  1. still enjoying the photos and review The red roofs and step pics are great! steps and uneven pavement are difficult even for those who are physically fit ...have to wear good shoes and not hurry....
  2. i get your point, but we are not paying thousands of dollars to eat dinner in a self serve cafeteria where tables are washed with dirty dishrags! (the wet dog smell) Our next cruise is to celebrate a big b day. We are going to a few specialty dining rms. and will dress accordingly. Hoping for the best!
  3. $1 for extra veggies WOW! .Never heard of that. Did they add a gratuity as well. I like to order dbl veggies and no carbs..usually has been no issue in BLU. Hope they don't begrudge me a nice salad on Ascent! I would seek out food and Bev Director..to confirm the extra dollar chg is legit..just too petty! Wondering if dining staff as a group get a bonus for upcharges they bill out! Btw...just visually, not all the food photos above showed many veggies. Not that impressive overall!
  4. we have not been on Summit in yrs but this is not what we hope to see on any ship..would be bad at the buffet but not in any dining rm... no respect from the offenders and no backbone for mgmnt!
  5. can't it be replaced. have u asked at guest rel? that is a big issue..we usually keep our phones, wallets and cash in the safe..very concerning! did they offer u ability to leave docs etc in the ship's safe or pursers, Hope the rest of thd ship is in good order! enjoy the cruise...hope safe issue is resolved!
  6. HOORAY! Hope things go smoothly from this point on! Wonderful news!
  7. Menus same pretty much, but 2 are larger with more long tables, where twosomes are seated in rows with others.. Decor and atmosphere differ. We prefer Tuscan and Cyprus..the two smaller venues but suggest trying all of the 4 at least once.. they each have a unique charm. We liked it when we could make res, not sure if that is possible now.
  8. we agree. Concierge Class is a good value choice right now! We are headed in that direction on Silhouette for Dec 2024
  9. you would have 2 book 2 AQ Class Cabins. 4 in one not allowed idea is to keep AQ numbers low due to dining rm size.. only way to Access thermal suite is to be booked in AQ Class or buy a pass to the thermal suite. not sure about AQ class SUITE Occupancy??
  10. AQ class has access to Persian Gardens..which are in an interior space..not that great but ok for a visit or 2. Maybe an exercise mat in the cabin.. maybe daily water..probably no afternoon..canapes ?
  11. used to enjoy this in mdr..no upcharge!
  12. we actually got caught with a local sales tax in a Calif port when we overnighted there & purchased a specialty dinner for that night onboard. ..No one warned us.. got a small credit back as good will! traps and pitfalls!
  13. seems like a short stop..city might be lovely all lit up..Maybe u can book an X excursion .. traffic can back up there..I would not stray. Hopefully, ship will have worked out luggage schedule, but you'd have to be packed up during the day except for carryon/ overnight bag.. What tike is the disembark,?
  14. we differ.. enjoyed BLU on Beyond..Luminae was a struggle..other than the everyday Salmon. Bread was doled out and sometimes not " ready". The Sky Suite was a nice size..but we found the bath/ shower combo awkward. Did not use indoor RETREAT very much and found outdoor area crowded...but was very nice on port day. Our Butler was OVERLY PRESENT! We are going back to AQ Class on Ascent..We will manage with the IV cabin and hopefully enjoy BLU as always, and the Thermal suite . Diff strokes for diff folks..and AQ costs less ...Only thing we will def miss is the early boarding and disembark perks for suites but not worth a huge fare for that.
  15. oh joy..larger size ships in St Croix port. The dock area is fairly seedy and we thought this was a much over - rated port. We had a long, not very scenic bus ride to our snorkel excursion ...ugh!
  16. perfect shots of the " modern luxury " spartan dorm room! Very cold decor. The Tv seems small and far away from the bed
  17. great photo..thanks for that! It shows various spots to sit and enjoy... nice lounges in the far area in the photo. I like it in the morning when hardly no one is out there...nice views.. a bit of a breeze and they will make a mimosa..Perfect access from the Solarium when it is on that level.
  18. Doing the right thing would have much better PR value than "after seniors were ripped off by thieves Cebritity shows no compassion!"
  19. oops..our booking is Dec 2025..not 2015..sorry . that live from review had a diff itin but you may see some pics and tips about the ship..If I find it, I'll post the link!
  20. travel ins companies are in business to sell policies, and some work hard to deny claims. we once cancelled two days before a cruise for my emergency gall bladder surgery..no issues..they just paid. years later, with another company, we had to cancel right after final payment when dtr recd a serious diagosis needing surgery asap. They tried to say it was a "pre existing" condition.. yes..cancer always is until it is discovered. We fought, got supervisors involved and they relented.( she is doing fine so far!) Even so, still worth getting it for most issues that might come up.
  21. Congrats on your 15th Wedding Anniv. We have enjoyed Silho in the past when she was fairly new. We booked her again for 2015..Concierge Class after following a recent " live from" review on CC.. Sounds lIke you are all set for extra dining, nice excursions and a bacony. E N J O Y.. Looking forward to your posts
  22. we enjoy it on days we are not eating a big bkfst or after bkfast for an extra coffee or mimosa! It is a nice perk..
  23. hope folks snap some pics..no faces so we can see what this looks like. we always played a silly game when we cruised on Royal C. at our 1st lunch meal in the buffet..how many sleeveless tees do u see? Back then I guess it was snobby of us but seems that culture has now spread onto X and into dining rms...seats are very close to one another in BLU. Do jot want to smell anyines perfune or body odor!
  24. thank you for the update. .very disappointing outcome so far, as to ins not covering. maybe parents should scrap this trip and ask for a fcc ...then plan a new dream cruise..the bad memories will be hard to overcome unless they get a reak suite deal! Thieves are everywhere..travelers are easy targets. Many yrs ago in the mid 80s, we went to a land based hotel in Antigua with our young dtr..She carried her 2 fav Cabbage Patch Dolls with her..The hotel clerk insisted the dolls be kept in the hotel safe b/c thieves would do anything they could to get at them...Nice!
