  1. It doesn't show up in your account (there have been loads of "where's my voucher" posts recently). NCL staff can see the voucher, and I assume that a travel agent can access it somehow. It is 10% off the price of a cruise, so isn't a monetary amount or something that can be used as OBC. It makes the new cruise you book cost 10% less (approximately, as it doesn't come of some bits like taxes etc). I had a couple of them and my PCC just applied them to new cruises.
  2. No, we were all booked, we just requested sitting together. My point was that they don't just seat people as they turn up, but have the seating planned in advance, based on the bookings.
  3. When we were on the Jade recently we discovered that we had booked Teppanyaki for the same time as some friends onboard, so decided to go together. When we arrived, they seated us on different tables, as they has pre-allocated the seating. This suggests that they don't just fill them up as they go.
  4. It doesn’t even have to resemble you. They will take another picture at the port if they aren’t happy with it. Ours were all ok, but she said she would take another one anyway. Next time I’m not going to spend any time over it and just take a quick picture.
  5. A few weeks ago on the Jade they were providing tests on the final day. I didn’t need one, so don’t know the detail, but they had times for different groups listed in the dailies and also a separate walk in area for those who hadn’t registered. I was in a non Haven suite and we had a letter saying that we could get tests done in the Haven.
  6. Yes, that changed a little while ago, I remember some discussion on here at the time as there was debate as to whether the OBC for the purchase still gets allocated to the payment (it does - for now)
  7. I assume that this was after the transatlantic? That would explain the queue for immigration. When the Epic is doing the standard round trip there is no immigration on disembarkation, so no queues there (unless something significant has changed).
  8. Yes, it is a point of confusion. I assume that they want people to spend it, which is why they word it the way they do. I expect that one day they will stop applying it to the purchase, but at the moment it is still done that way.
  9. That is the cost of the gratuities on the beverage package as part of the free at sea offer. Effectively the beverage package costs $20 a day per person (if you ignore any extra cost for getting it like the premium over a sail away room, but that's a different discussion).
  10. You aren't committing the $2,000 as the $1,000 comes straight off it. You are paying $1,000 out and get $2,000 of vouchers. Everything else is just marketing talk.
  11. Where did the OBC come from? If it is from a travel agent then it depends on whether it is refundable or non refundable. Only the TA will be able to tell you that.
  12. You can buy a maximum of 8 vouchers, which have a value of $2,000. You then get $125 per voucher OBC back, which totals $1,000. That makes the total cost $1,000 for $2,000 value.
  13. Only if you bought anything that was chargeable, like Starbucks coffee etc. you would then get 20% added to that cost. Assuming you didn’t get anything chargeable then there will be no charge. 🙂
  14. You mentioned a 20% gratuity at breakfast. What was that on? I’m a bit confused what you incurred a cost on. Regarding cruisenext, it’s all the same thing anyway. You got $2,000 value for $1,000. The other version is $2,000 value for $2,000 with OBC of $1,000 which can be applied against the original purchase. It’s the same thing but they present it different ways, I assume so that they can offer it as something different.
  15. Well, we are all different. I like the idea of Spinnaker, but in my opinion it doesn’t work on the Jewel class ships because of all the bloody game shows and bingo etc that are going on through the day. I’d love to just settle down there during the day by a window and relax. In reality we rarely go there. Galaxy of the Stars on the Spirit seems to work better for this, for some reason. In my opinion, the atrium is a far better place for those activities. The last few ships have an observation lounge at the front. I’ve not been on one yet, but I get the impression that they aren’t used for shows etc, so sound much nicer to me than Spinnaker.
  16. If I did fancy more than one of a course then I would just go ahead and order them, regardless of whether the servers say. It is almost certain that they won’t actually charge you.
  17. We always get given the latitudes wine list with our menus. I don’t think I’ve ever needed to ask. Maybe I just look like I need a drink. 🙂
  18. I’m not actually bothered about the answer, by the way. We haven’t got anything booked on the Getaway, and now our son is older it isn’t as important anyway (although we did used to enjoy a quick game in the morning before it got busy). Just trying to help locate the correct area.
  19. The area in the background on my picture was the basketball court. I’d be very surprised if they moved it, as it would have been a major construction project, and the balls would keep on hitting the ropes course. Plus the pillars from the ropes course would get in the way. 🙂
  20. It was above American Diner. Go up the stairs to where they put the harnesses on people for the ropes course and turn left. It was on the space where it now says “Ropes Course” on the deck plan. If you are standing on the deck directly below the plank then you would be where the mini golf is/was.
  21. Mini golf was directly under the ropes course on the starboard side. It is easy to miss unless you go up there.
  22. Unless you are considering ordering multiple apps or desserts, or an expensive entree then I wouldn’t worry too much. I tend to try to get rid of the latitudes meals at the first opportunity, mainly so that I can then not have to worry about remembering to take the voucher (and for the bottle of wine). For what we order it really doesn’t make much difference which way round we use them. As inside cabin says, it can be quite random what they bother charging anyway, so even if you do work out the best way to use them then you may not be charged what you expected anyway. Yes, you can take the unfinished wine with you. In fact, what we and many others do is ask them not to open it, so we can have it back at the cabin so we can pour ourselves a glass when we need it. I’ve never had any problem with that. Based on my experience in the Jade recently, what I wrote in March is still true. We weren’t charged any extra in Cagneys for ordering entrees over the limit on the latitudes meal.
  23. I think the main thing on the Jade lately has been just one theatre show each night.
  24. Are there any bars or restaurants closed on any ships other than POA? I thought they were just on that ship, due to staffing, but I could be wrong.
