  1. Comfort check-in is NOT mandatory. That’s why they try to sell it with the term “comfort check-in”.
  2. The only issue is timing. Folks are heartless if your laundry finishes and you don’t immediately put it in the drier. They’ll take you wet clothes out and place them on the counter. so do your laundry at the most inconvenient time you can tolerate - think 3AM. 😴🥱
  3. And after paying $10-20k for a cruise, I’m not sure $38 for a medical test administered onboard should be that big an issue.
  4. To get it out, do you need to undertake navel maneuvers??? 😎
  5. If you have an orange navel, you need to make an appointment!! 😳
  6. Only if they’re “nice”… That’s clearly stated in the rules.
  7. Viking offered an Acropolis/ Acropolis museum on day 2. It ended at the Plaka district, so you could just break away then and make your own way back to the hotel.
  8. Trade Routes of the Middle Ages - Barcelona to Bergen with post- to Oslo - was wonderful. Lots of countries and ports, so there was something for everyone.
  9. Hard to imagine that 600 people want to know what Sasha123 means. Must be a slow news day! 😎
  10. Last month, our D and SIL were above Torshavn on the Orion. she went to guest services at 10:30 PM the first night and told them the noise was unbearable. They moved them to an aft-facing balcony the next day. The next day they were anxious to have them vacate the room so they could give it to the local pilot coming onboard.
  11. Where they now proudly play the Silly Walks video nightly!!👍😁
  12. There are only 10 cabins on the 8001 corridor, and absolutely no advantage for anyone else to use that corridor, so the use of the door is very infrequent.
  13. Definitely visit 2be! 🍺 Hundreds of beers, nice canal-side setting, although it can get very crowded.
  14. The bus parking area is a 15-20 minute walk to the center. It’s flat but could be an issue for the mobility impaired. Viking walking tour did include a lot of walking, so I think the rating reflects distance rather than difficulty.
  15. Secret door is right next to your room. Convenient access to EL, but you have to climb up or down the stairs to get to the bar level, a problem for me when carrying drinks. We were in 8003 with no sound issues.
  16. Vancouver does have a GE line that helps speed you through immigration. Last month the discussion with the agent went like this - “Anything to declare?”, “No”, “Welcome home”. And the GE terminals no longer require any input other than a picture. Pretty simple!
  17. 45 minutes to the airport, 10-15 minutes in the bus holding line (if you take the Viking bus). The rest is a crap shoot - we got through quickly.
  18. I guess it depends on whether you want acceptable or interesting wines at dinner. Having a choice is almost always a better option.
  19. Earlier this month on Orion, Explorer’s Lounge had both Buffalo Trace and Bulleit, so someone realized how pitiful the listed bourbons were. 👍🥃
  20. You mean the “let’s all pretend we’re having a good time” song?? 😎
  21. Guess I haven’t been able to stay up long enough to enjoy in the past!! Thanks for the clarification. Pea soup at 10PM??? 😖
  22. 10PM to midnight on our recent cruise. It didn’t get much play and it didn’t look very appetizing. Should be a short experiment.
  23. Same experience on the Orion. in the past, they would just lift up my wife and pass her to the tender crew!
  24. This seems to be a classic situation to bring up the What Viking Is Not list. https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/why-viking/viking-difference/viking-difference-wvin.html These have sold us on Viking.
