  1. Well said.. perfect profile of wannabees
  2. No support here for that idea..first come first served.. Remove chair hog belongings after the allowed time. I am opposed to the present culture of.. " if I pay I can skip the line, have something better or upgraded on cruises.. " and in general. Cruising was previously a fairly all inclusive vacation!
  3. Heads up about Barcelona Airport.. do not keep your small bag in top of a luggage cart wheelie. Woman on airport check in line next to.ours had hers bag with tix and passport stolen. When she discovered it was gone moments later, she screamed Authorities sealed the area but thief got away. The victim coud not fly home without her passport..so close..very frustrating Many thefts there in Restaurants, on the streets, in markets. BCN.."City of Thieves" but seems it can happen anywhere!
  4. Exactly.. it is fine as is..great soups salads, sandwich choices...fresh bread and yummy desserts..Just another cash grab! Casual area with limited seating in and outside. We would not pay extra! there's already an upcharge take away lunch option at the Bistro Cafe..great sammies on great bread! maybe they can add the lobster rolls there
  5. Sounds more low end..more like Carnival than Celebrity. See you onboard X!
  6. Not sure where we stand on our slow crawl to Z. I think it will be useful on the transatlantics where there may get more ZENITHS??? On our one time only Retreat cruise on BEYOND , lounge was a ghost town...other than sailaway day Wonder if they will be able to leave with bottles of water or soda, esp those without bev packages?
  7. We felt like that with Royal C when Diamond level guests (Elite on X) were no longer given access to the lovely well stocked lounge which became "suite guests only". It was more disappointing when the Celebrity Elite lounge (used am and pre- dinner, mostly in Michaels) was summarily taken away for use by suite guests only. The new Cap Club lite breakfast.,usually in Tuscan was fine but the Cap Cocktail Party upstairs in the Nightclub was not the same cozy get together it had been. It was open to all levels of Cap Club Members, many coming just for the free drinks. I think now it is available at most bars so hardly a cozy gathering at all anymore. The Retreat area is now that same type of venue. With the shifting focus to suites, and other marketing programs, accumulating loyalty points to achieve higher Cap Club levels is no longer a great incentive or benefit. We appreciate our E + perks but all the focus is now on suites...sadly, the SS guests are now losing some of their perks. Who knows what's next.? Seems fickle!
  8. Don't feel bad... I see no intention to offend on your part. Most of what we see on US TV news of people with facial tattoos, are very scary looking criminals who we would not care to sail with.. Have not seen any Pacific neighbors on cruises. ( To some tattoos conjure up sad reminders of the numbers that were branded on prisoners in concentration camps during the holocaust. To some a little butterfly denotes a breast cancer survivor) ****** As to the main topic we have decided we would not book Virgin or MSC 2 although some X cruisers have enjoyed them. We are looking at Cunard and Oceania.
  9. There is now a sep thread...where the debate will unfold
  10. Very fancy, fine dining, upscale, doting service, but a long meal..Murano! Less fancy...good food and variety, Italian steakouse quality..shorter duration meal, family oriented celebration or a nice dinner with wine....Tuscan! Check out the menus..read reviews...and see what fits your style
  11. As I posted elsewhere...GREED, Hope this nice little cafe is not morphed into an extra cost venue.. And after that the Aquaspa cafe.....
  12. MDR, buffet, burger place and ,??? glad we booked Silhouette..
  13. I stand corrected. My husb says its all been on screen for awhile. Guess it was wishful thinking on my part...I like paper and print outs
  14. nice review... maybe another X ship would be better....or try AQ Class?
  15. you can get most anything on the web.. fake IDs, driving licenses, birth certifs, etc..but a real passport would be of great value.
  16. very common, they often go for money/ wallets .. esp at resorts! We keep stuff on our person under clothing in secure packs..and for my money..the bank of bra!
  17. we have seen children in BLU.... few and far between. usually with one adult ( unless 2 AQ rms were booked). well behaved, well dressed.. if children are in a non AQ suite they can be in BLU subject to availability, no limits.
  18. 12 would be smartest flight time..no stress..time to eat breakfast..you will be early at airport.. Many others have priority... Suites, AQ (? ), Walking off can involve long lines..which starts way before the time given.. So many take this option it may not be worth the hassle of handling your own bags. suggest you get a porter...may make getting a cab easier. Airport is a ways..depends on traffic.
  19. With the cruise so far out, why not focus on all the positives..dining and menus may change and quality can vary for each ship and sailing. Maybe splurge by booking 2 tables at a Specialty venue all can enjoy..Once u board ask maitre d if you can be seated adjacently. Not sure what specialty is on Solstice but Lawn Club Grill, Petit Chef or Tuscan might be fun!
  20. We check the account every morning.. Easier to correct as soon as it happens. The last day charges seem to happen quite a bit, when it's not easy to call or waIt on line.. The screen shot is a great idea. Do they still slip the final bill under the door?
  21. just remembered alot of pr about it at some point..but now their ads have changed..It's adults only so nothing wrong.
  22. well. you guys are not most cruisers, esp now you are on Cunard in the Grills! my point was that person was really being elitist without cause!
  23. Is this the cruise line with the tatoo parlor?
