  19. Carnival does embarkation port time thruout the cruise too. Thanks for the info!
  20. Recent Caribbean cruisers, does MSC change ship time to match for local times when in port? Other cruise lines I hve been on ( Carnival for ex ) use the time zone from their embarkation port. Does MSC do this? Or do they change to the port time while in port? We booked an independent excursion in Grand Cayman and while there is a 3 hour window at the end of the excursion ( so plenty of time to get back to the ship), not sure if we need to adjust for the 1 hour time difference between Miami ( embarkation port) and Grand Cayman at the start of the excursion. Thanks in advance! baf
  21. Carnival uses the embarkation port time thruout the cruise. so this is not necessarily true. To the op, great question!
  22. It's all explained on the Princess website https://book.princess.com/cruisepersonalizer/onboard/cruisePackages.page
  23. Wondering how far out are the medallions shipped and where are they shipped from? We are 46 days out from our cruise. I just got notifed of something being shipped from Hunnington Beach, Cal. I havent ordered anything recently....
  24. Does any one know which terminal in Miami the Seascape embarks from? I know the plan was for MSC to use the new AA/AAA terminals, but have those opened yet? Thanks in advance! baf
  25. Is the OBC on the cruise booked or on the cruise you are currently on?
