  1. Plenty of taxis from Cruise Terminal, allow about 1 hour there, purchase tickets online well in advance. Taxis available on return, if none there, Clement will telephone and it will arrive in minutes. Allow an extra 45 minutes on the return, 15 minutes for port traffic, with 30 minutes for a visit to the Duty Free, to pick up a few bottles of La Favorite La Filbuste.
  2. A thought. If the one requires a fixed assigned table with the total flexibility of open sitting, together with an enhanced menu and dining experience, then seriously consider booking Britannia Club.
  3. The only other two one knows of offering a snorkel from Carlisle are https://www.divebarbadosblue.com/product/snorkeling-tours/ https://www.beautifulbarbadostoursandexcursions.com/copy-of-snorkel-cruises Good luck….
  4. Never heard of a small operator at the pier offering an all inclusive.
  5. Has one tried booking with the best? https://www.elegancebarbados.com
  6. To assist, found these videos of “Gold” Rooms https://youtu.be/cw-WOPGsB1c https://youtu.be/zuzLR41Nj2A Lounge https://youtu.be/k7Oomb1Xweo
  7. As one Grandmother would say “Oh Dear”.
  8. One has worn for many years Sperry Billfish. So comfortable. Long lasting. Wear on ship/onshore with shorts. Also day/evening casual anywhere. Thick soles with good padding, strong uppers, copes with all terrains. Material insets let one’s feet breathe and cool. Treat them rough, get them grubby, then a plunge into bucket of water and they’re ready to go again. Sperry have half sizes and three width fittings. They don’t scream tourist, but a discerning yacht person.
  9. Romantic? A passeggiata (hand holding is compulsory), followed by glass of fizz in Jim’s, then a long slow dinner on the Terrace under the stars. Then close eyes for a few seconds, relax and let the Singer and Rome give one a big gentle hug. One will then understand.
  10. This is our favourite in Rome… Yes, it’s a splurge….. One can read all the plaudits on websites, but it will not compare to seeing it real time. Rooms, ambiance and service will wow. DW summed it up in a phrase “When we’ve been out for the day, we are content to be going back”. Not every hotel we stayed at can be mentioned in this way. Singer Palace can be considered a beautiful destination inside a beautiful destination. Note to self…. Do it and not suffer a “what if?”.
  11. To assist. Here.’s a previous “Luggage Storage” thread
  12. To assist…. Beach Spaces link…. https://www.scorpiosmykonos.com/spaces
  13. Not crowded? Try…. https://www.scorpiosmykonos.com Best to make a beach reservation in advance/online…. From website, click on beach, reservation calendar will popup.
  14. There are 9 seater minivans……Say about $90 e/w for whole van.
  15. Little tip… As one’s Voyage is part of a WC, ask at the onboard Duty Free Liquor store if QM2 still issues the “Thursday Voucher”. There is no actual voucher, but it’s a WC concession for pax to purchase liquor from the Duty Fee, then take immediately back to one’s stateroom, every Thursday. Additional. Hope other CC members will post critiques, plus hints and tips, of their favoured Singapore Hotels, to assist in the search.
  16. From personal experience. Obtaining refunds, because of Cunard errors, or having FCDs restored, one is up against the wonderful Cunard Computer System. The recurring nightmare will be when Cunard Customer Services say “COMPUTER SAYS NO”, which the Blob at the end of the telephone will 100% accept even though there is an error. And because COMPUTER SAYS NO, the Blob will hear, but not listen. One has got to be resolute and keep on fighting. Good luck…..
  17. Link to Gold Lounge….. Two Hours of evening Cocktails and hors d’œuvers in the Lounge, plus an excellent breakfast https://www.fairmont-singapore.com/facilities-services/fairmont-gold-lounge/ Enjoy….
  18. La Concha…. Take a front sea view room.
  19. Best suggestion. The beach at Catherine’s Café. Book one’s day/lunch in advance. Taxi e/w $40/50…. Or join the masses at Turners, where there a small easy access point, which is to the very far left, facing the sea, just before the rocks.
  20. Remember “Bin End” selections are available (reduced in price) from Wine List, but the Sommelier may also have a list for some very special bottles being the final ends of Bin End With the assistance from one’s Sommelier, we have savoured some excellent Bin End wines.
  21. Found a night view….
  22. From experience at the Fairmont being a Cunard offered Hotel Cunard makes contracted price deals with Hotels for “freedom of Hotel” aka Junk Rooms. This means your room is only booked 6/8 weeks prior to flight and the hotel will select the room. Rooms confirmed at check in and will probably be worst lowest floor, with no decent view (over the entrance and view of concrete and traffic). Any disputes, the Hotel will refer one back to Cunard, as Cunard made the booking. Cunard charge a Rack Rate per person, but the Hotel charges per room. We had a Fairmont Gold Room bay view (with many benefits) for a few pounds more than Cunard quoted for a “Standard Room” aka Junk. Remember, Cunard charge per person, for two pax the single rate is doubled to equate to a “Room Price” Also, a private car booked via Fairmont from Airport, then to Cruise, was only a little more than a multi-stop with diversions, Cunard 60 seater coach tour. Sign up for Fairmont Membership prior to booking direct, as there may be an upgrade offered on a first visit.. There are NO upgrades allowed, even if payment offered at check in, for Cunard Junk Rooms. Book early for Gold Rooms, because they are the best bang for the Buck. Check out the Fairmont website for the Gold Rooms benefits and the stunning views across the bay, but at night they are truly wonderful. Apologies for a long post, but everything had to be included. Assistance to find Gold Rooms https://www.fairmont.com/reservations/select-room/ Click on Signature Gold Suite Opens Then click on “other rooms” and the Harbour Gold Room will drop down
  23. One will answer the care of wines question. One has all special bottles collected from stateroom. The Sommelier then correctly stores. Wines are selected on sight of the following day’s menu and decanted (red). Never had a condition problem, as Sommeliers are “Masters of Wine”.
