  1. No, it's always ship time. RCI may change, but it is always up to the captain.
  2. The status just changed to SHIPPED! Only 5 weeks, expedited.
  3. Usually, if a ship is being repositioned to a new home port, RCI makes the decision at least a year out. The problem comes when you have to book a new ship that has already started booking. Great cabins are gone!
  4. There is no way to tell. We have been refused more than accommodated, on many ships. But we have also got BOGO later in the week just by asking. Depends on if they need to fill seats.
  5. There is also the salt problem with the lock.
  6. We sit in a different place every time. A different view and you see new things.
  7. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I didn't read the policy 😕. My fault.
  8. There is lots of overlap in coverage. Allianz has trip protection that GeoBlue does not. Geoblues' medical and evacuation is far superior. The problem with Geoblue maybe you need to have another state-side medical policy. I haven't really tried too hard to find it, but I would prefer an Allianz trip protection policy only.
  9. I thought it was multiple trips, but it seems they changed the T&C to an annual total of, in my case, $5000. I need to do more research.
  10. We have a second policy from GeoBLUE.
  11. Allianz does, with lots of before/after restrictions. We have one. My wife had bronchitis and could not go. They paid us $4,000 with very little hassle. It's NOT cancel for any reason.
  12. Not true at all. I just spent 22 days on Odyessy visiting many Greek islands. There are no 'local customs' for Americans on any cruise.
  13. It's highly unlikely you will find free fillet or crab legs in MDR. sorry
  14. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/royal-gift-order-options
  15. There will likely be one formal night where you might get a lobster tail, and stand in a long line for a picture with the captain. The other two will be 'dress to impress' or 'dress your best', with nothing extraordinary. The formal night will be in the middle. That's been our experience.
