  1. Very much enjoying and following your reports! we got off the Regal a a few weeks ago and LOVED every minute of the cruise.we too took the national express bus, back to London, and were very satisfied with the cost and service.... the staff on board the Regal are incredible...after 22 days on the ship we felt like we were leaving family behind! Thank you safe travels!
  2. we got off the Regal in Southampton a couple weeks ago. we did early walk off at 0700. There were about 50 people waiting in line in front of us. We were off the ship AND in a taxi by 0710...very easy and efficient! we had a 0900 national express bus to London scheduled, they were kind enough to let us jump on the 0800 bus... have a safe cruise!
  3. we very much enjoyed your posts and GREAT attitude! By chance is your. TA on the Sky in March 2024? we have that booked...thanks again!
  4. Steelers0854, we disembarked Monday just as you were joining the Regal. Very much enjoying your report! After the transatlantic crossing, and 8 days around the UK, we REALLY didn't want to leave the Regal....So I am reliving the incredible cruise through your words and pictures. To us, the outstanding crew members really made a wonderful cruise pure perfection! Not for nuthin, but after significant study I found the almond croissants in the IC on the Regal to be almost as good as the one I enjoyed in a Paris boulangerie earlier this week! Thanks again for taking the time to share your story and Safe Travels!
  5. Nicole and Pete...very fair question! 15 years ago on a cruise ship disembarkation in the Caribbean ... I watched a guy whose 4 pack cardboard box of liquor broke during the process.of leaving the ship.... After his wife said "oh crap"..."what do we do now????" ...this well prepared husband and savvy traveller ...pulled out a roll of silver duct tape and safely secured the cargo......it was a moment that changed my travel priorities..... in the years following... my now ever ready roll of duct tape has secured a loose window in a black taxi in London so as to not delay on our way to Heathrowe airport....Last year it repaired a handle on a piece of samsonite luggage at Charles Degaulle airport on PARIS....AND, just last week defeated a really annoying light sensor in our cabin on the regal princess in Ireland... as I have over the years developed and I did change from traditional silver duct tape to a roll of speciality "university of Florida gators " duct tape... In full disclosure...and a real follower and fan of LA cruiser 88's postings ..... black electrical tape recently has peaked my interest!
  6. just off a 22 day cruise....there are a lot of great suggestions above....BUT !.... I am surprised after 19 replies .....that no one suggested duct tape! dont leave home without a small roll! have a great cruise!
  7. When you arrive at the port in Southampton, if you see guy being dragged off the ship against his will, that will be me. We boarded at port everglades on April 16h. and disembark Monday. You are in for absolutely wonderful experience.. Th crew is outstanding. the food good to excellent, and the ship is in great polished condition. No doubt this experience rates in the top 3 of our 30 cruises... A few of the complaints I have overheard from fellow passengers are minor in nature to simply ridiculous, and not worth mentioning. Hope you have aa safe and memorable cruise!
  8. we are currently on the Regal for 22 days. First 15 was a transatlantic and now week around the UK.. we have the package deal on the thermal spa (first time) and LOVE it. We have found it to be very clean and well stocked. and never overcrowded. Very attentive and friendly staff. Since this is a B2B cruise I could have cancelled the thermal spa for the 2nd portion of the cruise if we didn't enjoy it .II is a wonderful experience each and every day! We have no need for a lock for the locker and just put the medallion in the pocket of the very comfortable supplied robes. .
  9. Greetings once again from the regal princess. our TA is almost over and we arrive in Southampton on Sunday.... we very much look forward to your additional information and round up! Thanks in part to your incredible writings and pictures....(and after a few glasses of wine!!) while on board last evening, we just booked the WC 2025 on the island princess. our son will not be not appreciate the negative impact on his inheritance, but such is life.... Have a safe journey home......
  10. Thanks very much! 3rd cruise on the regal since the shutdown,,,the ship and the crew , as always, are incredible! safe journey to England!
