  1. As a nurse I REALLY find this an interesting combo.....🤐
  2. It's mainly for the better wine selection. I like a good wine with dinner and will usually drink 2 glasses then. By the time I have paid full price for those 2 glasses, I have paid for upgrading the package.
  3. No. Ours is a 7 night one out of Miami on the Seascape on APril 9-16, 2023. Weird, but that's MSC🙄
  4. I don't have that option online or in the ap. When is your cruise?
  5. When were you able to upgrade your drinks packcage. I have been trying and keep getting told it is not available yet. Last Jan I upgraded onboard for the same price
  6. I'm thinking the lace to find out is by calling MSC?
  7. We have 23 cruises with Carnival. Our last cruise ( Sept, 2022) had fights every day ( except embarkation/debarkation). And these fights were not confined to the clubs. They happened in the Atrium, lido deck, casino and one even in the main dining room. That is why we decided to spend our cruise dollars elsewhere, at least for now. MSC provides a good value, decent IT and the ships are gorgeous. We like the European vibe too. If/when the same situation arises on MSC as is presently on Carnival, we will move on (shrugg)
  8. Does MSC serve Indian food? Looking at recent menus, I don't see it on the main dining room menues. Thanks! baf
  9. WHEN it becomes available to upgrade. Last time, I had to upgrade onboard. Same price tho
  10. yes, but the child whose card is on must be present. This cruise I purchased 3 funpasses for 5 kids to share. They are thrilled!
  11. I am looking for transport for just myself ( others in my party are flying back out of Miami) from POM to FLL airport. I saw you recommend SAS. I went to their website but was wondering if a 1:20 pm flight is doable using SAS? Or should I just use an UBER. Thanks for your input! baf
  12. LOVE the pizza on MSC. And the pasta is fresh made every day. It's also VERY good. My grandma was from SIcily and I grew up with a lot of homemade pasta dishes.
  13. cruising for the second time this APril (last was Jan 22) for 7 days with 5 kids ( extended family!) ages 2-12. There is TONS of stuff for the kids to do in or our of the kids club. TIP: get them a "funpass" ahead of time ( pay $80 for $140 worth of game time). The arcade has the usual stuff PLUS a bunch of virtual reality stuff. The kids will love it! The waiters we had were great with the kids. SO good that I actually went to the service desk on day 4 to compliment them by name. I must have really raved ( I know we weren't an easy group-6 adults and 5 kids) because the compliment was forwarded and they goe the next might off. We thought they were sick. The next night they were so appreciative it was kinda embarrassing. They will bend over backwards for the kids!
  14. Tom and Cheryl, I have seen/enjoyed many of your posts on other cruiselines. I think you will like MSC> Very Different in some aspects from Carnival. You can def tell the Italian influence. Hubbs and I have 23 Carnival cruises and really enjoyed the change. Now with all the fighting on Carnival, we have decided to take a break from them. Prob will be sticking with MSC for a bit because we really enjoy their product.
  15. Seashore Jan 2022. There around 1000 passengers on. Maybe they were lax? dunno. It really wasn't an issue. I don't smoke and the only other player was at the opposite end of the table from me.
  16. Didn't play BJ but the 3-crd tables don't have the 5 card bonus. Instead they have "prime". Pays 3:1 if your cards are the same color (not same suit) and pays 4:1 if the dealers cards are all the same color as your hand. There were some no smoking slots, but didn;t see any tables that were no smoking. I got a future cruise certificate good for 30% off ( any category-even YC) and $250 cash for over 10,000 "points" which I used for my upcoming April cruise. I know there are other levels, but this was my first MSC cruise and didn't inquire about them. I didn't receive any comps on the cruise, but it may be my level of play wasn't high enough; baf
  17. Not unless your are also booked in the Yacht CLub. Thats why I didn't book YC because the rest of my party didn't
  18. They had one assigned to me when I stopped by to verify. Can't remember the number, but it was past the buffet and near the bar and BR 😁😏. Liked the location so I just kept it. Had about 9 with us ( 2 cabins, 5 adults and 4 kids). Nothing more you need to do, just stop by the excursion desk to get your towels and beach equipment and let others in your party know which cabana to go. They will ask you how many towels, but won't give you more than 6. Same for the floaties. No snacks ( like the half moon cay cabanas), but food trucks do drive by on a reg basis. It really is a lovely island. You will like the cabana and the beach.
  19. Yes there is (don't remember the cost) but you hve to call to book. They want a 4 hour window for transport to FLL ( 3 hr for Miami). We just booked a private car.
  20. I had a cabana last Jan 2022. I had to stop by the shore excursion desk and had a say of which one I wanted. Yes there is bar service, but it is rather slow. Was faster to just walk to the bar. If you have a drinks package, it works on the island too, but the drink selection is not broad as on the ship. I only saw the non YC cabanas around the lagoon, but they were spread out pretty well. I booked a non YC cabana again for our April 2023 cruise. I booked it right when I booked my cabin ( last OCt). By the beginning of Dec, they were sold out.

    Straws

Question for recent cruisers. How is MSC handling straws? Other cruise lines are using those "candy" straws or advising people to bring those metal/silicone, reusable straws. Is MSC also doing this? Just wanting to know if I need to bring my own. Thanks in advance! BAF
