  1. This question was asked in May of the CEO.. @2:51:40 of the Q&A (see the web cast which cannot be pasted).. Answer was NO. https://www.nclhltd.com/investors
  2. If its Splendor versus Insignia, the Regent wins hands down just for the ship. You would need to book a PH on Oceania to get a similar sized room in a superior F1/F2. The Verandas on Insignia are considerable smaller than the equivalent on Splendor and the showers on the R ships are shoehorn small.
  3. Why use a box??? Just pack your standard suitcase up to the 50 pound limit (higher weights = higher price). Two weeks ago leaving the ship at Barcelona there were 20 or so suitcases tag with luggage forward airway bill holder on the dock ready for pickup heading home.
  4. On our cruise in January, they sourced the Oysters from Denmark. We are both oyster fanatics, raw, rockefellered, fried in a Po-boy -- we love them. On Explora I those Danish ones were really poor quality (chef admitted it) with a bitter taste. They could have gotten better one out the Miami harbor 🙂 Hopefully they will be better in January 25, but if not we have those at our stop in NOLA. Some hints @Sthrngary Don't like any of the excursions that they offer and have must use OBC?? Do some research at Viator or Trip Advisor. Then ask destinations to see if their local person can customize a tour. We did a horseback riding tour on the beach in Cartegena for around $120pp Don't like the liquor brand in the suite they are providing -- sometimes they will change it providing its is in the included brand. If the bed you do not like your bed too hard -- make sure you specify the flexible one (which is a mattress topper)
  5. Emporium for sure. Maybe Med Yacht or Sakura (either one or the other).
  6. Even worse as some of the newer ships, the door has to be LOCKED for the AC to be working. Making it difficult for one spouse to nap inside while the other is on the veranda reading. What is the CODE for a guest locked out on the veranda 🙂
  7. Correct -- I know from our cruise last week - Comcast hates the mobile Starlink IP addresses and treats them as threats. Only resolution is to use a VPN, but that costs $$$ on Regent. The other way around is to use the Web browser interface to get your mail while using the ships wifi.
  8. They use different carriers. Luggage Forward - DHL and Luggage Free - FedEx. It makes a difference as I would never use DHL in Central and South America. For Europe, DHL is definitely superior - they are a Euro based company. It is about their ability to get your luggage through customs without delays. It is never about shipping - except for weather, the delays are always customs related. As others have stated there is a no - no list which needs to be strictly followed and is essentially clothing only plus normal sundries: No medicines or over the counter items No electrical items or anything that has a battery or plug Nothing having alcohol - like perfumes Nothing of value or can be thought of as taxable. This also includes new clothes that have a price tag on them. Regent uses and works with both but does get a kickback from Luggage forward. https://app.luggageforward.com/cobrands/GJVH2DTWWWE6?cpn=RKRPEXME62FF&utm_campaign=regent-seven-seas-cruises%2Fwdxgankq9eytw2j9&utm_id=RKRPEXME62FF&utm_medium=strategic_partner&utm_source=regent_seven_seas_cruises
  9. There is a specific FAQ on this issue among many others. Dress -- We don't have a dress code onboard but we suggest an elegant resort casual style. Please consider the following in our restaurants, and indoor bars and lounges: Swim wear and bathrobes are not allowed throughout the day in any of the restaurants and indoor bars and lounges. Shorts and sleeveless t-shirts are not allowed during dinner time (18:00 - late) in Anthology, Fil Rouge Baseball caps and sportswear are not allowed during dinner time (18:00 - late) in Anthology, Fil Rouge, Sakura, Marble & Co. Grill, Med Yacht Club.
  10. This the Regent link to VISACentral... https://visacentral.com/tourkits?bookmark=1&login=rssc
  11. Depends on the country. But generally yes. I have an array of stamps from our west African trip including Ghana, Benin, Congo, Togo, Namibia, Angola, Sao Tome .... Caribbean is an exception (no stamps)
  12. Since Crystal has a new TA booking interface -- YES you can check what cabins are available, by doing a search on one of the discount internet TA;s that allow booking directly. No names can be given but i checked 3 of them and all worked.
