  1. I take it that Paul Ludlow and Carnival HQ will get to hear of this debacle. Sound like the customer ' service " people are either incompetent, or simply don't care. If his minions don't monitor SM they deserve to be sacked. Terrible treatment. We are on that flight in 4 weeks. I hope you don't need to be on it today.
  2. Down in that Dorset at the moment. Enid Blyton wrote some famous 5 books in the hotel. That added 50 quid a night to the price.
  3. Perhaps living in South East England has desensitised us.🤣
  4. We have never been disturbed by other cabins, rattling balcony doors, never. On our last Azura cruise we were plonked under the Beach House. Not a peep.
  5. We have been there a few times Avril. It's pretty good, but worth spending a bit extra for a sea view. You can watch the cruise ships pass. Picture is an old police car in front of mine. It was the last sailing of that ferry before they flogged it to Italy.
  6. Don't worry. Once you work out what the policy is, it will change.
  7. On Britannia in October we could book Limelight and entertainment, bit not speciality restaurants. On Azura in February and April we could book nothing until onboard.
  8. You can't book speciality restaurants before you board, only the Limelight.
  9. OBC can and is used for speciality dining.
  10. With you tube travel videos, worldwide travel is possible without leaving my chair. On here Malta was recommended, so I went a couple of weeks ago. ...Oh well, you can't win them all.🤣
  11. I book all my travel on line. No big deal as folk are quite able to make decisions and choices easily. We'll most folk.🤔
  12. That's a lot of booze. We don't drink til dinner time and an aperitif after dinner. 2 people on a 2 week cruise is over £1200.
  13. Speak to one of the cruise TA's. We did BA flights, 2 nights in Malta 7 nights Azura and another night in Malta 4* hotel and transfers. Can't tell you who with, not allowed ,although the email came from cruise critic.
  14. Difficult to decide isn't it?. You could always not bother and fly to a holiday in...where shall we go ?. SC, or hotel, how many stars. Shall we pay for baggage? Park the car, or train. Coach, or taxi?.....etc.....simples🤔
  15. In my very humble and ill informed opinion the cruise companies, airlines, hotels ,shops etc are trying to rebuild the finances that took a massive hit over the last few years. Looking at some of the deals popping up for the rest of 2023. Folk aren't spending as much as these companies would like, so they are examining ways to reduce costs. Customers finances took a hit which hasn't gone away yet. Consumers are not being fooled as much as the providers would like.
  16. I found that refreshing the page myself worked. Every 10 minutes, swipe down, refreshed.
  17. That's the longest we gave ever seen.
  18. We have 2 travel agents where we once had 6. My fault as we always book direct online, or through an online/telephone TA. No real loss as the folk working in them didn't know much . The exception is that one of the TA's is a well known long haul specialist who seem to know their stuff. She talked me out of spending 2 nights in Lake Louise. I would only spend one night there sir. Spend an extra night in Banff instead. I reluctantly agreed. Turns out she was right.
  19. You have to move it to a more expensive cruise and can only do it once. You can't move your booking and then move it back.
  20. Forgive me for being a cynic, but P&O will do what they perceive to be best for their margin. Savvy bookers will look at the options and decide what they are prepared to pay. Easy cruise got it wrong and P&O would be making a mistake to go that route. I know that if I book early, I will get stuffed, if I book late I may need to take pot luck, or go somewhere else. I won't pay £1000 extra to book select and get £220 OBC. If it goes the easy cruise route I will go elsewhere. If P&O offer a decent cruise at a fair price I will continue to book P&O. Folk will see through the gimmicks. Push the price up towards Celebrity and the choice is an easy one.
  21. We go to our town centre once a week. There are a good few empty shops ,perhaps due to high rents and power. Also lack of customers going through the door. Folk shop online and get it delivered, then have a moan about the empty shops. My pet hate is when I go in the bank and one of the employees stops me and tries to persuade me to use the ATM instead. I explain to them that if everyone did that, her job would be gone.
  22. That's what we are doing. We may cancel and rebook, but not until nearer to final balance date.
  23. But you have to move it to a more expensive cruise and you can only move it once. They aren't stupid, but it appears that I am for booking early. I have just been looking at next year. Nothing tempting at those prices. I expect some reductions, so will hold on.
  24. Going on two cruises instead of one saves money?. Sorry, don't get it.
  25. I think Jean's answer would help the OP as it dealt with their question.
