  1. To be more specific, we encountered lines a few times at 7:15. I have no idea if there was also a line at 6 pm. On two evenings, we did as Pergrina651 did, going to the World Cafe at 6 pm for sushi and seafood. That works perfectly with a 6:30 lecture.
  2. I believe I answered this concern recently. The line at The Restaurant, when it existed at all, was the fastest-moving line I ever recall. It disappeared as quickly as a quote from Shawshank.
  3. We ate at a two-top, all ten nights. No wait whatsoever.
  4. The line, when it even existed, at The Restaurant, was the absolute quickest line I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship. It disappeared … well, there’s a great Shawshank quote that applies.
  5. We cancelled our Manfredi’s res. when the fish of the day was something less appealing to us than the fish in The Restaurant. And when on a ten-night cruise, The Restaurant has halibut offered three nights, plus an ahi tuna, a Dover sole, a red snapper and a Chilean sea bass, it doesn’t sound like they’re in a cost-cutting frame of mind. We also had a foie gras appetizer and a soft-shell crab, as well as duck and chicken liver pate. Of course that last, along with a halibut soup, show how nicely guests can dine, when the kitchen is careful to use everything they’re given. I had read about disappointments at Manfredi’s on various ships, so I decided it wasn’t worth the risk. Maybe next time. We’re looking forward to 16 nights on that one!
  6. Great photos and videos at Geiranger! Loved that stop when we did it in 2018 or ‘19 or something. We also were fortunate to be at the dock. Different cruise line. Vivid, beautiful memories. Thank you, Linda!
  7. On a different river cruise line, we did Salzburg from Linz and it was a WONDERFUL day.
  8. I guess I love to proof anything that’s put in front of my, except by my own hand. 😁
  9. Great catch! I hope somebody vetted that photo before they posted it.
  10. I also am a product of public schools. Somehow, though, the “less” vs. “fewer” distinction eluded me. At around age 28, we moved to Denve4 and made a few good friends at the bridge club. One of them taught that to me, along with the concept of check digits on bank accts. I can’t even remember any of my Englishteachers in high school, which may be wh6 tha5 part of my education was somewhat lacking. Still, I am a ferocious proofreader of anything that’s put before me. Also, I could diagram a sentence! That, though, was from junior high, I think. 😳😁😘🥂
  11. We thoroughly enjoyed Karlskrona. Spent an hour on our own, then joined our walking tour. Booking the later one meant we lucked out with the weather.
  12. We went to both, Visby and Karlskrona.
  13. Mmmm, have a blast! I wonder how high the corn is right now.
  14. Big hugs to you. We’ve all been there, one way or another.
  15. I felt it was your heartfelt wish. Sometimes it’s difficult, online, to know we are all “on the same page”.
  16. Condolences on the loss of your mom. Truly lovely that you got to tell her about the cruise, and discussed with her the travel you did together. If she didn’t thank you out loud, surely it was in her heart.
  17. On our recent Jupiter in the Baltic, we had a port every day and 920 pax. We were in and out of the restaurant in about 75 minutes every night. And we always have three courses, sometimes four. I suspect some folks never even go back and see the Asian station.
  18. Beautifully stated, LC. Once we were on a Celebrity cruise with entertainer Perry Grant in Michael’s Club. He’s goofy and irreverent and keeps the audience laughing and participating. When he was told that two of his regulars departed the ship early, due to the death of a grandchild, he touchingly became very serious. He said he has no children of his own but is blessed with, iirc, a niece and a nephew. If anything happened to them, he can’t imagine how devastated he would be. I was so impressed with what he said, and how he handled it.
  19. When an article is clumsily written and not proofread, some of us sit up and take notice. 😳🙄
  20. Except it was Seabourn.
  21. I was trying to picture a train over the ocean! Actually, I think Roy has made good use of some Cunard sailings to avoid flying, in the past. Having your flight at the end of the cruise seems like a much better plan than the other way around. We took the train once to Vancouver, but only from Seattle!
  22. I just realized I embarked on my 55th cruise, on our 55th wedding anniversary! That was two weeks ago, so alas, it wasn’t on Crystal. One tip which we all hope will be easily accomplished on Crystal, going forward, is what we’ve enjoyed in the past. If you have Umi Uma or Oviedo booked and you see something you love, on Waterside’s menu, just ask to have it on a subsequent night. They do need 24 hours notice. Once the reviews start rolling in, you’ll have tons of info! Happy anniversary.
  23. Mmmm, this gets me even more excited! I will make notes. And I agree with you that short cruises to Bermuda would be nice (from your previous comment). But what I love most is that your sister is getting to see places she’s never been. I hope she had a good guide in Berlin.
