  1. Published as 260 sq. ft., which is pretty large compared to the boardwalk balcony at 182 sq. ft. (+ 52 sq. ft. balcony). With a foldout couch and pullman beds it can hold 5.
  2. As I indicated in my response the refundable OBC would be from a third party. The two you identified (TA, Royal CC) plus anyone - family, friend, or the traveling party themselves - who wishes to deposit an amount on behalf of the traveling party with the cruise line.
  3. As an alternative, I would also think they would serve you drinks at the table while he had lunch.
  4. I believe the bed is on the outside location near the balcony. Perhaps others can confirm. This stateroom is in a very desirable hump location, in particular based on its mid ship location adjacent to the elevator banks. The elevator banks are very convenient to this location but are in an interior location in their own area. The staterooms are located in a hallway separated from the banks and are also well insulated. There should be no noise concerns here as a result. This location is often a preferred choice by us. This will also be one of the better locations for minimizing the up and down movement of the ship as it goes forward through the water. The side to side rolling motion will be felt the same anywhere on the ship, less so on lower decks, but this is the motion that the ships stabilizers are designed to mitigate. BTW if you google the ship and stateroom you should be able to find pictures on line.
  5. Just to clarify, cruise line OBC is typically non-refundable and will automatically be applied to all charges on your account as they occur. It also always is used first against charges if refundable OBC is also on the account. Refundable OBC is typically provided by a third party and any remaining balance would usually be cashed out at the end of the cruise. If you believe your OBC is refundable you just need to confirm that through guest services.
  6. During the day the Boardwalk balcony will allow all of the activities there to be seen and heard and at night, depending on location, will provide a view of the Aqua show. In our one experience with a stateroom in that location, the noise subsided with the end of the last Aqua show and was not noisy at all past that. I would agree with those as well in taking this balcony location over an interior. But, other than that one time, our preference and choice is always and ocean view balcony v all others on the ship.
  7. Then why do they have fixed seating times? What you are describing is the alternative with MTD. And yes, with fixed dining the courses are prepared at about the same time and are intended to be served simultaneously table to table with fixed dining. At least that is how it has been in the 50+ cruises we have been on when we have used the MDR with fixed seating.
  8. I believe Celebrity is open in Australia with reps available over the weekend Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 10-2. I realize that is limited hours.
  9. Don't misunderstand me. If you like sushi, Izumi is very good. I am only suggesting in general to not include that as part of the dining package as it is a la carte and usually costs less that way than if included in the package. But on Voyager there only are Giovani's, Chops, and Izumi, so with your 3 night package you will have to repeat either Giovani's or Chops (which is not hard to do!) or see what they offer as a credit to Izumi. All three are very good restaurants.
  10. RCCL basically floats a placeholder reservation when you purchase one of their packages. The easiest way to handle that is to visit the Matre d at either the placeholder restaurant (Chops?) or at any other of the specialty restaurant after you board and they will handle all of your reservations for you then. Takes about 10 -15 minutes and you are set for the week. I would not suggest waiting and walking up to the restaurants as preferred days and times are likely to not be available without prior reservations. I would also not suggest including Izumi in your package mix as they are a la carte sushi (with one set price for one dinner combination on the menu) that in our experience has never reached the credit they give you for that venue. Much better off going to the other venues with the fees in your package. Just my opinion. However, f you want to eat at Izumi (separately) you certainly can - and should -make reservations for them when you board as well as @coachmike1959 indicates they book up early. And nothing is ever a stupid question the first time with something new. And this was a good one to ask!
  11. You need to ask your stateroom attendant to unlock and open them. However, it is the Captain's discretion if they are not to be opened for any reason. That has not occurred in our experience, though.
  12. The price is the price for the complete dinner service. And they will typically serve multiple appetizers, etc., but they will not serve multiple entrees. Although they have brought an extra dish or two in the past when we have been a group of four or six as "table servings" for all to try. But it may depend on the restaurant and that is not something I would normally count on. (Le Petite Chef will stick to the selected presentation menu).
  13. They may be stopping to pick up staff that may be there or other things they don't want to leave there if things are indeed heating up nearby. Or will have staff close things up. Maybe this may be the last ship to dock there for a while. Who knows. All specualtion.
  14. It can range anywhere from when you book to day of sailing. And I have heard of both. In our experience, as mentioned, that has been from 30 days to 1 week prior. But everyone's experience can certainly vary. Don't think your timing has anything to do with it being the "lowliest" of the suites. More likely triggered by a booking algorithm.
  15. I do not have recent direct experience but believe if some requests have been canceled but one is pending that your offer for that remaining stateroom has not yet been declined and may still be in consideration with others for that stateroom. That is still no guarantee that it will be accepted and you may see that offer eventually canceled as well. Best offer wins.
  16. Put me in the category of "no". We have neve purchased it but, as with others, we are D+ and the combined 10 drinks for my wife and I are plenty. (And yes they are combinable - she can use hers for me and visa versa. And any extras at the end of the day can be cashed out for container beverages to take back to the stateroom for another day). If more are needed of anything the a la carte pricing for each would be far less than any package would justify.
  17. Even without the credit, you may still want to consider having GS place a limit on arcade purchases on their card once on board if that would be a concern. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. Terms & Conditions with the GTY via Club Royale may be different, and I can't speak to that from any direct experience. But I do know from direct experience that once a normal GTY stateroom is assigned, depending on how it was booked, you can contact RCCL directly or through your travel agent and they can move you to any other available stateroom location as long as it is within the assigned category and sub-category. Have done this a couple of times.
  19. As you are not sailing for another 7 weeks you still have a few weeks until you are likely to hear of your assignment. In our experience the GTY's were assigned anywhere from 30 days to 1 week prior to sailing. But as others have indicated, it could be anytime between now and day of sailing. Do not be concerned as you will be assigned a stateroom and you will not get "bumped". And, once assigned, if you don't like the location, depending on who you booked through you can contact the cruise line or your travel agent and they can move your stateroom to another location based on availability within the assigned stateroom category and sub-category.
  20. Stay on the ship if you are concerned. But I can assure you that RCCL will put the safety of its passengers, crew, and ship ahead of any risk and if they believe that a direct risk exists at Labadee you would get your wish. I am certain they are monitoring the situation very closely.
  21. I would call and talk with someone and not rely only on an email.
  22. Thank you for this information and correction to my prior post. I weas not aware of this.
  23. Guess you can't believe everything you read. There was a story published that acknowledged the 2012 enhancements with that refurbishment and again with more in 2017, but also used the word "refurbishment" for what you likely more accurately describe as what would have been since 2017 as a 5 year technical / maintenance drydock. Thanks for the correction.
  24. I don't think so and believe if charging privileges are activated they could only limit the amount that each card can be charged.
  25. Tell her that Guest Services can deny charging privileges, set daily charging limits, or set total spending limits on the kids SeaPass cards if that would be a concern.
