  1. What's the name of this nightclub, and is it on all Voyager class ships? We're interested because we're on Explorer next April and the venue sounds interesting.
  2. As a general comment here, we all need to remember that nothing is ever 'free' on any cruise ship, or any cruise line. Some items (including some food items) are offered at no additional charge (included with the cruise fare), while other items incur an additional charge at point of sale onboard the ship. It is the 'included with the cruise fare' items that some folks confuse with and incorrectly characterize as 'free'. 🙂
  3. The Seaview Pool on NS is 'supposed' to be adults only, but it is not enforced.
  4. Plan ahead.. fill your water bottles from the tap in your cabin and stash them in the 'fridge' to cool down.
  5. In our opinion, the best water on any of HAL's ships comes directly from he faucet in your cabin, or the water dispensers in the buffet area. And the price is right too!
  6. When does this often mentioned 'Black Friday Sale' typically happen, and how do we know when it's in effect... by just keeping an eye on our planners?
  7. I believe I read somewhere on the Royal site that a My Time reservation can be modified in the app the day of the reservation. Modifications include cancellation, # of people and time (dependent on availability). We have 6:45pm reservations for each day of our upcoming Explorer sailing as 'placeholders', but we may end up 'tweaking' any one of those depending on shore excursion return times, friends joining us on a particular night, or outright cancel one if we need to. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on the information here..
  8. Because HAL chooses to ''modify" official shipboard terminology to better suit its guest's understanding doesn't make those terms any more correct. And I do agree that 'a rose by any other name...' IOW, a passageway referred to by HAL as a 'hallway', 'corridor' (or any other term they choose to dream up), is still correctly referred to as a 'passageway'. But we digress.. I've made my point, and you've made yours; we just disagree. So we can now return to the original topic of this thread.. whatever that was! 😁
  9. It was my honor to serve.. And I've discovered in recent years that civilian cruising is definitely a lot more fun! 😁
  10. Nope.. After 25 years in the U.S. Navy, trust me, I know my shipboard terminology. An indoor 'corridor' or 'hallway' on a ship is called a 'passageway'. The floors of a ship are called decks, the walls are called bulkheads, and the stairs are called ladders. There are no halls or corridors in a ship, only passageways. Look it up.. 😉
  11. Okay, that would explain it I suppose.. It's interesting though that VCL is noted on the deck plan as being on deck 14 forward, along with Dizzy's, Izumi and Diamond Club. However, VCL is not listed in the Bars ad Lounges section of the app, while Dizzy's and Diamond Club are.
  12. I apologize for not understanding the term, but what exactly is 'intestinal misleading'? 🤔
  13. You all are getting me excited about the Viking Crown Lounge on Explorer, but I don't see it listed in the app under bars and lounges for our sailing. Any ideas?
  14. But you only mentioned IOS connections as if that was all that was out there. There is a whole other world (i.e. Android) that is interested in the information available.
  15. USB-C is now common across all mobile platforms, not just IOS. Both of our Android devices also have USB-C charging ports.
  16. The bags are not 'free', you pay for them in the more expensive fare. It's all a shell game really in the air industry, and in cruising too for that matter.
