  1. thanks.. I am sure we will enjoy BLU but think venturing out this trip will be interesting too. This is a big birthday! cruise for me. My last big one was on EDGE. .then allmost brand new ship !
  2. Hoping Ascent will be better staffed and supplied than older ships . But if the downgrades are fleetwide, it will all be mediocre!
  3. these look better.. will remember the veggie tip!
  4. Thanks for posting...did not entice me very much.. but you seemed to be happy..that's what counts. Some pics are upside down...but even so, there were many I could not figure out. The bacon, omelet, fruit, cheeses and shrimp cocktail looked okay. Not sure why so many dishes are literally swimming in broth or sauce..esp shrimp in the green stuff. hope we can get plain un sauced food in BLU
  5. hmm, after reading through this thread although we will be assigned to BLU on ASCENT, kind of glad we booked 3 nights for dinner at Specialty venues (EDEN, FINE CUT and ROOFTOP GRILL) May also try the Buffet if we have a full day excursion with large lunch. I think variety is a good idea...and although we've been on E Class previously, EDEN and FINE CUT will ve new for us. BLU for a quiet breakfast is def a plus!
  6. we agree.. love the atmosphere of the smaller 2.. Tuscan great decor and ital music..Cyprus was also very pleasant!
  7. Really squeezing out all they can! I hear this was the genius of new Pres? Stay on the ship for your own perfect day!
  8. Thanks for posting...Nothing I would eat. Some odd choices..spices used to enhance lower cuts? Maybe I'd try plain salmon with Caulifllower cheese (?) and buttered potatoes . soups/ salads/ apps? Plainer the better..that's why we prefer BLU! hope you post after dinner with your thoughts
  9. Good luck on the next phase of your amazing adventure.Hoping for some nice posts..never been there! Is the Cunard crossing up next? We fly south to Fl tom..nothing exciting...Have to check on our place. and deal with a pesty Armadillo .May be a rainy week there..finally!
  10. sort of like the loyal X cruisers who folks say do not spend any money on extras! we live in diff worlds. prefer Modern Luxury. but whatever works!
  11. We enjoyed Coco Cay when it was in a very natural state, no rides. Just awesome beaches, rustic outdoor bbq lunch, and snorkeling ..We had our first snorkel experience there. They had some nice things to explore underwater and good instructors. They had series of shops off from the main area with very aggressive and not very polite shopkeepers. But after one visit we just stayed away! Not sure we would recognize it now! Labadee was always a nice day at the beach, The on the water cabanas with amenities were very nice, and they had some fun things for folks to enjoy.. Coaster, Zipline, hiking, .and nice shopping, clean bathrooms. But we would not see a need to return after quite a few visits, esp after some security incidents that were publicized (stolen belongings..phones wallets). We are looking forward to the possible "Celebrity Island" if it ever materializes..Hopefully it would be very natural and relaxing, with calm beaches, nice restaurants and spa services! That would be a " perfect day!"
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a great day... I am sure you will do it in style!
  13. sign of the times.. we have had 3 sep accts compromised this yr.. County records, health and life ins. . We were given free credit monitoring for each event. Scary!
  14. agree about S Class..After we cruise on Ascent ..we are heading back to S Class for a .short cruise on Silhouette.
  15. A diff opinion on BLU. we are fans! We ate in BLU on the BEYOND to get a break from Luminae.( the menu and that facility .not to our liking..) BLU was excellent from beginning to end. Nice breads and spreads, .large firm shrimp cocktail with tangy sauce, great soup, a well prepared meal with tip top food and wine service. We dine early so no noise issues. Have been in BLU on EDGE pre Covid.. good food and service but poor location, no view. The thermal suites on EDGE were very nice but we prefer the layout and various "rooms" on S Class ships. Loungers are not in a sunny room as they were on EDGE We have always enjoyed AQ Class since it started, including BLU compared to the din abd crowds of the main MDR .( We have enjoyed an SV with 4 mdrs also.) We are .booked again for AQ Class on ASCENT.. Glad there are choices..even with cutbacks!
  16. okay, I am MANY YRS OLD! I went with my parents...wearing the rain slicker and all.. it was very cool! Falls lit at nite were brilliant! So far do you have any favs for this cruise?
