Azamara Internet (Wi-Fi) with Starlink - How well does it work?
excitedofharpenden replied to Mercruiser's topic in Azamara
Odd, pretty sure it's now on Quest. Added recently. Like in the past couple of months. Phil -
I've done that voyage. The scenery is spectacular, but of course it's a drive by. We saw some penguins, but I don't recall much whale activity near us. I've never had much luck whale spotting. Tried it in Hawaii and the same result. Very little action to see. But the Antarctica cruise was very special. Phil

On a number of cruises I haven't had the final invoice left in the door so this isn't new. I do keep a tab of it on the TV though so as not to be "surprised". Phil

Hello Carol Cabezas (CEO), What on Earth is Going On?
excitedofharpenden replied to Marylebone37's topic in Azamara
Rhetorical questions like that posed by the OP serve no purpose here. I also think there is a Cruise Critic rule on Cruiseline bashing. Whilst there are some issues, it's time for some to move on and deal with them in a grown up manner. Jmho. Phil -
I'm very confused by the whole thing. 🤷♂️ Phil

I agree. Armchair experts. There are a few and even reading the pages of this site won't find a true picture because it can be a place of extremes. Personal experience is the only real way. Phil
-
Likewise. I had a fantastic cruise on Journey and that was after the Dream Team of Johannes, Heike and Eric parted. Phil
-
They had the best TV adverts for Boddingtons! Phil

What a stupid comment. I mean, really? I have a personal bugbear against those that are close minded enough to have opinions and worry about things like this. There! I said it. Apart from the fact you don't answer the question. To the OP, go and speak to the Maitre d' about your requirements. My experience of Azamara is that they are only too willing to accommodate wherever possible. Phil

Cruise Ship Location Port of Piraeus (Athens)
excitedofharpenden replied to JM0115's topic in Azamara
A tip from what I do. Download the Marine Traffic app and then on the morning of going to the ship do a search and find it on the map and you can show your driver where exactly it is. Useful with large ports like Piraeus. I've used it a lot of times on those occasions. Phil -
Nice idea Eric. I've used the bon voyage gifts before and they do a good job. I think the spa credit sounds like a great plan. Treatments in common with most places like this are expensive. A few years ago I posted an up to date price list on Quest. They've gone up since then. This looks like a good link. https://paulandcarolelovetotravel.com/azamara-spa-prices/ Just to say they do run specials throughout the cruise, especially for port days so if you decide to buy a spa credit then let your daughter and future son in law know this and get them to go and chat to the spa staff. They are helpful. In addition, if they sign up for and attend the spa chat on boarding day then they have a chance of winning a $500 spa credit. Worth a go. Phil

I thought it was a good and factual email. Not sure sorry is appropriate, but rather putting peoples minds at rest that they are working hard to sort and nobody is going to lose out. Phil

From my experience I think that as far as loyalty level is concerned it's just a case of being patient of what is reported on the website. Mine was wrong (very wrong!) a few days ago, but is now correct on all the devices I use (iPad, iPhone and computer). It's why I resisted contacting Azamara about it. Phoning up querying that's it's not right will probably just bung up the phone lines even more. Phil
-
My level and points are both incorrect when I log in using my iPhone, but correct when using the ipad or PC. Confusing. To the OP, I wouldn't be too concerned about the 30 day rule. You have much evidence that you have tried and I am sure that Azamara will not hold you to that once they know what has gone on. Phil
-
It's all a bit of a mess. The loyalty points and level I can live with in the hope it is fixed (my points and status on the Celebrity login are correct and list all my past Azamara cruises, but not on the Azamara site), but the way the website now deals with new bookings is a real problem for me. I have to enter all my personal details every time I want a quote on a cruise. I followed Grandma Cruising's instructions on pulling down a list of cabins to choose, but once I selected an alternative I couldn't save it. Kept allocating me the same cabin. I'd have made my mind up and booked by now, but the new system is not working for me. Phil

Thank you Denise. That is helpful. I'll have a go tomorrow with a couple of cruises I'm looking at. Phil

Same here and this is a big issue for me. Something is up. I used to use a German site to look up cabins as it was easier, but now that isn't giving any cabin numbers either. Has anyone found a list of cabins available to choose? I went through the booking process and it just allocated me a cabin with no choice. Phil
-
You are stressing far too much in my view. About everything. Just go and enjoy your time and give them a chance to sort out the issues, if need be face to face when it's easier. Phil
-
A few faces there that I recognise. Glad you had fun. Phil

Same here with a couple I've been following. I won't be rushing to book on the website until it calms down. Second one is still on sale with a large US agency at less than half the price. Phil

If the last time you sailed Azamara was 2009 then a lot has changed. Whether to the good or not depends on you of course. The addition of Tapas in the evenings in a revamped Living Room from the old Looking Glass that had nothing like it is for me a huge addition. Phil

Azamara starting new loyalty program/system?
excitedofharpenden replied to Crew's Shipmate's topic in Azamara
I used to make good use of this perk, but haven't used it a number of years. I used to be able to visit the future cruise desk and they provided me with a list of value cruises for solo travellers. This I've not found being done any longer. Last cruise on Quest and with a very knowledgeable João there I tried to book a cruise with him I really did, but there was nothing that attracted me. My experience of other future cruise staff hasn't been good and this seems to be endorsed here by others. Phil -
Azamara starting new loyalty program/system?
excitedofharpenden replied to Crew's Shipmate's topic in Azamara
As Discoverer Platinum I get three free nights for every 750 point threshold passed. They aren't really of any value to me, given my booking habits and I always have to bring it to the attention of Azamara that I should be getting them. There is no proactivity. To me and having attained the level it's really a bit of a slap in the face. Having said that, it's the service on the ship that has me coming back, certainly not their loyalty program. Phil -
The inference by Bonnie was it was not always the case as she said "now". That's why I said it was my understanding rather than a definite yes. Shame we don't have a Bonnie here now to give us the latest official. Phil
