  1. Shhh, now a rush on those coveted spots! 🤣 Some folks like to see and be seen. My husband admits he enjoys the pool "show". I do too, for that matter, but perfectly happy to find one of your 'out of the way' locations rather than stress about finding a pool chair.
  2. Yes, please see my post #186 above. And unfortunately, the phenomenon raises its ugly head on CC all too frequently.
  3. We're hoping for same. We're on Vista end of next month. Always grateful to escape PN winters and for cruising in general.
  4. I posted a similar sentiment/observation on another thread. We became O regulars 12 years ago, having migrated from Princess and Celebrity. But even back then, I don't remember such rude/antisocial behavior on the larger ships; and on O, it was almost unheard of. I do believe that the current state of affairs has to be directly related and attributable to the recent influx of refugees from other, larger ships. (Can only imagine what it's like on P and C now! 😲) Coinicidence? I don't think so. But then again, sadly, the world is a very different place now than it was then, in terms of common courtesy and just being kind to your fellow humans. Any setting with a gathering of said humans is nothing more than a microcosm of the world.
  5. Agreed, but unfortunately, O shows no signs of willingness to do that. So...since husband and I are approaching a Carib sailing on Vista next month, we'll see for ourselves. Interesting that, in our past O warm weather cruises, it's never really been a problem. Seems that only since there've been so many Celebrity refugees (with some from other lines) has it become the problem it apparently is now. Just sayin. 🤔
  6. Pay people a decent living wage, including on cruise ships, and it becomes more of a moot issue. Will there always be those who like to tip for exceptional service? Sure, and let them have at it. I don't disagree that, most often, it feels obligatory; and it shouldn't. But if I've received good or exceptional service, then obligatory or not, I'm going to tip accordingly. Service industries deserve to be and should be duly compensated...by the respective employer!
  7. While I've not used any of the following guides yet, I've booked with all of them for 11/24. They are all highly rated and recommended... Dubrovnik - toursbylocals.com/Marijana S. Valletta - maltatours.com/Chris - he and his wife, Joan, maltatourguide.com, operate separately. She's very popular (and well known to others on CC). She was fully booked for our date, so I booked with Chris. Hope this helps.
  8. Of course, would be added expense which O doesn't want to incur at this particular time, but what about adding those individual, moveable canopies to the chaise lounges that would allow one to sit in full or partial sun? Personally, I prefer the deck above the pool, and love the sun, but having that option would be great! And maybe help to solve the problem??
  9. Marina, Riviera, Vista - all same size. Marina and Riviera have Jacques. Vista and R ships do not.
  10. You're right. It's not. Time to get over it.
  11. Just wish O had named it something else...so that people would get it right. Ember...no s.
  12. But if your invoice stated the 3 day policy, you should have been given that option. While it's true that answers can vary among O reps, I think in this case I'd also start looking for a new agent.
  13. Up to 3 days before or after without deviation. Transfers only on day of departure/arrival.
  14. As far as I'm concerned, mat/floor pilates is completely different from a reformer, and yes, for my 75 year old body, the reformer is much more comfortable. Easier for stretching, and many more exercises than on the floor. But again, I don't expect to see a reformer onboard any O ship any time in the near future. Unfortunately.
  15. You're much more willing than I to give that "gentleman" the benefit of the doubt.
  16. I said it was disappointing, but in no way, does it affect my cruise 'one little bit'. I'd also add dressing like a slob in a nice dinner venue (whether on land or at sea) shows a complete lack of awareness and respect... for self, for others, and for the venue. And I'm not into policing anybody's behaviors but my own. Common sense should dictate there's a time and place for everything...but of course, in today's world, the practice of common sense is a lost art.
  17. Disappointing, to say the least. And this is in Europe. I can only imagine what we'll see next year in the Caribbean. 🙄
  18. Where? Not seeing it on the web site.