  13. No air tags or any electronics, it is a DHL imposed issue as no lithium in the cargo holds as it is a fire hazard.
  14. Likely you will need more. Immigration officers are different. Some will do an entry and exist on one page and another will put the entry on one page and exist on another page nowhere near the first. Some will even stamp over another countries entry stamp. Last visit to South Africa everything was on one page but the rule says 2 pages. Vietnam 2 pages (full page for Visa plus stamps) Cambodia 2 pages (full page for Visa plus stamps) India 2 page (full page for Visa plus stamps) Oman and UAE will stamp in/out. I have 3 trips to the UAE on one page. Auckland/Australia -- visas are now electronic and only an in/out stamps Thailand and Indonesia only In/Out stamps Plus 4 pages for SA and Zimbabwe (last time they only stamped in/out on one page in SA) Zimbabwe gave us a visa stamp. Make sure you have cash $ 75pp for the visa. @mrlevin good advise. Don't count on the immigration officers being logical as to where they stamp. You have no control over this as you may normally do as most of the stamping will be done in the Purser's conference room with the immigration officer onboard when they clear the ship.
  15. Try this in Miami and see what happens... 🙂 Depends on the port and what type of departure clearance needs to occur. Best you check with RSSC. As far as tours what level of detail? We have done Taxi tours for 5 hours that will take you to the major sites. Of course the driver not being an official licensed tour guide cannot accompany you at the site. But many are really knowledgeable and it is perfect for an orientation tour.
  16. They also have Dover Sole in Chartreuse and Prime 7..
  17. Must be off the ship by 9am at latest. US Customs requires a Zero count. Persons doing a B2B need to vacate also. They can reboard after the zero count around 10 to 11am
  18. Fairly relaxed -- wear your shorts and sleeveless shirts in Sakura, Marble and Med Yacht. Wear your baseball hats and exercise gear in the Emporium... We don't have a dress code onboard but we suggest an elegant resort casual style.
  19. Another example -- is the exit from the elevators on the main services deck (reception, coffee, main bar) has both a two step stair plus in the rear a ramp for those that cannot manage the short stairs.
  20. Many of the SG (small group -- added cost) tours are longer and likely include lunch. Also note that ship really needs to be cleared by customs so an 8am arrival means tours start at 9am. A 7pm departure means tours come back by dinner hour 530pm. That does not allow for two tours. Ship arrival and departures are tidal dependent. Best are overnights where you can do a tour and then have an evening tour or go out on your own especially in Kobe.
  21. FOOD IS SUBJECTIVE. We were on Explorer in April, Crystal Serenity in June, and Mariner in August. Think Crystal has a better overall food product. Included wine is by far superior on Crystal. Our last Regent cruise on Mariner the included wine was rather piss poor both in taste and variety. Sommeliers were more experienced and knowledgeable on Crystal. Compass Rose versus Waterside -- Waterside was consistently much better. Regent was good to very good but never great (Splendor was best and Mariner least consistent) -- but Crystal was significantly better and more importantly consistent day to day. Pacific Rim versus Crystal Umi. Really different both good in their own way Prime 7 versus Crystal (nothing but will soon offer a steak venue). We like Prime 7. Seti Mari versus Crystal Osteria -- We loved both but they are different as Crystal is more classical and Regent is more American Italian. Pool Grills -- about the same. The grill guys on Crystal more personable. Chartreuse -- we loved this on Mariner. Crystal does not have anything close. Service on both lines are superb, best in the industry.
  22. By the way Any and Tammy are on Mariner.
  23. Explora does begin boarding according to suite level (at least earlier in the year in the Caribbean). Residences at 1130, Penthouses next and remainder by 12 noon.
