  1. I just tossed those travel cups out a year ago when we were packing up the house and moving.
  2. Thank you. I don't bother with Cruise Critic outside of my desk top or lap top ever since they did away with the APP. We are only taking our phones on this trip.
  3. You took the words out of my mouth. This is validated by the posters who sill have them are are holding on to them. I remember treads about Elites trading in the mini bar for coffee cards then just hoarding them.
  4. You live in Florida. Book a quickie last minute residents cruise. I'm Not interested in the points. I just wanted to see the videos and surveys.
  5. I just want to send a text message to check on things at home or post to Social Media. Am I good with the basic package? We have iPhones. Will iMessage work?
  6. My mom said the same thing. She also said, "A woman's place is in the home".
  7. Same B.S. lip service. We are constantly evaluating the selection Yada Yada Yada....and nothing changes but the price. I will book AI at the time of booking if the price makes sense to me. It seems from reading many threads how brands disappear off of the premium menu it only makes sense to me to pay the difference for the rare occasion I want a call brand. What annoys me is the mystery pricing and the fake sales. On my last Royal Caribbean sailing the onboard price was the same as the sales they were offering all along. I have never seen the drink package offered at the inflated regular price.
  8. Princess. I stated that I would sail any cruise line or class ship against my will if the itinerary was what I was looking for. Princess has the worst rooms at sea in IMO if you don't sail in a suite and the Island Princess is an old ship.
  9. me too and a change of cloths.
  10. I guess you missed the sarcasm and reiterated the distain for E Class.
  11. If I have to book a cruise line or class of ship against my will it's because of the itinerary. Some of the best itineraries are on the older ships. I booked a 12 day ABC island reposition cruise on the Island Princess. That's probably one of the worst ships in their fleet. However I had to cancel due to a work conflict. I'm not a fan of the E class but for the right itinerary I would book it.
  12. I worked for them just before I retired. Worst two years of my life. We had a few over priced swim trunks that never sold. There were too many other stores on Long Island to shop. Even Macy's was cheaper this time of year.
  13. You could probably get away with it in Europe. When I pack, the swim suits are the first item in my bag. I may not have underwear but I will have a swim suit.
  14. I work for TJ Maxx part time. We have a lot of men's swim suits in the clearance section but I'm in Port Saint Lucie. Also look for a Beals or Marshalls. Oddly I have found that swim suits in Florida are seasonal the same as they are up north.
  15. I know it's a moot point discussing but interesting information. I have been to many meet and greets and not once did I run into an agent or someone who could suggest an agent. I do have a long time cruise friend that I met at one of those meet and greets who was a member of a search engine cruise line. She would just give us her commission after we sailed when she received it. She since gave up that part time business. She said it was too much trouble for the few bucks she made. More cancelations than complete sailings and all anyone wanted was a discount. They couldn't care less about service. There is a travel group in my community run by travel agents. They claim that they can get group rates but when I check out the offers I come up with the same price and actually I can get a one category up grade with Celebrity which makes my rate better. I know if you book a certain amount of rooms one is free. My guess is that they are taking the free room and screwing everyone else. They are taking advantage of new residents to Florida, cruising for the first time or who just don't have the knowledge and need their hand held. Needless to say I don't bother with that group.
  16. They are order takers but if you are not needy you can take advantage of their offers which is still better than what a cruise line offers. The prices are the same as the cruise line. There is another online Travel agent that actually lead me to Cruise Critic years ago. They quote the an inflated brochure price that doesn't exist and discount off of that to bring it down to what you can get with the cruise line. They advertise big discounts 87% off. It's like shopping a Kohl's with their MSRP sales.
  17. I went through my big box warehouse store. At the time which was wave season they were offering a large OBC and No deposit required if you paid a $25 fee. However don't expect them to hold your hand or know about the cruise line. Every time you call to make a change or inquire about a price drop you will get a different agent. I am experienced enough to know what I want and what to look for. If I see a price drop I call. However, it's much easier to deal with the cruise line directly than to call a middle man.
  18. Yes but gems are rare and I haven't even found a diamond in the rough.
  19. That is a rare and unusual circumstance. The last time I used a TA which was a local business she never called me to collect final payment. I had a reminder pop up in my calendar and called her. I basically did all of the leg work and gave her the booking. I wasn't offered OBC and I wasn't even gifted a cheap bottle of wine. Since then I book myself and watch for my own price drops and have been very successful.
  20. I figured that it would be some place but I don't have those yet.
  21. This will be our first time driving to port. All other trips to Port Everglades we flew in and took cruise line transportation or Uber to the terminal. This time I want to park at the terminal but I don't know which terminal Celebrity sails from. We are sailing on a Monday. Will I have trouble finding parking? Thank you
  22. Currently on my 4 night Reflection sailing in Oct the Classic drink package is $75.99 with a 15% discount Premium Drink package is $88.99 with a 15% discount $13.99 to up grade from the classic to the premium. I booked all inclusive and got classic drink package and wifi both for $51 a day. It's well after final payment and if I booked now it would cost me $72 daily and the price of the cruise has gone up. I booked a month before final payment was due.
  23. We have sailed more times on Princess than Celebrity. I started sailing on Princess in 1991 when I was 30. Other than my wife I felt like the youngest one on board. At 63 I still feel like the youngest one on board. Now Celebrity has replaced Princess as our first choice. We only sail on Princess for the itinerary. I think the room accommodations and entertainment is better on Celebrity. Food is about the same on both. It's declined equally.
  24. While your suite sleeps 5 people you are only paying for two so I would think logically that you can't invite guests not sharing the room. Like wise if a solo pays double for a suite they can't just invite a non suite guest to dine with them. If it could be done on a regular basis everyone would be doing it and it would spoil the experience for those who paid for it.
  25. I can't even remember the last time I mailed anything.
