  1. This is exactly how it works at the new Galveston terminal. Less than 15 minutes from scanning out at the ship and driving out of the parking lot. Straight off with bag, down a hall, stop to look at a camera for less than 2 seconds and you're out the door headed to your car.
  2. Prior to this year, we've always sailed in at least an OV balcony or Junior Suite. A few grand suites and a Crown Loft for hubby's retirement cruise. Now that he's retired and income is reduced we made the choice to sail in insides to take 3 cruises a year instead of 1 in a balcony or suite. I thought I would hate it but have been pleasantly surprised on the 2 I've done so far. I enjoy breakfast on the balcony, watching the ship come in or leave port, and having a glass of wine in the evening... but I'd rather cruise more so interior it is, with the occasional Royal Up if the minimum bids are low.
  3. Hubby has done walk off 3 x in last 2 months. Off the ship and in the car by 7:30-7:45. That's parking in the North Lot Premium or North Lot without having to wait on or take a shuttle. I think a 9:30 flight is unrealistic with traffic, security and boarding. Why put so much stress on yourselves?
  4. Can you tell me if there is laser tag on this ship in the ice rink. On Royal Caribbean's description of this ship it indicates it does. I've read other posts saying it does not. We're going with kids & 7 grands aged 1-15 next March out of Galveston. I had already told the grands about laser tag and they are super excited, then I read differently somewhere.
  5. Normally they run the kids out. Must be 18 to play so they don’t want them in there. Possibly they could take turns waiting outside the casino with the kids?
  6. We were told in a Q&A that they are never "sold out" prior to boarding as they hold seats for people to book once onboard. After boarding if booking are full after the first day, they always have a standby line and most often everyone gets in. Other reserve, forgot about it, get busy doing other things, decide to skip it, etc.
  7. No you cannot bring port as it has liquor added to the wine.
  8. Actually, under the new perks, you may use one of your D, D+ or P vouchers to purchase bottles of wine at a discount.
  9. I believe the package is only offered onboard day 1 & 2, of a 7 night cruise, for the remainder of the cruise. You can not purchase it by the day. Pre-covid they sometimes offered a 10 drink punch card on day 5 or 6 if alcohol sales were low. However, I have not seen that offered since the restart.
  10. In January when we were on, Cory (cruise director) fielded questions in a Q&A. We were told they absolutely will be replacing the plants on Allure. However, they are waiting until the chance of freezing weather has passed as the cost to replace those plants will be in excess of $1M.
  11. Here's an article I saw a week or so ago. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/01/03/royal-caribbean-experiments-new-entertainment-younger-millennial-guests
  12. I've only been to Nachi Cocum. It is more adult oriented with no water toys, blow up bounce items, etc. It is limited to 130 total people. Everyone gets a chair and umbrella area of their own. There is a huge pool and a huge hot tub. There is a covered area to eat or they will serve you at your lounger. All food and drinks are included. There is no loud music or partying. It's very laid back. They do offer massages for an additional fee and come by one time letting you know what extras they offer such as glass bottom boat, banana boat ride, parasailing, etc. Then they leave you alone. We've been 4 times and always enjoy it. The food is very good.
  13. I don't believe room service alcohol drinks are covered by any package or voucher.
  14. On Allure next week the Cruise Planner shows two different games that will be screened at the Aqua Theater.
  15. We were not allowed in the engine/mechanical room. Only the control room. It is a very fascinating tour. Ours was pre-covid, and was a 3 hour tour. Closed toed shoes, long pants or capris. No shorts or skirts. We got the lanyards and a tote bag and kitchen aprons with logo.
  16. I usually make a specific one for each cruise. Print and put in a magnetic photo sleeve. I do them for friends traveling with us as well.
  17. I asked on another group site about this as it is still listed on the website as entertainment on Allure and I have been twice and it is fantastic. Going again in Jan with a group of 10 friends who hadn't seen it so I was asking about it. Someone who was onboard had asked the CD and he said that it is not currently showing and there are no immediate plans to bring it back.
