  1. Don't misunderstand me. If you like sushi, Izumi is very good. I am only suggesting in general to not include that as part of the dining package as it is a la carte and usually costs less that way than if included in the package. But on Voyager there only are Giovani's, Chops, and Izumi, so with your 3 night package you will have to repeat either Giovani's or Chops (which is not hard to do!) or see what they offer as a credit to Izumi. All three are very good restaurants.
  2. RCCL basically floats a placeholder reservation when you purchase one of their packages. The easiest way to handle that is to visit the Matre d at either the placeholder restaurant (Chops?) or at any other of the specialty restaurant after you board and they will handle all of your reservations for you then. Takes about 10 -15 minutes and you are set for the week. I would not suggest waiting and walking up to the restaurants as preferred days and times are likely to not be available without prior reservations. I would also not suggest including Izumi in your package mix as they are a la carte sushi (with one set price for one dinner combination on the menu) that in our experience has never reached the credit they give you for that venue. Much better off going to the other venues with the fees in your package. Just my opinion. However, f you want to eat at Izumi (separately) you certainly can - and should -make reservations for them when you board as well as @coachmike1959 indicates they book up early. And nothing is ever a stupid question the first time with something new. And this was a good one to ask!
  3. You need to ask your stateroom attendant to unlock and open them. However, it is the Captain's discretion if they are not to be opened for any reason. That has not occurred in our experience, though.
  4. The price is the price for the complete dinner service. And they will typically serve multiple appetizers, etc., but they will not serve multiple entrees. Although they have brought an extra dish or two in the past when we have been a group of four or six as "table servings" for all to try. But it may depend on the restaurant and that is not something I would normally count on. (Le Petite Chef will stick to the selected presentation menu).
  5. They may be stopping to pick up staff that may be there or other things they don't want to leave there if things are indeed heating up nearby. Or will have staff close things up. Maybe this may be the last ship to dock there for a while. Who knows. All specualtion.
  6. It can range anywhere from when you book to day of sailing. And I have heard of both. In our experience, as mentioned, that has been from 30 days to 1 week prior. But everyone's experience can certainly vary. Don't think your timing has anything to do with it being the "lowliest" of the suites. More likely triggered by a booking algorithm.
  7. I do not have recent direct experience but believe if some requests have been canceled but one is pending that your offer for that remaining stateroom has not yet been declined and may still be in consideration with others for that stateroom. That is still no guarantee that it will be accepted and you may see that offer eventually canceled as well. Best offer wins.
  8. Put me in the category of "no". We have neve purchased it but, as with others, we are D+ and the combined 10 drinks for my wife and I are plenty. (And yes they are combinable - she can use hers for me and visa versa. And any extras at the end of the day can be cashed out for container beverages to take back to the stateroom for another day). If more are needed of anything the a la carte pricing for each would be far less than any package would justify.
  9. Even without the credit, you may still want to consider having GS place a limit on arcade purchases on their card once on board if that would be a concern. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. Terms & Conditions with the GTY via Club Royale may be different, and I can't speak to that from any direct experience. But I do know from direct experience that once a normal GTY stateroom is assigned, depending on how it was booked, you can contact RCCL directly or through your travel agent and they can move you to any other available stateroom location as long as it is within the assigned category and sub-category. Have done this a couple of times.
  11. As you are not sailing for another 7 weeks you still have a few weeks until you are likely to hear of your assignment. In our experience the GTY's were assigned anywhere from 30 days to 1 week prior to sailing. But as others have indicated, it could be anytime between now and day of sailing. Do not be concerned as you will be assigned a stateroom and you will not get "bumped". And, once assigned, if you don't like the location, depending on who you booked through you can contact the cruise line or your travel agent and they can move your stateroom to another location based on availability within the assigned stateroom category and sub-category.
  12. Stay on the ship if you are concerned. But I can assure you that RCCL will put the safety of its passengers, crew, and ship ahead of any risk and if they believe that a direct risk exists at Labadee you would get your wish. I am certain they are monitoring the situation very closely.
  13. I would call and talk with someone and not rely only on an email.
  14. Thank you for this information and correction to my prior post. I weas not aware of this.
  15. Guess you can't believe everything you read. There was a story published that acknowledged the 2012 enhancements with that refurbishment and again with more in 2017, but also used the word "refurbishment" for what you likely more accurately describe as what would have been since 2017 as a 5 year technical / maintenance drydock. Thanks for the correction.
  16. I don't think so and believe if charging privileges are activated they could only limit the amount that each card can be charged.
  17. Tell her that Guest Services can deny charging privileges, set daily charging limits, or set total spending limits on the kids SeaPass cards if that would be a concern.
  18. You will then have two separate purchases on the books when you board, correct? They will still give you a refund for the one you cancel, however it likely will be in the form of an on board credit, not a refund to your CC. I would think since it was a direct purchase by you and not from any ship sponsored OBC, the OBC issued would be refundable, meaning you can cash out any unused portion at the end of the cruise. (And if any was from a ship OBC, that amount would remain as a ship OBC and would not be refundable, but would be used first against your on board charges with any extra refundable portion used last, and any extra from that given back to you). Up to you but in our experience we have been able to get a mix of days and times on board the were good for us. Whatever you decide I hope it works out well for you.
  19. Have to tell you we just ended up today with the same situation as yours, but for an upcoming Celebrity cruise. Had three individual nights purchased last November and tonight saw a better price for a three night package. Called Celebrity and they canceled the November purchase, reinstated the OBC used plus credited the difference back to my CC, repurchased it at the new lower price and listed it on our planner over the phone. The only thing they couldn't do was preserve the original days and times as they were done individually originally and with the package they use the placeholder for day one and we will book them (as I described earlier) on board. Could have done the transactions as well on line with the planner but wanted to be sure the OBC was credited back in a timely manner to be applied to the new booking at the same time, so we called instead. Worked well.
  20. They may be able to do it all for you and replace the individual reservations with the UDP.
  21. I would think they would be two separate transactions through the planner. If so, I would think you would just cancel the individual purchases which would leave the UDP in place. The individual dining purchases will be refunded to your credit card. But to be sure maybe call RCCL and ask them to confirm the process. I would just want to be sure it didn't affect the UDP in any way - it shouldn't, but just to be sure.
  22. They typically give you what is nothing more than a placeholder for the first night with the purchase of the package. But it is just that. Just stop by any specialty restaurant when you board and talk with the Maitre d and they can schedule the entire week for you. I understand it is not necessarily what you want to do when you first board, but we have always been able to arrange our week's schedule in a matter of 10 - 15 minutes in this manner. If you are a higher tier C&A member or in a suite the Concierge can assist with this as well.
  23. Good catch - thanks! Apologies to the OP and @Charles4515 (Just one more senior moment).
  24. Sudsy of the Seas, I believe - LOL. Obliviously just kidding as I have no idea other than it possibly could be a Gilchrist & Soames product as that has been used in their suites. (Believe on Celebrity as well).
