  1. Some people are not aware of what they aren’t getting when they board. They purchased a Plus/Premier package when they booked the cruise (a decision which would have been on the information provided by Princess at that time i.e. free Medallion usage, free room service and free Alfredo’s). Now, in our case, in 2 days’ time, we will be boarding and if you are not on social media, you will have no idea that those items, which you paid for months ago, are now not included in your cruise experience unless you fork out more money.
  2. Not if they bought a package for X number of coffees you don’t. You keep what they have pre-paid and charge any new customers the new rates. I pre-buy a television and go to collect my item; the shop doesn’t ask for more money when they hand it over at my collection point, but they would to a new customer who hasn’t already paid!
  3. Exactly. Paid months ago, all non-refundable because that’s what the T&Cs are over here and still haven’t received any emails about the change, even though we sail in 2 days!
  4. Don’t try Princess then as that’s exactly what has happened to us. I think all the mass cruise lines are presently doing the same thing.
  5. Yes, very sad. We had our honeymoon there 25 years ago.
  6. According to our Princess documentation, we are tendering at Olden and some pax have also been advised this by their tour operators.
  7. A current package. I’m sure there will be many on our cruise that have a package but won’t qualify because our final payment date was back in May, not than many months after the new charge introduction (in cruise booking terms).
  8. So Princess are charging the same $10pppd to upgrade whether you initially paid $40 or $50 for the Plus package? Shocked that they aren’t asking for $20pppd if you only paid $40. How is any of this fair?
  9. Agree with everything you have said 👍. I’m still awaiting my email and we sail in a couple of days! Looks like ‘Princess doesn’t change’ - my philosophy and totally ‘off script’ 🤣.

  11. Yes, we did too and that was our understanding - Princess doesn’t seem to know what’s happening either 🙄.
  12. No, but it will be on my sailing in a couple of days and as I still haven’t received any notification from Princess, this highlights exactly what I should be getting.
  13. Good to hear that the CD is enhancing your voyage 👍. Yes, the next sailing is a 14-night cruise. We’re the ones with the ‘new’ changes onboard - should be fun 🙈.
  14. Thanks for this as according to the above, the MedallionClass experience includes ordering food and drinks in with the Standard fare, not an optional add-on.
  15. Wonder why pax who are due to sail imminently aren’t receiving ‘the’ email, especially when we’ve been receiving all these other ‘informative’ notifications 😏. Perhaps they are waiting until we board as they are too embarrassed to inform us this close to sailing (hoping pax on cruises further out will forget by the time they cruise), and prefer the onboard staff to deal with the fallout instead 🤷‍♀️.

  17. So I bought the package but, obviously, can’t have it shipped which should mean that I have a $10pp (x7) credit coming my way - enough there for pizza to share at Alfredo’s 😏.
  18. I think it depends on itinerary. Our cruise next year on X to Japan has more days and was less than Princess, both with the drinks package when we priced it out.
  19. Yep, me too. Got all excited and then realised the information was out of date 🤦‍♀️: Complete the OceanReady® travel checklist to give you Green Lane access. That means less waiting and faster check-in! Queues – who wants them? Not us. Which is why we had you choose an arrival window in the MedallionClass® app. We limit entry into the terminal to your assigned time to streamline the experience. And whatever we do, we will not gain access to the Green Lane 🙄.
  20. Perhaps we’re not getting any emails in the U.K. as we’re going to be grandfathered in when we board on Sat 🤣😂😁🤣😂.

This is what I have been wittering on about since we knew the changes were happening: your online booking states ‘Purchased’ but your actual Travel Summary says that you’re on the old package, without any of the new ‘enhancements’ 🙄. You have to call to Princess or your TA to upgrade as there is no facility for you to do it online.
