    Laundry question

Darn it! I was sitting on the very love seat in the laundry room when I saw Terry’s photo of it. so I took a photo of the stepping stool and the nice laundry baskets! but my upload failed! aaaaargh the step stool is particularly useful to me b/c the dryer is a bit too high for me but I don’t love the ironing boards

    Laundry question

I thought it was you who posted how many laundry rooms each cruise line had. If some have two washers and dryers, some have four, some have six or eight, I thought the number of rooms was meaningless.

But do all those laundry rooms have the same number of washers and dryers? And irons and ironing boards? And a couch (well, a love seat) to sit on while waiting?

    Laundry question

Coincidentally, we’re on Viking now, too. And I’m doing the laundry right now! 😁 Bummer about the Noro. I saw that one ship offered free laundry from the ship’s service, b/c they closed the self service ones due to Noro. Was that offered to you?
  5. Two great choices. And a beautiful way to honor your mom. When you wander the streets of Venice this time, you’ll be talking to her in your head. And perhaps quoting her back to you! The Adriatic ports are wonderful. We used a great tour guide in Split. I think our private tour from Naples went to Pompei and ended in Sorrento, then we took the ferry back to Naples. With the overnight there, perhaps you can take the ferry both ways. We were there when Italy was in the finals of the World Cup, or something like that, so there was an excited vibe beyond the usual. I hope I’m remembering that correctly. Iirc, shops and perhaps even restaurants were closing early for that reason.
  6. Sounds like a great career, Howie. Have fun deciding the next chapter. Then have fun with the execution!
  7. We’re booked on Serenity in November, Miami to Miami, and Serenity in June of ‘24, San Diego to Vancouver. So happy we had room in our schedule for these!
  8. Despite having done “tons” of Caribbean cruises, our Crystal Serenity in November managed to include two we’ve yet to visit. You may wonder what they are, so I’ll tell you: Road Town, BVI, and St John, USVI. Also, we’ve never docked at Paradise Island, although we’ve stayed in the Atlantis. I would love to see Crystal’s 2025 schedule in the Mediterranean include Morrocco.
  9. Howie, I’ve been curious since you started posting. I think I’m ready to ask. Is the ACP your professional organization? And if so, what other, if pertinent, like ACG or ACC, etc.
  10. Very classy, and we can call it Trey for short. Why is Trey SO much classier than Jr?
  11. StephenAndrew, thx for stopping by. You are correct that the OP is extremely well-liked here and we all are sorry to know how frustrated he’s been. His issue is unlikely to impact any of us, I’m guessing, so he chose not to broadcast it. As you can see, we hope he’s taken comfort in the support we’ve tried to offer him and we are still hoping he will find resolution. Three different ways could that happen. I predict none will materialize.
  12. Love you, Patty. The like button wasn’t strong enuff.
  13. But would Toyota owners be happy to call their cars Lexus Jrs? I think you got your analogy backwards. If I’m using the word analogy correctly. I suppose you’re going to tell us you drive a Bentley. And btw, Mr B drives a Toyota Avalon, which is closer than a Camry to a Lexus Jr.
  14. I watched the video again and there are definitely four drawers between the wall with the window and the front of the desk.
  15. I tried to make an instagram acct. but failed, so I downloaded the instagram app. That worked.
  16. I still think we can’t see drawers between the desk and the wall. Time will tell. For me, it’ll tell on Nov. 2nd, if all goes according to plan.
  17. Bon voyage! So happy to have you taking us along with you!
  18. Three days before our flight, we received an email with the 24-hour Viking Travel Emergency Hotline, which is (877) 523-0576. Please only call this number while in transit to or from your ship, and for flight emergencies only. Otherwise, call your TA or Viking at (855) 338-4546 for all other questions. The Viking number is 8 am to 10 pm Eastern time. Bob voyage!
  19. Does your friend like the motion, also?
  20. It’s also when they rehearse. A friend was bothered when she was having an afternoon nap. If you manage to get the first or second stateroom forward of the stairs/elevator, I think you’d be fine, but I’m not 100% sure. That would also cut back on the motion a bit.
  21. The funniest part is it’s called “cozy” when it’s listed as the single, but not when the same size stateroom is listed as a double.
  22. And at the very upscale hotel (Pan Pacific) at the Vancouver cruise dock. Hotel that’s designed to evoke a feeling of being on an ocean liner!
  23. I think it’s the Restaurant menu that changes daily. From the post to which you are responding, I now have high hopes for all the Restaurant menus to show up for me on the app, on embarkation day. At Shawshank, hope is a dangerous thing, but here, hopefully not!
  24. That happens on other cruise lines (mass market, even what used to be the “best” one). On my Viking Octantis, the only challenge was finding it. Which pretty soon we did. It never dawned on us to ask for it!
