  1. Free at sea has been around for years. There is no sign that it is going away. I wouldn't rush to book because of that.
  2. When reserving restaurants do the ones that have a cover charge first.
  3. Reservations have been offered (and sometimes required) for the main theatre shows on the newer ships (since Epic) for many years now (since the Epic was launched I believe). Since covid they haven't been necessary, or even offered on some ships I believe.
  4. The Asian restaurants have a very similar menu across the fleet. I haven’t been on whichever ship Chin Chin is on, but if you were to find a menu for Bamboo (Dawn), Jasmine Garden (Jade) or any of the other similar restaurants in the same location then that will very likely be the same as what you will find in Chin Chin. I’ve eaten many times in these places and really enjoy them. The service is quick, so it tends to be a quick meal.
  5. It’s Bamboo on the Dawn. I think Chin Chin is what it’s called on one of the Jewel ships, can’t recall which.
  6. Aah, ok, yes that is as expected. I thought that you were saying they were back to the no bar service thing. 🙂
  7. The Jade is doing various itineraries through the year. The cruises either side of ours were different.
  8. I can’t see how Amex could know that level of detail. As ziggyuk says, they rarely manage to pick those sort of things out regardless of what the T&Cs say. My guess is that they mean that it must be paid via the UK site/office. I think that person who writes the T&Cs also helps out with the NCL ones, as they are of similar quality. 🙂
  9. Yeah, but as we will be buying the package anyway (and it will cost just over £500) it’s easier to do that instead. Just checked and she has the offer. £200 off is very handy, especially as our upgrade to an aft penthouse cost almost exactly that amount. 🙂
  10. Thanks. I have been checking regularly as we have final payment to make next week. Excellent timing. Hopefully it will turn up on my wife’s supplementary as well so that we can get £100 off the premium plus package as well. I’ll check later.
  11. The question you were responding to was regarding the temporary situation we had back in April where there was no bar service on embarkation day until the evening after we had left Athens. Are you saying that these issues have returned?
  12. Basically your meal is covered in the a la carte restaurants although you are restricted to one entree. There are a small number of menu items with an upcharge mentioned on the menu. We very rarely have any charge when using the dining package, although as an example I did have crab cakes in Cagneys on this trip which is an upcharge item ($5 extra I think).
  13. I've never heard any different experiences regarding this. Speciality coffee is absolutely not included with the free at sea beverage package.
  14. NCL were offering two extra points a night a while back, so 4 points is possible, but not for new bookings. We got 28 points for our recent 7 night cruise (1 standard, 1 suite, 2 bonus).
  15. Latitudes points are individual. The number of points you earn depends on what offers were available at the time. For example, you used to get an extra point for booking 9+ month out. You get an extra point for a suite and another point if you book a latitudes offer, so its impossible to say how many you should have, other than that your wife would have significantly more than you. Your biggest problem is that NCL don't now go back more than 12 months when looking for past cruises missing from your history, so unless you have detail of latitudes numbers that were related to those cruises then you are likely out of luck.
  16. The Jade was at just under 50% capacity when we were onboard in April. It seemed very empty most of the time. I think that capacity has been fairly consistent.
  17. No, it is two meals each, so two nights dining.
  18. For 7 nights in a balcony it is two meals for the first two people on the booking. The $35.60 is the gratuity on the cost of those two meals (20% of $89 each).
  19. This is one of the discussions:
  20. This has been discussed multiple times on here, mainly where people have misread the letter.
  21. Just book for two. That is what most people in an odd numbered group have to do.
  22. There is an issue at the moment where it won’t let you book a restaurant more than once in a cruise.
