  1. I’m sure that is all very interesting, but completely irrelevant to my point. My point was very simple. Firstly that the plus beverage package includes more than Starbucks and secondly that some people are already paying for those upgrades so the $$$ obviously compute for them. I am not interested in criticising other peoples motivations, so all that is irrelevant to me. I can’t just leave your last paragraph though. The upgraded beverage package is about quality, non quantity. You can already drink as much as you want with the standard package. You have had two stabs at what that package is about and been spectacularly wrong both times.
  2. The upgraded beverage package offers far more than Starbucks, and is really the key to whether this deal is worth it. People already upgrade that package, so this will likely be of interest to them. The number of excursions you take will also be a factor, as it could half the cost of the upgrade.
  3. That doesn't work either. It seems that restaurant bookings are done by cabin these days, so all the reservations still show up even when I log in as my wife. I just tried logging into her account and adding a restaurant that we already have booked and it didn't work. Adding one we don't already have worked.
  4. I really need to update that again. There is quite a lot of out of date info there.
  5. That is nonsense. The system never knows about latitudes perks at this point. Anyone can book meals without any packages or perks.
  6. There is currently an issue where you can only make one reservation for any restaurant. I’m guessing that you have a duplicated restaurant in your booking. You can either call to do the bookings or just take out one of the duplicates and do that one onboard.
  7. When we cruise with our son it is not unusual to use different ways of paying at one meal (we also have platinum, free at sea and often a purchased upgrade). They always make sure that they have got it right and often run through what we have used and have left. We’ve never had any problem.
  8. You get one set of coupons if one or two platinum or above are in a cabin. If there are more than two platinums in a room then you get additional coupons.
  9. Yes you can bring as much wine as you can carry on with you, but the $15 is charged when you board and applies regardless of where you drink it. On the positive side, if you do have the beverage package then the corkage isn't charged (although this is new and hasn't been tested yet).
  10. But remember to book the set price ones first (assuming you have the dining package).
  11. Just to try to avoid some confusion, the package that you get with free at sea is the premium package. The package that you can upgrade to and includes Starbucks is the Premium Plus.
  12. Yes, that is exactly what happened. New cabins were added where the kids club used to be. 10186 is one of them.
  13. We stayed in 10686 a few times before the refurb (and were booked in 10186 last year but it was cancelled). Keeping in mind that things may have changed during the refurb, it was by a long way our favourite room on the ship. For a balcony cabin, at no extra cost, you get a massive room. I'm not aware of any bigger non suite rooms on any NCL ships. The balcony was the full length of the cabin (again, pre refurb, things may have changed) and as noted above you are really close to the tiered seating at the aft which we really love. We always used to get breakfast out there. Onda it two floors up, so there is no impact from that being there. My one concern is whether you may get noise from Spice, but I think that you are far enough away for that to not be a major problem. I've attached some pictures. Hopefully they haven't made too many changes to the layout, and 10186 should be a mirror image.
  14. You may be correct. Im only going from what I’ve read here (I’ve never used the upgrade bidding myself).
  15. I thought that the charge stayed the same if you are upgraded, regardless of whether you have prepaid it.
  16. Good to see confirmation that they are telling people what's going on now.
  17. You could get a couple of years warning if you book far enough in advance.
  18. I would be surprised if the difference between someone paying the old or new rate based on prepaying or not affects the amount that the staff actually receive.
  19. That may be a short cruise, but it’s hard to find a better selection of port stops. 🙂
  20. At the moment it is likely that you will only be able to book each restaurant once online, so if you want to go to the same restaurant twice then you may been to either phone in or wait to book one of them.
  21. Well, it’s irrelevant now as it doesn’t look like I’ll be testing on the Monday anyway. 🙂
  22. You do not need to prepay the service charge in case there is a price increase. Whenever NCL increase them you can still get the old price as long as you prepay before the cruise, so you can wait until it is announced before deciding. Of course they may change the way they do it, but that has been consistent for years now.
  23. Yeah, I’m away and using my phone. I honestly didn’t see them first time I looked. 🙂
