  1. You have not refuted my argument, other than to say 'get off my lawn'. Do you have anything else?
  2. Problem is that I can get all that without spending the extra money. I'm still not getting the benefit..
  3. If you're paying that kind of money for the 'Welcome Lunch', I would recommend skipping it.
  4. My point was not that obesity and alcohol abuse in others affects your health, but those conditions most certainly affect your pocketbook, in ways already pointed out.
  5. I dunno, ask @mugtech.. they brought it up.
  6. I don't recall God chiming in on this thread.. 🫤
  7. I think Holland America did on our last sailing with them (March 2023), but I could be wrong on that since we had the drink package and it really didn't matter to us. 😉
  8. I'm curious about this because most of the reviews I've read about The Key package is that it is most definitely NOT worth it. Especially on the smaller ships where show and activity reservations are not needed, and in some cases not even offered. We're on Explorer in April to the Eastern Caribbean with no tender ports (so that perk doesn't apply), have MTD reservations for 6:45pm every night, want to remain flexible with our embarkation day lunch plans. We plan to purchase the Voom package separately and be done with it. Am I missing anything?
  9. Ummmm, after 24 years in the U.S. Navy, most of those years at sea; followed by 25+ years of civilian cruising, I think I know what I'm talking about.
  10. I wouldn't like that at all. I prefer an ocean view when cruising as opposed to a view of a shopping mall.
  11. Glad we have the DBP for our upcoming Explorer sailing! 🙂
  12. I read that the 'welcome lunch' menu is derived from the Chops menu.
  13. In some hotels you can smoke inside and outside of designated rooms, like in Vegas for example.
  14. You know what they say, right? "The early bird gets the worm" 😉
  15. And this is precisely the crux of the problem: One's definition of "Casual" may be a woman in a wet bikini, or a man in his whitey tighties and shower shoes in the MDR on formal night. By your comment, this would be acceptable to you?
  16. On the contrary.. The direct causality is clear: Obesity and alcohol abuse along with their associated health costs directly impacts me in the very real form of increased costs for my health insurance.
  17. Yes, they are.. in the form of the price of the cruise.
  18. Yes, indirectly.. as they receive a commission on the cruise they sold you.
  19. Not really true.. It is well documented that the health care costs associated with issues such as obesity and alcohol abuse in this country are shared by us all in the form of increased health care insurance costs across the board.
  20. That's in her job description as a TA, and you are paying for her service, so you don't really 'owe her any more'..
  21. Can you please elaborate on this a bit more (for a Royal newbie), I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. We currently have 6:45pm reservations for each evening of our upcoming EOS sailing in April.
