X were not offering cans back in 2017 in the Med. If you wanted soda, they would pour it out of the can and give you the glass and refuse to give you the can. You had to keep going back to the bar to have your glass refilled. After she left the Med and returned to the US, the cans went back to being given out 🤷‍♀️. I remember complaining about it at the time. I’m sure @Texed will remember my posts as we laughed about ‘can-gate’ at the time.

Yes, some of them did qualify the discounted flight offer - ours did 👍. We got the OBC credit too and our usual discount from our TA. Hence us booking another cruise when we previously didn’t have another one on the cards prior to our Japan sailing.

I think it was the amount of people who were turned away on that one Royal sailing that shocked me!

I know the suites for our sailing started at approximately £2500pp, which would be for the Sky Suites; you generally stay in the higher suites and I didn’t look at those. The OV were £499pp as I did tell my DS in case he wished to book with his GF. We decided to go for Aqua at the very top of the ship for a complete change. Our favourite cabins on M class are those FV cabins that you stated are now becoming suites. It’s a pity they aren’t updating all the other cabins 😔. We’re sailing on Millie next summer too in an SV, so it will be interesting to see the difference between the two ships, especially as we’ve sailed on them both previously.

As I posted on another thread, I think there will be lots of Brits on those revised itinerary cruises as the prices over here were too good to miss. I know we weren’t really planning another cruise before Japan next year, but decided to book Infinity when we saw the promotions. The last time we were on her was 2014, so we’re not expecting her to be in the same shape as back then, ten years on.

We are in the opposite camp to you: sailed on all S class ships and all M class ships (except Summit) on more than one occasion. Still not ventured on E class as we prefer proper balconies and I’m not prepared to pay higher prices for an oceanview cabin (IV). As the above poster stated, it’s all about personal preference. Now if a real good deal came on an E class, I might, just might, consider it 😁.

Did you pay a portion of the amount with a CC? Only asking as I have a similar issue, but am waiting to see if the amount goes back on my CC. Strange thing is with ours, I booked tours, cancelled and rebooked when they went on sale and my DS’s account showed the refunded OBC straight away, while ours didn’t 🤷‍♀️. I then did the same for my friends’ and all of theirs went back as OBC instantly, yet some of theirs was paid by CC too. It’s a mystery to me how we’ve all completed exactly the same process and yet had different outcomes.

It usually depends if you booked when they offered a price guarantee if they agree to a price drop or not; perhaps you have booked under those circumstances because I’ve had to move my bookings across and rebook at the cheaper rate in order to obtain the lower price. You obviously don’t get any discount from booking direct with X either, like you can obtain from a TA. All that being said, it’s been a long time since I booked over here but I did recently as the prices for the Infinity cancelled cruises were so much less here than in the US, with the added bonus of the flight deal too. As I previously stated, it’s swings and roundabouts.

FYI, you can’t name TAs on CC. From my own personal experience, if you book with a U.S. TA, then they give OBC rather than discounts on the cruise price, which is the norm over here (I am specifically referring to X here). It’s swings and roundabouts: sometimes the deals are better over here and sometimes it’s better booking in the States. Many years ago, we used to be able to get the fares repriced if they decreased before sailing like you can in the US; unfortunately, that changed.

Yes, I looked at April and couldn’t get the flights at £199, so went for March instead! Some TAs obviously got in first for group bookings as they are advertising complete packages from £700, including flights, luggage, transfers, 11-night cruises and $300 OBC!

X are offering some flights at £49pp now (mainly Gatwick I think). They were £199 with them last week, so they have obviously got group bookings with the likes of EasyJet for certain sailing dates (£199 was cheaper than going directly with EasyJet last week on certain flight routes).

Yes, I’m presuming that most of those sailings will be full of Brits after the prices offered on those cruises over here.

Yes, they are changing this to only showers in mini suites, no baths, on their new class of ships.

Does Elite Plus still get the free coffees at Cafe al Bacio or has that disappeared since covid?

For future reference, I believe that isn’t the case on their new Sun and Star ships.
