  1. Anthem of the Seas Grand Suite Both of us are Diamond As I understand things as of today, we receive 4 drink vouchers each each of us receive free zoom internet since we are in a GS So, my questions are (with these considerations that we no longer drink alcohol like we used to) Will the 1 or 2 drinks we have each night in the Suite Lounge count towards the voucher? Maybe 3 or 4 specialty coffee's a day. So, should that be a "Refreshment pkg", or a "coffee card"? Refreshment pkg offers coffee's along with water and sodas. And the JR Shakes 😁
  2. Please provide a link or source for this information. It is my understanding that some insurers “may” provide a means to guarantee payment in some limited cases. However, I have never been told or read from a reliable source that a “Primary policy will quite often guarantee or pay the deposit required”.
  3. A requirement? No However, can you afford a major medical emergency on a cash based system? Your Blue Cross Blue Shield may have an international rider but know that Cozumel General Hospital is NOT going to direct bill your insurance company and let you go home. There are many stories recently where people had to start up fundme websites, just to pay the hospital bills to be discharged from the hospital. Note: Travel Insurance doesn't solve this basic issue of paying upfront either. However, the right policy will refund you the money. At least the refund allows you to avoid bankruptcy
  4. While I encourage people to try multiple lines, I can't get behind the complaint of charging for more than 2 entrees. 1 entree is plenty. 2 is okay. 3 is just gluttony at its finest but still you do you. Just pay for it.
  5. In instances like this, I research terminal maps on google and I use FlightAware and Flightradar24 to look at the history of past arrival and departure gates and past history of arrival and departure times. The past history does not give an exact answer for your travel day but can help determine a plan of action. Does past history indicate that the incoming flight is in a different terminal than the outbound flight? Do I need my running shoes? Are my flights normally early or late. By looking at the terminal maps you can see what transportation options are available if changing terminals. You can see where the closest toilet is. Maybe where the closest coffee shop is. etc.
  6. As a Veteran, I can only say that after sailing for 20 years on Carnival and other brands, I've only found the military discount useful 1 time. Every other time either the discount wasn't available, or I could find better pricing elsewhere. However, if this is a battle that you choose to fight, I would imagine that once you get someone on the phone, you won't let them off the phone until you are satisfied. Go get em!
  7. whos name is on the vacation protection policy? No good deed goes unpunished. Nice guys finish last.
  8. Well, you're probably going to be very surprised when you can't use mobile check-in. The ticket needed to get thru TSA won't be issued until you show a physical valid passport at the ticket counter.
  9. There is no "dress code" on elegant night. It's just a suggestion. Yes, back in the day, people got all decked out. However, those days are a bygone era. Today? 5% might be in tux and gown, 30% might be in suits/with tie and business attire, the rest will be dressed just like yesterday's evening meal.
  10. Yes. In case of emergency on the ground, it’s important for emergency responders to see what’s going on inside the cabin. while at the jetway in the summertime, it’s important to keep the shades closed to help cool the interior of the plane.
  11. I can only wish and hope and pray that this someday becomes my biggest complaint in life.
  12. Its in the luggage storage area in the bottom of the bus. The driver stays with the bus.
  13. Domestic Fliers Will Need Real ID Compliant Identification in 2023 (msn.com)
  14. Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance right? As an US citizen, an ETIAS will be required late next year to visit/enter a Schengen member country. ETIAS - European Travel Information and Authorisation System. My question, and I have sent an e-mail requesting clarification but no response, is will cruisers making port stops only be required to apply for this ETIAS. Example would be a cruise from Southampton with port stops in Schengen countries and return to Southampton. Yes, an ETA for the UK will be required in the future, but currently not scheduled until 2025.
  15. First of all, "Unfair" stops being an excuse for things not going your way when you graduate from kindergarten. 2nd, if your policy is secondary then you have to show proof that you have exhausted all other methods to recover any perceived losses.
  16. To expand on what FlyerTalker is talking about is that all air travel purchased from a cruise line are considered consolidator tickets. These tickets are negotiated in advance. The terms and conditions "may" include restrictions that would not pertain to tickets purchased directly from the airline itself. That's one of the reasons for the savings along with other reasons. 99% of the time, the consumer won't experience any difference, except for "maybe" not earning miles or not being able to pre-select seats. The biggest difference a consumer may feel is if things go TU and the flight runs into irregular operations issues. There is a thread above this one that discusses Cruise Air and Deviation. It's old, but still relevant. Knowlege is power. Read the thread, then decide if the savings outweigh the benefits for your needs.
  17. When you experience true oppression, come back and talk to us. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. I can feel your pain, but they are within their right to require receipts. I filed a claim for my Lost/Misplaced/Stolen wedding band. I had to file multiple claims and provided original receipt. Was able to provide all documentation and finally received max benefit of $500. I mean can you imagine the number of fake claims they could be liable for if they didn’t require all this documentation?
  19. When I was trying to do some research regarding my BCBS Healthcare policy thru my employer that did cover international travel, I called and asked some very specific questions. One of those questions being repatriation of remains. The answer was an emphatic No. That was one of the many reasons that a separate travel insurance policy worked better for my needs.
  20. Here's the problem with "reviews" from my personal experience. I have never written a review when things go well or have met my expectation. I have written reviews those few times whenever someone exceeded my expectations. However, if I'm emotionally invested and something has gone horribly wrong in "my" perceived expectation,, I'm blasting away. I admit that when I say "my" expectations, it's very possible that my expectations were unrealistic. The same goes with travel insurance. I would wager that most of the bad reviews regarding travel insurance is when someone files a claim and it is rejected, it's because that event was never a covered reason to begin with. Even though your thought process is the same, the travel insurance thought process is vastly different. Ergo, a review that is flaming hot. Allianz is not a bad travel insurance provider. That's not to say any provider is eager to pay out on losses, but they will pay if you do your due diligence and retain all documentation required.
  21. I don't disagree with the concept. however, that breed is dying out and being replaced with the new breed
  22. Sorry for your loss, first of all. Second, I caution against no credit cards, especially when traveling. If something happens while you are out of country and require medical, you will be required to pay for the service upfront. (Travel Insurance is reimbursement only in 99.99999% of cases) I doubt that you'll be carrying $10K+ in cash with you. Also, many parts of the world and growing here in the States, businesses are going cashless. But, hey, you do you. 3rd To your question. Yes, your idea would work well but I would start with $100 rather than just $50
  23. Yep, new technology is just horrible. Back in the day, when taking orders on paper, I remember when the dang pencil broke, or the pen ran out of ink, or the paper got wet somehow and my order was wrong. Why couldn't these people just memorize my order like back in the day. Technology and progress has got to go!
