  1. You will then have two separate purchases on the books when you board, correct? They will still give you a refund for the one you cancel, however it likely will be in the form of an on board credit, not a refund to your CC. I would think since it was a direct purchase by you and not from any ship sponsored OBC, the OBC issued would be refundable, meaning you can cash out any unused portion at the end of the cruise. (And if any was from a ship OBC, that amount would remain as a ship OBC and would not be refundable, but would be used first against your on board charges with any extra refundable portion used last, and any extra from that given back to you). Up to you but in our experience we have been able to get a mix of days and times on board the were good for us. Whatever you decide I hope it works out well for you.
  2. Have to tell you we just ended up today with the same situation as yours, but for an upcoming Celebrity cruise. Had three individual nights purchased last November and tonight saw a better price for a three night package. Called Celebrity and they canceled the November purchase, reinstated the OBC used plus credited the difference back to my CC, repurchased it at the new lower price and listed it on our planner over the phone. The only thing they couldn't do was preserve the original days and times as they were done individually originally and with the package they use the placeholder for day one and we will book them (as I described earlier) on board. Could have done the transactions as well on line with the planner but wanted to be sure the OBC was credited back in a timely manner to be applied to the new booking at the same time, so we called instead. Worked well.
  3. They may be able to do it all for you and replace the individual reservations with the UDP.
  4. I would think they would be two separate transactions through the planner. If so, I would think you would just cancel the individual purchases which would leave the UDP in place. The individual dining purchases will be refunded to your credit card. But to be sure maybe call RCCL and ask them to confirm the process. I would just want to be sure it didn't affect the UDP in any way - it shouldn't, but just to be sure.
  5. They typically give you what is nothing more than a placeholder for the first night with the purchase of the package. But it is just that. Just stop by any specialty restaurant when you board and talk with the Maitre d and they can schedule the entire week for you. I understand it is not necessarily what you want to do when you first board, but we have always been able to arrange our week's schedule in a matter of 10 - 15 minutes in this manner. If you are a higher tier C&A member or in a suite the Concierge can assist with this as well.
  6. Good catch - thanks! Apologies to the OP and @Charles4515 (Just one more senior moment).
  7. Sudsy of the Seas, I believe - LOL. Obliviously just kidding as I have no idea other than it possibly could be a Gilchrist & Soames product as that has been used in their suites. (Believe on Celebrity as well).
  8. How long typically would be a several months contract. May renew, may go to a different ship, may take a vacation. Very hard to say. Curious, though, if you don't like his act, why do you want to know what ship he is on?
  9. Seems a little late as that typically occurs within the early part of the week prior to sailing. Maybe call CC to check.
  10. To confirm, guest services can place a parental limit on, or block altogether, additional SeaPass card purchases per card. SeaPass cards can also be programed with no charge privileges as well. Suggest arranging one of these options if you are concerned about ongoing charges.
  11. If your reservations are linked it will show at the specialty restaurant as a combined reservation. A quick visit to the maitre d at the specialty restaurant after boarding will also assure they have it as a single combined reservation for 5, and if for some reason it is incorrect, they will adjust it then.
  12. With the understood caveat that food quality is completely subjective, IMO the overall MDR food quality is better on Celebrity than RCCL, so your experience with Ascent may not translate directly to Icon. Haven't been on Icon yet, however, so I can't say based on direct experience. With both RCCL and Celebrity we also typically eat primarily in the specialty restaurants, but do, occasionally have a couple of MDR meals. We enjoy them more with Celebrity and feel that the overall quality has measurably declined with RCCL over the years. In general, however, the specialty restaurants with each line are pretty much on a par. With that, Murano on Celebrity and 150 Central Park on RCCL are our favorites. Jamie's Italian on RCCL by far is our least favorite and we rarely dine there. Again, just my subjective opinion. Hopefully others with direct experience on Icon can provide better insight. Personal choice, but I guess sampling one meal in the MDR might be a way to compare for yourself. Enjoy Icon.
  13. For as long as you have been cruising, I would simply say enjoy yourself. Celebrity is a very good line and offers an excellent cruise experience. Our usual first look choice.
  14. I think you will enjoy Serenade. Although many years back, she was the ship that provided one of our most memorable cruises. And we have been on 50+. She may not be one of the newest, but she is still a good ship. Enjoy!
  15. We often have either and like both (actually have a hump on Eclipse this June), but overall our first choice would be the aft facing. We enjoy the view.
  16. St. Thomas, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Puerto Plata - of the two this would be my choice.
  17. Yes to all three, although there has been questions as to #3. if it is per guest or per stateroom.
  18. I was just curious as the rules have changed over time. You are correct with the outright cancelation - you lose the full deposit with RCCL / Celebrity. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  19. It varies but, in particular for dining on embarkation night, there are often offers made. We have had occasion where after dining in a specialty restaurant they would offer a reduced rate to return later in the cruise. It depends on how booked they are for that sailing. In our experience the dining packages offered pre-cruise through the planner are typically the better offers.
  20. Serenade was last refurbished in 2022, but I don't have details on what that included.
  21. From the RCCL FAQ's regarding NRD's: Outside of final payment, when a non-refundable deposit cancellation occurs, the full deposit amount will be held in penalty. Any additional payments made will be refunded. Should you choose to change your original ship and/or sail date, if you booked directly with us, please contact our Consumer Outreach team where a representative will assist in making the desired changes, while also applying the qualifying change fee(s) and collecting payment, if not already done so. If you booked via a travel advisor, please contact them for any booking changes.
  22. For your future reference, new schedules are typically released 18-24 months prior to the sailings and are usually released on a seasonal basis. So next December for a spring '26 schedule should be correct.
