  1. I was on the Sky sailing with you and I felt like there were many pre P&O cruisers onboard. Even though we’ve never taken a P&O cruise ourselves (30th cruise, so not novices), all the long dresses and tuxedos (and of course the many British accents) made it feel like a typical P&O cruise - unsure if I’m correct? We don’t tend to cruise directly from Southampton, so it was probably more noticeable to us.
  2. I didn’t want the $60 Princess perks, just the items I paid for when I booked. Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that it’s not just X making all the changes and upsetting their guests. From recent threads, it shows that more of the long-standing cruisers are considering alternatives, including non-cruise vacations. We’re now looking at river cruising for 2025.
  3. We obviously can’t refare if booked over here as we don’t get price drops, so the packages are more likely the ones when the original booking was made. Personally, I felt more peeved to think that the didn’t even have the decency to let pax know before boarding - I believe none of the U.K. pax were notified, only NA passengers. I didn’t want the daily cream desserts or fitness classes, just the items like Alfredo’s which I’d already paid for three months previous.
  4. The changes on Princess came after your cruises. We found out a week before we cruised that we weren’t grandfathered in, even though we had the Plus package and had made final payment 3 months prior. Many pax were complaining at GS on our sailing as we were the first sailing after the implementations on Sky Princess - no official notification from Princess until we boarded - so they left the crew to face all the complaints.
  5. Princess did not grandfather in those pax who had already paid for the Plus/Premier packages prior to Dec, even though many had paid for their cruises, in full, months before the new changes! They also never informed pax until they boarded that there were new exclusions - not a pleasant feeling, very cavalier in fact. So, they are all it, not just X.
  6. It was the same on the previous sailing too. Our waiter went off sick during the cruise and was replaced by someone from Alfredo’s (who was very good).
  7. We didn’t frequent either on the last Sky sailing. On principle, I would not after never being notified of the changes. Never saw Alfredo’s busy on our sailing either.
  8. And I’ll add the X used to honour price drops over here and then stopped many years ago.

  10. Not heard anyone yelling, just expressing their displeasure at being treated like second-class citizens because they were not informed officially of these changes until they boarded, when Princess could have easily notified them.
  11. Missed bumping into you at the M&G. As I posted on the other thread, we have spoken to many that have made official complaints at GS about the changes to their packages. My DS even went after 11pm last night to sort another issue out and there was a couple next to him complaining about the awful behaviour/treatment shown from Princess. Anyway, we are determined to move on and enjoy the cruise. First night MDR was a disaster regarding the time it took. We went (pre-booked) at 7.10pm and we’re still waiting for out main course at 9pm 🤦‍♀️. We eventually finished at 9.45pm. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, being the first night, and yesterday (on another table) was much quicker . Bergen weather has been tremendous today, considering it’s the wettest city in Europe - we’ve been very fortunate on our previous visits too,
  12. No, corporate have told them that they are not allowed to apparently. You can see (& hear) that they totally understand why pax are upset.
  13. Still no email until we boarded when we received the condescending upgrade letter. As expected, many people are complaining at GS and sending official notifications via the front staff to the powers that be, as they were unaware of the changes until they boarded. Feel really sorry for the staff who were unable to say exactly how they felt about the awful predicament they have been left in. They knew it was coming but were obviously having to deal with the fallout - Princess could have made things so much easier for those frontline staff if they’d have even notified pax what would be happening - shameful!

  15. Cheers to you, too. We’re now not far from you and a little closer to the port. But guess what, still no email from Princess informing me of the changes! Well, there’s a shock…NOT! See you on board tomorrow, with hopefully our Plus packages still allowing us a 🥂.

  17. That’s exactly what I did but Princess has now changed the goal posts since I paid, in full, for my cruise. So, no, it doesn’t make any difference what you envisage your cruise will cost as it can be totally different by the time you sail.
  18. Sky. Ours is the first cruise with the new implementations. Look back at the others who have commented on this thread, and are on the same sailing, and have said that they’ve not received ‘the’ email. I have received another half a dozen others this week - even a free subscription to the Telegraph and one telling me to book my arrival time 🙄 - but nothing about the changes!
  19. But there have been, however, not to everyone. It appears that those on imminent cruises, maybe from certain areas, have not been informed. So why?
  20. But they haven’t! You have seen the posts from pax who sail in the next few days/weeks and they haven’t received anything. And some say that’s okay because ‘they can’. Poor show from them and the posters who say it’s fine.
  21. And you misquoted my post totally. I was referring to SOME pax not even being aware of it because it appears that those who sail in the matter of days have NOT been notified, yet others who cruise later this year have!
  22. They can’t send an email to everyone it affects - ridiculous statement.
  23. As I previously stated, not a good way to start a cruise: walk on board and find out you haven’t got what they said you had when you paid! Great customer service there - wait until the person is on board to find out. No excuse for that, no matter how many times you keep stating that they can do it!
