  1. When checking, it says to allow 4 hours for check in at LHR.
  2. Neither of us drink alcohol and the internet on the Alaska cruise was beyond dismal. We had the Plus package but have opted for standard for our upcoming Norway/Iceland and Mediterranean cruises. We have prepaid our gratuities and have purchased the soda packages and 1 coffee package so that I can have unlimited hot chocolate and my husband will use the 15 specialty coffees or, IF THEY LET US, have a brewed coffee in place of the "specialty". The only thing I will miss is the milkshakes at Coffee & Cones so I'm hoping I'll be able to purchase that individually. It was nice to have the Plus and not even THINK about anything but, with no alcohol, crappy internet, it just doesn't make sense for us.
  3. Where did you hear there was even a threat of AT going out of business?
  4. @hallasmThank you so much for the valuable information. Much appreciated.
  5. @hallasm We will be visiting Skjolden May 16th, arriving at 7 am, Olden May 17th, arriving at 9 am and Alesund May 18th, arriving at 7 am. What time would you recommend we be up on deck to ensure we enjoy the beauty as we cruise into these ports? I know Alesund is at the START of a fjord but you did say it has lovely scenery too. We are hoping to do the Loen skylift while visiting Olden if it’s a nice day. At that time of year, do you think morning or afternoon would find the sun in the best position for optimal photo opportunities? It's quite expensive so I'd like to get the timing right. Thanks.
  6. Is that the first row AFTER Club Class? There is a curtain between the first row economy and the last row Club. We had the last row in Club Class and the people behind us kept opening the curtain saying it was too hot.
  7. We LOVE Air Transat because of the Club Class option. Air Canada has frequent flights which is important in case of travel disruptions. TAP doesn't even get good reviews from Portugal residents.
  8. Don't miss a trip to Zaans Schans and a canal cruise. Everyone says Amsterdam is a walking city but the cobblestones played havoc with my feet/knees so we were more than happy to buy a transit pass. Reasonably priced and convenient.
  9. COVID has stopped our desire to meet and greet fellow passengers. Maybe others feel the same.
  10. We're not on your cruise but, at this time with COVID still around, we're still not planning on joining any meet and greets. Our health is more important than social activities. Possibly others feel the same.
  11. My Mum was in a Daytona Beach hospital for 3 weeks after taking ill on vacation in November 2006. We wanted to fly her home but not one hospital in all of Ontario would accept her. The insurance company, her family physician and our family physician tried without success. She died in the Florida hospital.
  12. Aside from being unethical, from personal experience, you must be medically fit and released by a physician before you can fly back to Canada. Depending on how serious your condition is, you may need to be accompanied by medical personnel. If there is no bed available at home, and this is a BIG issue these days, you can't return to Canada.
  13. Hope you can answer a question for me. We're booked in D511 for a cruise in May. Wondering if the lifeboats being just one deck below causes any issues. We prefer Baha deck but it wasn't available.
  14. I read that the 2024 cruises were not included in this sale.
  15. What is the emergency medical coverage like?
  16. Sorry, tried to attach a scan of the documentation received from our TA but the scanner isn't working. I am 72, my husband is 76. All it says is PLAN: All inclusive Benefit Summary Trip Cancellation - Sum Insured Trip Interruption - Unlimited Emergency Medical - Up to $5,000,000 CAD Baggage Loss or Damage - Up to $1,500 Baggage Delay - Up to $500 Flight Accident - Up to $100,000 Travel Accident - Up to $50,000 Total was $2,274.48
  17. It's expensive but we take the Manulife total coverage through our TA and there is no questionnaire. My husband is diabetic and is on lots of medications (all preventative but no one cares about that).
  18. Checked to ensure the cabin we wanted was available on both Northbound and Southbound. No problem. Asked our TA to see if we could get this cabin in the 14 night return from Vancouver instead of 2 x 7. The answer was NO! They are still not releasing the best location cabins. Guess we'll just keep checking.
  19. Surely it must be a problem. I checked all dates in May and June with the same result; only forward and aft cabins available.
  20. Balcony, 14 night on Grand Princess. No mid, mid-forward or mid-aft available!
  21. We did this trip in May 2022, are doing Norway Fjords and Iceland in May 2023 and Med cruise September 2023. Not willing to pay what they are asking for May 2024 to Alaska.
