  1. I think it has to do with Panamax, Radiance class. The old locks are relatively cheaper to traverse. Then it's only done for a fall/spring reposition. We actually had a better experience visiting both sets of locks from Colón, Panama on an RCI land excursion.
  2. I do like COCO Cay but it really is overdone on cruise itineraries.
  3. Radiance class ships have been upgraded to Starlink, but unfortunately, the WiFi routers and locations have not. There seems to be a cabin problem with WiFi when you are far away from the stairwell router locations. I have seen posts that indicate upgrades are on the way.
  4. I've got confirmations from Next Cruise that have multiple cruises B2B. I have no idea of the significance.
  5. I just had a thought. Maybe we should just call security. I think I'll give it a try.
  6. Sometimes it seems obvious to passengers. The problem, training We have been told cabin attendants are trained not to remove anything from the cabin unless it's in a trash can or a towel on the floor. Some cabin attendants are more flexible than others. Our current attendant removes glassware and plates. Others have told us specifically, put your stuff in the hall, I don't want to get in trouble having to interpret passenger intentions.
  7. 99% of the time they are placed in the hallway, Some do make the trip to a storage area, but not always.
  8. It's a dining service issue. Your cabin attendant has very little room on the cart.
  9. There has been a scooter in the hall, on Jewel, for the last two weeks. I asked one of our friends in a wheelchair "Can you get by?", NO.
  10. Yes you got what you wanted, and I applaud you. An inside cabin with that horrible itinerary IMHO is not for us. BTW we have done Honolulu to Vancouver twice, before RCI neutered the cruise.
  11. Radiance class does not have pay-per-view. It's all cable connection and Cat 5 so there was no real need for HDMI. Jewel has all these connections.
  12. It's not the weather I would concerned about. RCI has steadily reduced the number of Hawaii ports, and now with the overnight to Lahaina gone, it's not worth it.
  13. RCI purchased some HD TV's without HDMI ports because they were cheaper,
  14. They slowly converted ships to the new process. It greatly speeds up the check-in process. Agents can now roam with their tablets and not be tied to a counter. I agree, it probably does happen that someone takes the wrong cards. Hopefully, it's not that often.
  15. Yes until they fire up the industrial dishwashers and start moving carts of dishes over the tile.
  16. There is no firm time. Normally it's 10:30 early check-in, but for some reason that arrival time isn't always offered.
  17. It's been my experience that a 10:30 arrival time is not offered, if at all, until late in the 30-day window. In either case, 10 AM luggage drop is probably OK.
  18. There is an experiment to let you choose your table, not your time. This is not fleet-wide.
  19. We do CK every morning. Love it. My old brain just doesn't remember 8:30. I thought 8AM was the last entry.
  20. So you think everyone should do that? I once stood in the rain at Port Everglades because half of the passengers on the bus had no tags, and many had to dig through documents because they couldn't remember their cabin number. Twice I've had a cabin attendant ask me if this was my suitcase because he couldn't read the full cabin number. I had friends who were very angry because the longshoreman transposed digits and their luggage ended up on the wrong deck. I suppose you also think no one should have a set sail pass so everyone has to be looked up at the entrance? The height of arrogance and I'm being kind.
