  1. safe travels.. we made our flights from Fl to NY just before the rain storm last night.. keeping an eye on the Huricane in Windwards..with prayers!
  2. when I saw the question..first reaction was do not go there.. too much has changed to itemize. Major Plus is a new Class of Ship..E Class Still a nice experience, but the "Royalization" of X is almost complete..esp with the changes to Crossover Perks between the 2 lines ( better deal for Royals but many do not agree over the drinks) We still choose X diff now!
  3. looking good! Hope you enjoyed your triple play adventure! Safe travels home! As to the outdoor restaurant at the beach club.... ".......... The later in the day it gets, the open air restaurant gets hotter, the flies get worse and it gets more crowded....'" We will pass on the flies.. prefer AC for dining. The All inclusive Sandals that we like has an island eatery...very natural setting, A/C and NO FLIES! And an awesome outdoor spa! No kiddies!
  4. like the original Michael's Club..my husb would love that!
  5. I now have my earplugs.. you can still hear but subdues the noise! There are a few threads about these..Jim Lain had alot of info. I just got basic ones online.
  6. we paid less.. have to look for sales we had the Classic drink package.. ok for basic wine
  7. Hoping not on my Silhouette cruise. I know it's just fun but not our style!
  8. The designer bags and material rewards are very nice, but the Firm Partnership is awesome..esp at a young age. CONGRATS!
  9. doesnt really work that way..esp for such a minor mismatch that can be fixed. .
  10. we can get lap pools and pickle ball at home...do not need to take it with us when we cruise The solarium pool was designed for a bit higher temp..for a nice relaxing float or just a dunk.. Can easily do a few laps in the ourdoor pools on E class if you get there early! On Ascent, almost every space inside and outdoor was taken over for sports..Not too many areas for reading or watching the sea! Care of the mind and spirit are critical..would love to see a nice reading lounge
  11. love the dress..I did spot it hanging in your closet in your stateroom pics. and wondered if or when we'd get to see it ! Versace Bag..go for it! If you work hard....enjoy the rewards! I have a similar necklace from EDGE..one of my favs too! Hope the night with your fellow cruisers is Classy not Trashy!
  12. Enjoy her birthday in Murano! We don't schedule around chic nights...just enjoy a fabulous dinner! It might even be less crowded on a chic night.
  13. no app for us..does not work on our old Androids & we keep our phones in the safe.. no issues getting info elsewhere! but you can app if you want
  14. would love to see some photos of the various areas on the ship
  15. A liitle concerned about our 4 night cruise on Silhouette next Dec. ( pre holiday) No cococay! We booked it based on a very positive cruise critic live review by a known poster.. .We took the same Prime Concierge Cabin as the poster. We will have a real balcony cabin and be eligible for the luncheon.. We reserved 3 out of 4 nights in Specialty Dining...and with any luck will not face a booze cruise crowd! Fun yes, sloshed to the gills no!
  16. The CS looks like it would be a nice upgrade for us from AQ class if we decide to try Reflection, and could get a good rate.... We just booked an 8 night Carib cruise on ECLIPSE in AQ Class for Jan 2026... We are hopeful the planned updates are done..just to refresh the ship! Some of the oldies are now goodies!
  17. ASCENT in Jan was very much a party ship..way past the usual end time! The CD was a party guy and the crowd responded. Also had alot of sports and games during the day in usually quiet spaces.. Guess it all depends!
  18. Charla...great photos..you always manage to find the best! Can't wait for a few more great outfits! A few times when berthed near Carnival ships ..in Aruba and Bonaire, the boom boom sound from the top decks ruined our pool deck and balcony! Everyone clapped when they sailed away! In the Aruba port, the Carnival crowd was dressed in scanty beach wear, acted rowdy and rude..like folks you might meet in the DWI ( DUI) line up..before they crashed! No respect for the port or shop keepers. We peeked in a few stores but returned to the ship..Safer there! Now we check port listings to avoid Carnival and big behemouths in port with us.. Just want happy fun!
  19. kids can enjoy the caves, aquarium , mini golf & water stuff near the dock.. I believe the X ship doing Bermuda is newer than Summit.. Any cruises in summer will attract families!
  20. you have already covered alot of ground.. 1st day. smart to do an early tour before boarding.. we usually sit around til it's time to go to the port.. very nice teen agenda!
  21. Where we are from, hats/ caps are not worn by men indoors...even kids.. wear them backwards or not but removed indoors. Issue is always where to put them.. In Fla many men wear shorts out to dinner...but not at fancy restaurants..where pants are the rule.. Celeb dress code is loose enough that most everyone can comply!
  22. OP stick with Royal or go to Carnival or Virgin. Best bet on X would be ASCENT .. E Class ship..or try the new one!
  23. Charla.. we feel your pain We experienced Reflection when it was brand new....with the Miami DJs and all sorts of loud music blasting 24/7 everywhere . Upon boarding we were greeted by a " musician" with a monkey duo. ( not the lady with the harp!) There were folks who "chair hogged" the seats at the SUNSET bar til they could not sit up. It was very loud, shouty and crowded. We avoided it best we could but X was promoting it " in your face'. Back then, we wrote it off as a Party Ship and have avoided it. Seems it had evolved to " normal" cruise fun more recently...and we were thinking about booking... NOT ANYMORE. Booze cruises are not our style..sounds like X has gone Carnivore! Do your best!
  24. public schools in the NY area end mid to late June..colleges are earlier. you can check NJ Pa Md...