  11. we boarded the regal princess Saturday for a transatlantic crossing....for us it was VERY quick and seamless. at the port at 1030....on board at 1100...typical great princess staff. tons of people departing and boarding early which is to be expected. Many of them with a dazed /confused looks on their faces...not sure how they even got TO the port! having said that, there surely will be those passengers who will complain about winning a Cadillac but really wanted a Mercedes!
  12. we-like-to cruise, tomorrow we drive over to Port Everglades to board the regal princess on the transatlantic to Southampton. ( as you did, we will drop the rental off near the port). I wanted to take one more opportunity to thank you again for taking us along on your incredible journey. Perhaps the most well written and informative "live from" I have ever found. Safe journey home! PS: FLL last thursday got 24 inches of rain in less than 24 hours.....you can imagine what that did to folks flying in to FLL for their weekend cruises!
  13. my wife and I board the regal princess this weekend for the transatlantic crossing...I found your post incredibly accurate and enjoyable! your words..."At some point, I'll catch a glance from DW and we'll look at each other and acknowledge that we are in for a great 7-10 days. " very powerful words and observation! Thats as good as it gets! thanks for posting!
  14. GREAT report! looking forward to your next adventure! thank you!
  15. we arrive or depart at CDG 3-4 times a year.....we were there just last week. No way that is enough time .....CDG gets a bad sometimes, its just BIG. Safe travels
  16. GREAT review! thanks very much! we board the Regal in 3 weeks for the transatlantic crossing and your thoughts are very helpful to us..... all the best and stay safe at work!
  17. Thanks for the info! we just booked it! all the best!
  18. Baabaa, thanks very much for the information! Thats just what I was looking for! safe travels!
  19. we are doing a transatlantic on the regal next month. I have spent a couple hours on line researching how the "14 day package " for the thermal suite works scheduling....I am still confused (but then, I am from Florida!) For anyone that has done the package deal.....do you recall if can you go to the area at any time of the day or do you need to schedule a time daily? .....YEA...I know could call, or live chat with princess, but am not optimistic about getting an accurate response. Thanks in advance for any recent experiences and observations. We will be all in on paying the cost, IF we can come and go as desire.... Thanks again for any input AND...I promise we won't be chair hawgs!
  20. thanks and enjoying your report! we did the transatlantic from Rome to FLL last fall on the Regal and enjoyed it so much we booked it back to Rome next month... GREAT ship and crew! safe travels!
  21. LAcruiser 88....as usual, this is OUTSTANDING report!.... we have been traveling and just found your current cruise experience .... we were on the regal transatlantic with you last fall and picked up GREAT tips and advice from you as you were on a the prior 2 cruises before the transatlantic... Sitting here in Paris with our 8 year old granddaughter (spring break from school) , and I checked this site.....she and I have just read all 8 pages of your adventure so far....most enjoyable....thank you! not for nuthin, but we are taking the Regal back to Europe from FLL next month. have a safe and memorable remainder of your cruise! .
  22. GGEEZZZ this is all VERY refreshing to read! well done! I have enjoyed all the responses... NOT having to read about the lack of towel animals...OR....NO CHOCOLATE things on the bed....NO "super elite" " designation....the incessant chocolate cake degradation conspiracy theories...and of course the "useless" and ineffective medallion diatribes.etc... 2 old school classic southern phrases come to mind ...#1 ..."champagne taste on a beer budget"... #2 " give em a Cadillac and they complain it aint a Mercedes" Thanks for posting !
  23. following along! last time I saw your posts you were still working ......hopefully now you are enjoying retirement! be safe!
  24. Good evening from Florida... actually we are currently about 60 miles south of the OP's home.... since the OP started this report I have found myself very much looking forward each and every day for daily for updates and comments.....its one of the best live trip reports ever!...Next November we will be island princess stopping in Rome ,Israel and a transatlantic cruise back to Florida. So ....as is my current routine.....this evening, I secured a lite beer from Miller and started my search and perusal of this thread...just a few of the above responses confused me.... so I am only consuming one beer tonight... to the OP......really outstanding report ! thank you !
